No, the realms of the Gods people think they go to in their after life. I thought every respective god has their hall their believers go to, but I cannot for the life of me find the quote of lore on it. But thank you anyhow! I know it's rather succint and vague, but if that is of any help, Gridanians seem to often refer to "going back to the Matron's Bosom", which directly refers to the fertile earth that gives birth to every life in their view. The dead seem also to be burried in gridanian fashion under burial mounds, as seen above the Tam-Tara.

Don't hold my word for that since I would be unable to find back where I read about it, but I was pretty sure that The Shroud for example, gets to be blanketed in snow during winter.

I don't disagree with that, but I also do disagree that it's anything close to comparisons and analogies with beast tribes and how they are treated in Eorzea. To my eyes that is purely racial issue, unlike the more general xenophobic approach you can have toward a bunch of aggressive bandits roaming around. Granted, if those xaela look enough like animals, I can totally see some domans snorting at them that way though! But they are still human, unlike beastmen.
-
It sounds a bit extreme as an analogy though. As far as I know there is no eorzean beast tribe with human bodies, unlike the xaelas that are of the same race than the raen. If Domans saw xaelas as beastmen in the same fashion than eorzeans, then they would see raen as beastmean too... Which would excluse raen from living in Doma. Unless there is something we don't know and somehow raen are actually living like second class citizens/animals in Doma, which I find unlikely. They both seem to originate from the same group, except one has chosen to abandon the nomadic lifestyle while the other has chosen to carry on with it.

If I had the time to devote or a jump potion I could create an Adders/God'sQuivers/Wailers alt and a LS associated with it... I would really like it. :c Also if you really want a military approach for Adders, you can definitely play on the commando/guerilla/sentries side of things.

Guess I'll have to take a day off for that shit. -
I think you might find a few answers here Of course Astrology is not the only magical science used by Sharlayan. I would wager that they actually tend to integrate every kind of magic there is to learn. But for stuff directly originating from them, yeah, astrology for sure, probably poroggos (unless it's specific to Matoya), and possibly magicked brooms (that are seen all across Eorzea). Seeing the kind of spells Y'shtola or even Louisoix seem to cast, they seem to have access to very powerful magicks.

Play whatever you fancy Why playing one if there are too many then? Or is that too many other than yourself?

From what I have seen so far: 1) We are in a patch lull. For reasons already explained above (WoW Legion, boredom, people moving to other games, MMO hoppers, whatever), 90% of my contact list is empty most of the time. 2) RP in FFXIV is peculiar in that RP is everywhere, but hard to access due to various factors such as the game social network tools (/tell, friendlist, impossible to add offline people, etc) that are obnoxiously user unfriendly and/or just basic. Problem is also that if you are in location X, RP can happen, but maybe not at your location. For you to know that RP is happening somewhere, you have to be aware of it. 3) Some good ways to find your post in RP is, from the most effective in my experience to the least: Find a RP FC that you like and actually does RP things and events and stuff, that way you will find a place in overarching stories, make long lasting IC relationships and RP shenanigans; Find good RP Linkshells that provide the hooks you are looking for. RP LSes are less effective since the core of RP always happens in your FC, but they provide a good complementary experience or even alternative, but they tend to suffer a bit more from lulls since they are less close knit than FCs (due to obvious proximity/gameplay reasons). Find connections, like by asking here on the RPC. It can work relatively well, but by asking for connections you have to go reach out to the people that offered. The onus is on you. Don't expect them to constantly check ingame if you are online to add you and offer RP, it happens rarely. If it's you offering to someone asking for connections on the other hand, yeah... but sometimes they just still don't contact you, so your choice. Anyway, it works well for short term improsived RP things, or just one-time RP. It works a lot less often for long term RP, because most of the players will just either vanish quickly at some point for various reasons (not finding their thing in the game, being bored, or else), or they might also not provide the RP you are looking for, or just not have the same RP views, which is fine. The main issue you will run into is that most people will just add you but actually never offer any RP and you will constantly have to reach out to them all the time to do something, which is super not cool I find (and makes ou wonder if they really like the RP you provide). Anyway, the few players that you will find here that will become long term friends are to be cherished. Go to big RP events. Can't speak much about that as I haven't really done it. It can be intimidating for a lot of reasons, is usually full of people and scrolling walls of RP text, hard to insert yourself among all those groups of people already RPing with their friends, etc. Do walk-up RP, in the Quicksand or anywhere else. Probably going to get fast food RP with random people with random views on RP and things, and be half of the time or more, just ignored. 4) Creating your own RP trip. More easily said than done. People like to tell you "you just have to do X or Y", but that's not "just". It takes investment, time and effort and it's not the privilege of everyone. It also takes charisma and an ability to sell your thing/concept, and even less people have that for them. Generally, when you don't find the kind of RP you are looking for, it's because it interests very little or just nobody. No matter what you will try, good luck with kickstarting something like that. I should know, I tried. If you want a safe and easy way to do it though, you just have to create the 100th generalist FC/LS about adventurers or mercs, but considering the amount there is already, no need to create your own really. In anyway, wishing you all the luck for anyone trying to insert yourself in the RP scene and find THE good spot of friends sharing the same views on things, because it's hard and takes time. I should know, it took me many months for that to happen. Conciling the RP hooks and the story you are looking for, and the friends you are looking for, can be arduous.

Mhh... What is in Pagith'an? East of Uld'ah?

Because people don't have a reason to log back unlike in 2), and probably moved to other games and or activities. As you probably have noticed, most people, even if roleplayers, tend to always do their roulettes first, no matter what.

Did a Weeping City yersterday just fine, with no wipes. Most of the last weeks had very little if no wipes at all for me. Not sure what is all the fuss about terrible experiences on that raid recently... -
Considering it's not anybody that was the "only one" to even dare enter there and get through and the way it's formulated, I assume that you have to be cut of a similar caliber to at least get out alive in the first place.

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales

If you have some Grand Company seals, I would suggest to invest them into Grand Company gear at your level. Those are really good, even better than your usual green/pink dungeon stuff since their ilevel is one or two levels higher than their base level. And they synergize together with bonuses. -
Is it just for garlics or... ?

Mh. I'm very confused. I think I jumped to conclusions as I remembered something mentioned about that in the DRK storyline. I went to check back and it happens in the lvl54 quest with E-Sumi Yan. But... It is not quite said that they are of the same class of being. Merely that they hold one power and it's of the same kind, which is... slightly different and I think my inner logic screwed up a little bit here. The exact statement is (speaking about the great spiritual presence inside a girl):

Alright alright, you win. I'm not gonna ask what's under the mask anymore. Ever. You happy?

I rewatched the final curtain video for the closing of 1.0 and it seems to me that all that crystalized, corrupted aether is probably the result of the conflagration between the final spell used by Louisoix and the unleashing of Bahamut energies. We see clearly that when both meet, the meteor stops just before reaching the ground, and long coils of magick soon turn into crystal (which are still here today, pointing to the sky).

Mh, I don't remember about that thing, where can we learn about it in Azys Lla?
-
I like! My character learned elementary botany more out of necessity rather than passion, and usually distrusts lalafells quite a bit (but gridanian garden gnomes are okay I guess ). Feel free to poke me!

Do you mean, Dalamud the moon, the loyal hound of Memphina? Then you just have to wander around a lot of areas (Thanalan Burning Rocks, La Noscea East near Castrum Marineris and especially the North Shroud). The scars of the fall of Dalamud are clearly visible. Huge and tall crystalized parts of corrupted aether spring out of the land everywhere a massive chunk of it fell. Gridania is said to have been the most impacted by the fall and the Elementals are extremely weakened from this as a result. The land is slowly healing, but there is a resurgence of all kind of tainted shit running around, twisted by all those corrupted aether seeping into the land (Fukushima style). If you go watch a bit about the Binding Coil of Bahamut raid series, you can see the pieces of the moon are still more or less intact and functional and run deeeeeep into the ground (more than thousand malms under). And somehow seem to have some kind of self sustaining/self repairing nano machinery that slowly pieces everything back together pretty organically. You can go from La Noscea to Northern Thanalan through there, as seen at the end of BCoB T5. The question might be... what is the source of all that corrupted aether? I would be tempted to say, it's from Bahamut itself... but... somehow I'm not especially satisfied with that answer.

Maybe there is tempering, but we should take caution since Elementals are not primals, so nothing says that it's the same Tempering with capital T. Elementals are of the same class of magical beings than Dragons/Higher Dravanians/Meracydian wyrms. The only difference is their shape and the way they live on a rather different plane of existence. I wonder if there is any kind of similarity to drinking dragon's blood. If yes, then turning into a dragon brood might be reversible, but I'm speculating like hell.

I got all curious about the Heavens Ward suddenly. Where do they draw their nasty powers (I HAVE THE POWER), besides that it seems to be implied that Ascians probably initiated them? What kind of magic is it (THIS SHALL BE A MERCY)? What kind of info do we have on that? I think I didn't pay enough attention to that stuff when I ran through the MSQ the first time.
