I can't help but think of (◡‿◡✿) when I look at that second picture. But really, I do see the Persian/British you're going for. I continue to dig these a lot. I definitely wouldn't mind you using either of my characters for sketchin' purposes.

I'm hoping to do more environments and Thanalan happens to be my favorite region, so there's bound to be more mountains and rocky terrain at some point. I'm glad to please. Volcanoes are amazing! -- Been debating whether I might want to shift Torn Sky's personality and the tone of her history to something a bit darker. I'll probably write that up later and post it for feedback. Meanwhile, I tried drawing a wearier-looking, less elegant Torn to fit that idea. Also, a reminder that I sometimes make monsters. :bomb:

I'm 4'11" in real life and both my characters (Roeg and Highlander) are going to be maxed on the slider so I can live out my tall dreams. The urge is strong, and I'm not sorry.

Thanks, Alothia. And that's good! This thread is aimed at self-improvement. I'm trying to one up myself as I go. While doing this, I'm also coming out of a very, very long hiatus, so the more I do the more things come back to me. (I remembered how to paint decent noses and lips again, I AM STOKEDDD.) That's kind of also the reason I'm going back and redoing the first few requests I got. I don't want anyone feeling slighted for ending up with my rusty baby steps. ;u;

I'm afraid there's been literally no information released about it with the exception of what's on the Roegadyn and Hellsguard wiki pages. My best suggestion would be to take some inspiration from isolated cultures in the real world. Beyond that, it's up to you whether or not you want to avoid going into detail right away, or make up something reasonable. (Unless I'm looking at the wrong spot on the map) Abalathia's Spine looks like a decent-sized mountain range, so it wouldn't be crazy to say there are multiple small villages/tribes/whatever of Hellsgaurd up there that could potentially have varying traditions. If that's still daunting, there's nothing stopping you from making your character cityborn. Ul'dah in particular is crawling with Hellsguard npcs.

Torn Sky IMGUR album Torn Sky is in her forties, and has the beginnings of crow's feet and winkles beneath her eyes. Her face is long and thin-featured with a prominent nose. She also often has dark circles from an often interrupted sleep pattern. The symbol on her forehead somewhat resembles a sideways eye with curved lines radiating from it. She wears practical coats for adventuring with lots of pockets for storage, laden with additional bags and a utility belt. Her civilian clothing is generally composed more of draped robes, sashes, shawls, and cowls - things that make her look somewhat priestly.

I assure you your art is super fun and that I get excited when you update your thread. I absolutely love the way you draw your character's features. Though, I'm also glad to've been of some inspiration. :moogle: B-but Sun Seeker eyes are so the best, Xen. Yet I do think Aysun's need to be softened up in that picture. (I know that's not what you what your post is suggesting, but they really are burning into my soul.) I might try repainting them a bit later, but I was eager to get it posted up. Not Dragon*Con, but I'll be at Metrocon in Florida at the end of this month. I also go to Megacon and Holiday Matsuri in Orlando when they come around, as well as whatever else I can make time for. (We have a ton of small to mid-sized anime/comic/gaming conventions year round.)
