  1. Hythine Sangdieme veteran wood wailer "Heed, bastard knave, and know that one day the gods shall take you! Come that moment, may ye feel every onz of my venom as the jaws of death close around thine putrid, bleedin' heart!" dutiful, law abider and upholder, a strong believer in keeping one's word, well-disciplined (martially), vehement, sharp-tongued, holds grudges, superstitious Teague Greytide lamb-hearted marauder "I know they aren't too pretty, but they mean a lot to me, alright?" sympathetic, patient, hard-working, good with animals, high tolerance for pain, stubborn, dislikes large groups, reckless and seemingly eager to throw his life away for the sake of others Duana Groves troubled girl; partial owner of Highhaven Floral Boutique "Flowers so pristine you'll swear they've come from the high heavens!" "I-is it alright if I stay here with you for awhile? ...would that not be too much trouble?" imaginative, generous, accepting, cares about the environment, flighty, overly trusting, obsessive and can be manipulative, becomes aggressively anti-social under stress Lhao'sae Loro suave ex-highwayman "Mm. Lo' there, see something you like? I know I do. You look just the type to have a well-lined purse, and what's better is we're both nicely tucked away where no one'll see ye struggle. AH!— but I jest. Nice day it is, don't you think so, lad?" more intelligent than he lets on, skilled performer, logical, smooth talker, self-interested, unconcerned, has little regret for his past crimes Torn Sky whimsical researcher and benevolent stranger "Ah, you've gotten lost, you fear? I'm afraid I haven't the time to lead you on your way. If you'd like to stick with me, however, I wouldn't mind it at all. Perhaps we'll both see something wondrous. Sometimes the Gods lead us astray for good reason, my dear." W.I.P "I wish upon thee the most pathetic ending imaginable! May ye be eaten by hog and shite out the other end! Or I bid ye may save thyself the humility now and dive onto my spear— just this once I'll allow it to be stained by the blood of a fool." "Stand down, ye foul, beady-eyed creature!" "And what sort of vermin are you?" "Ye've the face of a marmot, the fat of a hog, and the breath of a funguar." "Ye must be Nophica's drunken creation. I offer my hand in pity."
  2. (Ahhh, thank you. <3) In that case, you could still utilize both character concepts? :moogle: I usually have one main character, one alt I play more than the rest, and a merry band of others that I mess around with whenever the mood strikes me. I have the issue of coming up with a ton of concepts and I have a hard time narrowing the pack down to just one or two characters. My Roe might fit 'big and muscular scholar' a bit, haha. I went for a DoM heavy Hellsguard and chose to make her native/non-cityborn so she'd still have that mystical feeling that surrounds their lore. Yet after coming down from Abalathia and adventuring for over a decade, she's also well-adapted to the city at this point in her life. She's a researcher/expeditionist type and very gung-ho about what she does. I'm still working it out because I fear it's not very original, but that's the groundwork of it. Yeah the idea was that the "main" would be decided by these two concepts and the other one would pop in Gilgamesh as an alt. Honestly while that concept isn't that original (like you stated) I feel it's quite interesting nonetheless. A brave scholar type, a Roegadyn "Indiana Jones"-like character who isn't afraid to go to crazy expeditions in Eorzea sounds like a blast to RP as and with so I can see what you mean! You will be playing in Balmung yes? Yep, I'm going with Balmung as my primary server of the two. I don't think she'll be Indiana Jones-level epic, but then again she did grow up on a volcano. I'm still trying to think of some twist that meshes well, or a different concept that's also fitting. Although I may just ride with it because it's true that being a Roegadyn already makes her stand out from similar characters.

  4. Not that we're very numerous, I don't think I've seen any Roegadyn going for fresh and young with their character concept. My own is going to be in her 30s. However, I really, really love your idea for the Hellsguard gladiator. I find it quite cute and I feel like it would be a blast to RP on top of that.
  5. Here's my Roegadame in most of the level 15 caster dungeon set. (Missing the leg item so please ignore the awkwardly colored tights, haha) This set looks pretty fantastic on everyone though.
  6. *shakes fist about the tiny blurb or two there is about the Hellsguard homeland* Trying to write up Torn's origins has not been too fun either. At this point I'm going ahead and making up a few small, reasonable details to help give the beginning of her backstory at least a little bit of life-- Small enough that it would be easy to quietly retcon things if they turn out to be way off.
  7. Hrmm...there's something odd about this picture. I'm crying, but in a good way.
  8. I started painting over the Dennthota sketch because I didn't quite like it. Sorry the colors aren't right. I kept going in grayscale and then put a sepia-ish a color filter on it to at least match her skintone a little better. She looks, like, drunk, but I really enjoy whatever weird face it is that she's making. It does. :c But it makes it look like a chalk drawing kind of, which is fitting in a way.
  9. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more landscapes done in this forum. It's cool to see how others interpret how the world looks, that, and there's plenty of areas we haven't seen yet to try and dream up. And thanks, Crystal! I have another sketchy update. These first two I did a few days ago as intro to a possible illustrated backstory. I don't know if I'll get around to continuing it, but it's something I'd love to do for both of my characters. Attempted to draw a phrase in ASL ( ...Or perhaps in this case ESL?) Teague's intended to be deaf unless I change my mind about it. Kid Teague and his parents Torn Sky meditating somewhere in Vylbrand/O'Ghomoro/idk. I can never draw enough volcanos. No. Never. Alternate version.
  10. Today I attempted to paint a volcanic crater that could reasonably be located somewhere in Abalathia's Spine to maybe use on my wiki page. I imagine the Hellsguard home region to look something like a way more scenic Ifrit's Cauldron.
  11. :surprise: I literally yelped when I saw this. I seriously wasn't expecting it! Again, I love the colors, especially in the midtones. Eeeee, thank you so much! Thank you, and you're welcome! I really felt like doing a portrait tonight and Bea seemed like a fun subject for it.
  12. I tried a thing. Also, I gotta apologize to the folks who requested their character to be drawn toward the beginning of the thread. My art bug is a bit erratic and I tend to produce better things the more frequently I draw. I'm just kind of drawing them in whatever way strikes me at the time.
  13. I'm seriously itching to draw, but I haven't had my tablet with me for the past few days. Until I can get back home, here's a few non-FF things I've done in the past.
  14. Thank you! I imagined him just kind of humming along, wiggling his fingers after a tune up to make sure everything's calibrated correctly. :cactuar:
  15. Commission for Endemerrin Going to my boyfriendo's house for a few days for the fourth, so I won't be able to draw for a while. Also probably won't be on the beta much this weekend, if at all. Mrrrr. As always, thank you for all the kind comments everyone!
  16. I just want to say that I have a lot of respect for your proactive attitude when it comes to Gilgamesh. I feel that you will most certainly help give the new server's RP community a great beginning and I wish you the best of luck. I'll be resuming my 1.0 character on Balmung come phase 4, but knowing me I'll most likely be tempted to create an alt for Gilgamesh if all goes well. :moogle:
  17. Oh gosh, this is just what I need and I would very much appreciate being able to participate in something like this.
  18. Petite Miqo'te with pink hair wearing robe - m4w (Ruby Road exchange) You were at the apothecary stall and were wearing a white robe with red triangles on it. I was the Elezen in the leather harness and subligar. We kept making eye contact, but I was too nervous to say hello... I think you're cute. Quite sexy, actually. I wish we had spoken. Please contact me if u see this?!!!! Location: Ruby Road Exchange it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
  19. To be honest, I remembered that you posted some larger screenshots of your character in the fem Roe thread. So I went and looked at those, actually! --- Aside from the one on his mouth, I'm not sure what I want the rest of Teague's scarring to look like, so I just threw some all over the place to make him look appropriately beaten up.

  21. I just wanted to pop in and say that said NPC in Gridania is most certainly a Sea Wolf going by nose/skin color. I know because I stopped and stared at him this weekend because of that. Haha. Unless it is a mistake, I have seen two different male Sea Wolves so far with translated names.
  22. Thank you! I'll probably gradually be doing more things in color. And then. Maybe. Eventually. ...Hands? Bodies? Who knows? Incoming Roegadyn special. Sigyn Bloebloud for Lizzo: Dennthota Ahtahrmwyn:
  23. Yup. Poor Khaze'to. I remember having to raise him afterward. But what a good sport he was considering everything he had to go through that day.
