I applaud you on taking the time to draw that axe and gear set in complete detail. Looks great so far!

Scars and gruff men, you say. ♥ I do always worry that my faces look same-y, haha. It puts me at ease to see two people express otherwise in the same day, so thank you! The doodle spam continues~ -
I don't think any of my friends have any interest, sadly, and the ones that would don't have a system or computer able to run it. If there's a reason you don't want the pre-order code for yourself, I would love one. The cait sith pet is really cute, but I don't want to buy another copy of the game for it. Also having to wait till the 27th to play is painful. Haha. EDIT: I'll reblog it on tumblrs to give you a signal boost.

Aw, thank you! Meanwhile, I'm just sitting here doing loose painty dealies inspired by your stuff. -
I'm sexually attracted to in love with that Cathar gif, oh, and basically your entire style. There has been a startling influx of dauntingly talented folks lately, I must say.

Yeah, you only get one go at customization before you re-hire them. It appears that you can release and hire a new retainer as many times as you want though. So, if you feel like a change later, you can take all the items off of one, release, hire, and customize - as tedious as that is. I really do hope they let us dress them up later. ;u; It's probably redundant at this point after all the character creation screenshot threads, but I'd love to see how everyone designed their retainers. I made Torn's into two Sea Wolves that look like they could be brother and sister. Hehe. Yea, during phase 3 i saw that weird attire. if they at least gave us color options lol. Well I'm sure they know we would like to see a vanity option on the retainers, but Having them back is good enough and theres much else they'd likely rather focus on for launch/post launch anyway so its fine heh. What does the, personality thing involve? I saw it mentioned but they really didnt say much of what it did. Personality determines what their one-liners are when you call and dismiss them. Because SE has said we'll be able to use our houses as storefronts, it also makes me wonder if they'll have dialogue based on their personality when someone else interacts with them as well.

Going to reel back and offer sketch-only commissions for a while until I get used to my new tablet settings. It's kind of thrown a big giant wrench into the way I do things. Headshot for Felix Sideris: Well, I have a weakness for male highlanders, so I'll certainly try to fit Chance into my next round of doodles. Haha. It's all a part of the plan, Ryanti. The plaaaaaaaan. *twiddles fingers* -
Cool! I love his little poof of white hair. Hehe.

The only mistake I can see is that her father's name would've thus been Syhrdoen, although you probably just haven't changed that part of her wiki just yet. Figured I'd point it out just in case! I like that you've given thought to the reason for her first name in your backstory. I also feel like the last name has good flow, which is hard to do considering how long they generally have to be.

It's a Zarek: Because if you ever mention your character smokes, I am obligated to draw them with a cigarette or pipe etc. etc. -
I've come to the conclusion that I simply don't have a strong enough muse for Torn Sky to be able to RP her with any confidence once FFXIV goes into open beta. I can't decide what I want her personality to be. I can't decide what I want her story to be. I just don't have a voice for her right now. She is, however, aesthetically my favorite and I've decided that she is the avatar I want to experience the majority of gameplay with. I don't have everything for them on paper yet, but what I DO have are a couple of alt concepts that are far more fleshed out than anything I've been able to come up with for Torn. So I figure... maybe I could just take up one of them as my primary roleplaying character of sorts? They would be my alt gameplay-wise but on the forefront RP-wise. It's still possible I'll come up with something for Torn down the road after I've gotten to play through lore and such, but it seems very much like I'll be avoiding roleplay with her until then because I was legit stressing about it. I hope it's not too annoying or confusing for anyone. This is also kind of a heads up so no one is surprised if I change my forum name to reflect a different character choice. I'm sad about it, but she'll still be around! Lots! Just not in an RP stance for a while.

I apologize for vanishing so suddenly! My partner and I were on vacation for a little R & R. If anyone has any sketchy requests to help get me back into the swing of things, I'll gladly take a crack at them. :moogle: -

Got pressure sensitivity working again, so I'm going to fart more quick portraits while I get used to it. Gosh I'm so crappy at coloring while it's enabled, therefore I'm going to avoid disgusting you by not doing much more than flats. Needs practice aaaaaah Bea and K'araqi -
[Prompt] Meanings behind those tattoos and scars.
Torn Sky replied to Orlog's topic in RP Discussion
Just want to throw in a bit of info here. Branding usually forms sunken scars, and almost all result in darkened scars. If you're looking for an upraised scar that's light then cutting scarification is what you're looking for. So while branding fits with hellsguard quite a bit, the cutting scarification is what would really produce that effect. Thanks for the info. I had tried searching to see what branding itself actually looked like healed, but it was coming back with pictures of all types of scarification and I couldn't really tell what produced what effect. It appears lighter than her skin on her character model, so you're right. I wish I wasn't so attached to the white, or I'd be tempted to change it to fit that. EDIT: -
[Prompt] Meanings behind those tattoos and scars.
Torn Sky replied to Orlog's topic in RP Discussion
I was definitely thinking along the lines of a third eye type deal when picking Torn's "face paint" as well. To differentiate from anyone else who happens to choose the same option, I recently started drawing it to look more like a sideways eye. Until I finally sit down and produce a history I'm actually happy with and can see which fits better, I can't decide between it being a subtle tattoo or an upraised scar via branding. I figure the latter suits the whole fiery, volcano-dwelling theme of the Hellsguard quite a bit. The procedure was done by her mentor to induct her as one of his disciples. It's for power, or very hypothetical power anyway, as it's thought to improve one's ability to sense and channel the aether. The story behind my other character Teague's facial scars is a lot simpler than you might guess. They're the first scars he ever got as well as some of the worst. He's reckless and altruistic at the same time, which has gotten him into a lot of bad situations while trying to be a hero. He also likes animals, perhaps moreso than people, for he's been deaf all his life and is able to get along with them with not much beyond just a silent understanding of one another. One evening during his teens, he noticed the sheep moving erratically in their enclosure. The cause for commotion turned out to be a starving raptor that had set its sights upon the herd, and Teague was the first on the scene with only a shovel he'd grabbed along the way. He managed to fight it off with a few good blows to its neck, but got pretty ripped up in return. -

Spot on! I'm really excited you saw the new symbol design I came up with. Loving the changes, of course. :moogle:
