Welcome! And yes, the above post is what I've heard as well. Do not fret. :cactuar:

    Hello ^_^

Welcome! Man, I really wish I'd known there was RP on FFXI when I played it, although I probably would've been awful at it back then. Haha.
  3. Welcome! If you aren't familiar with it already, I do hope you find FFXIV's setting and lore to your liking and that you enjoy your stay in its RP community.
  4. U'zahn Tia! Because we met yesterday and he was a sweetie. So, I spent some more time in character creation this weekend and came up with some people. First is Teague, my new highlander, who is a super scarred up baby and missing a chunk out of his lips. I'll probably be using him instead of Basking Tiger as an alt now because I didn't like where the latter was going - and Eorzea needs more highlanders, anyway. Next we have an unnamed dunesfolk mega-brat, the two miqo'te are Lhao'sae Loro and N'bhiki Nhaam, and last but not least Torn Sky again.
  5. Holy crap, what a freaking cutie. Good job on her. I spent this weekend leveling a highlander. His name is Teague and I think he's a keeper.
  6. Skin-tone palette mainly. Sea Wolves have one that leans more toward blue/green. Hellsguard are more brown/red. As you can see with my character, if you don't like any of those colors - both clans have very pale options as well as very dark options. Their noses, also. Hellsguard noses have a dark tip kind of like Galkas had in FFXI. All the other stuff, hair palette, facial options, lip palette, face paint etc. is the same for both clans, I'm fairly certain. I can take some screenshots of the Highlander hairs and make you a montage of them later, if you like?
  7. I posted one earlier in the thread, but here it is again for ease. Both clans have the same hair choices, but there's talk of SE adding in a barbershop feature along with more hairstyles later on.
  8. I couldn't make it past 20 seconds, too much secondhand embarrassment. Oh god.
  9. Beyond proposing the idea and offering some of my time toward helping work on it, I'm afraid I can't offer much. I'm not well versed in what it takes to make and host websites, so I was, if nothing else, thinking about creating a tumblr for it to quickly collect screenshots from folks via the submit feature. But, I know that not everyone enjoys or knows how to use tumblr, and there's probably a much better way to go about it out there. Even though there is less of a difference in armor across the races in FF than in TERA, I still believe it might be good to get screens of sets on a variety of character models. Something that looks fine on a regular height model might look a bit funny on a tall one, for instance. There are also definitely some small gender differences (WAR and DRG AF) and things like how some models account for long eared races and miqo'te tails. Thoughts? EDIT: It's good to see some active databases for ARR. Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word database in the title post, though. I'm imagining something easier to browse and focused on aesthetics. Nonetheless, thank you for the links. They'll no doubt be very helpful when we all get started again.
  10. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner! She looks perfect. You even caught on that she's actually a bit pinkish. Hehe.
  11. Popping in to say that I absolutely adore your style. It's full of character and... feels very, very natural? Especially the way you draw Tim'a and P'axi together. Eagerly awaiting future updates. Excellent stuff!
  12. Back when I played TERA I'd refer to this website a lot in order to know what to expect my character to be dressed like when rolling a new class. I've seen similar resources set up for RP/vanity tab users in Warcraft etc. (If you don't want to look at the link, it's basically a big directory of armor sets with screenshots included for every race/gender. It includes the names and levels of gear set items as well as those of items that share the same model.) Unless one already exists that I'm unaware of, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in seeing something like this put together for FFXIV? 1.0 players who already have an idea of how diverse armor is in-game, do you think this could be useful? If you own completed sets on a character, would you be willing to submit images? (Anything: low-level sets, crafted sets, dungeon sets, event items, AF etc.)
  13. Ack. Really? I'm a bit concerned now as my 1.0 character got the same opening as all the beta characters I've made. She's also stuck as the job I logged in as unless I do the quests. Hopefully I'll get the "legacy" cutscene in phase 4 if I'm meant to. I haven't seen any official word on it yet, but a lot of people on the beta forums were saying it was a bug and that come phase 4/launch all 1.0 characters should receive the "legacy" opening. Edit: And just to clarify, I have a non-legacy character that I started in Ul'dah who got the opening where you ride to the city on the chocobo caravan, I then transfered my 1.0 character when they opened the legacy servers and started that character in Ul'dah as well just to reference the two openings and see if they were different and the legacy opening I got was definitely different from the standard one. As I mentioned above, not everyone got this (in fact I have a friend with a lvl 20 legacy character who just got the stock opening as well) which is why most people believe it's a bug. Ah, thanks for shedding some light on it. Good to know it wasn't just a few people that've had this happen. The tattoo isn't particularly useful to me as I'm playing my character as a newcomer, but it would still be cool to have even if it's covered or disabled most of the time.

  15. Tried a lalafell. With more color this time. I think I'll call her Yoyoji.

    Lali-ho!

You're definitely not alone there. I'll be starting back after a similar experience as well. Welcome to the RPC! We've got a friendly bunch of people here, I think.
  17. Misfired and made a new post while trying to edit something. Disregard. Thanks again everyone. I think I'll move on to the wiki and reference post now and try drawing some characters at random.
  18. Thank you! I'm just glad they aren't all roegadyn because I'm finding their faces really hard to do so far. It's why I only have one mug of TS so far. Aysun:
  19. Awww, I'd love to draw your kitty. I'm on special secret a mission to draw ALL the kitties. They're so fun. And Ellie, I don't mind giving it a shot if you have any links to what you've drawn of him, that, or a description of your character would work as well. He looks pretty cute if that's him in your avatar. c: Personal art update: I started trying to draw Fheng from the front, but it wasn't working out so well with the way I had his hair. I couldn't figure out how to make the bit where human ears would be if he had them look decent, so I let some hair down on the sides.
  20. Her arm was meant to be propped on something like how you rest your elbow on tables sometimes, but it looks more like she's trying to show you her muscle. Xenedra: And I'm just using the default pen tool on paint tool sai. Thanks everyone! I haven't been doing much drawing lately, so I hope this motivates me to keep it up so I can start improving again.
  21. Kerr bear! Heading to bed now. I'll start with Xenedra tomorrow.
  22. His work always immediately comes to mind when I'm drawing FF characters now because of all the beautiful box art. So, perhaps a bit! It's really only my simple stuff that look like this though. When I try painting, things start getting quite a bit different. That's partly because I'm a very unorganized artist and don't abuse layers nearly enough... and I have the problem of painting on the wrong layer often and realizing it too late. Hahahahaha. Aw. I've entertained the idea of actually trying to mimic his style sometime as an exercise to see how it works out. You are so right. My anatomy is alrightish. I just get pickier and pickier about my own drawings the more there is going on in a picture, I think.
  23. If you stand on my shoulders, together we can become the world's tallest white mage.
