  1. Leaving corpses unattended in Eorzea often ends up with said corpses being possessed by various entities like voidsent, ghosts and the likes if I remember correctly. There is also the soul that can remain behind and not follow through the aether realm if it has an attachment strong enough, or something? I'm really getting that on top of my head here though. I would have to look back for sources.
  2. I have seen plenty of statics on Balm. Light statics as well as very serious ones. They tend not to mesh well with RP FC because usually when you start gathering people, it's already hard enough to find either raiding people with the same level and ideals, or hard enough to find RPers that fit your own RP habits and views and needs. So, both at the same time? But yeah, I know people that RP AND PROGRESSION raid perfectly fine. They just have their raiding schedule some evenings that can't be disturbed, is all. So if you really are into ligh hearted raiding, you will be fine. =)
  3. I also forgot to add, while you can't really do much with DPS that aggro everything too soon before you have correctly aggroed everything, you can definitely get the last word with a WhM/AST that casts regen on you before you engage. Right click on the icon and you will get rid of the buff. Not so many people know they actually can do that, but you can dismiss any buff you have on you by doing so. If the heal complain, tell him not to do that and wait for you to aggro. If they still don't comply, then continue dismissing their buff. Or if you want to be a hazardous asshole I guess you can let them draw all aggro and die, but that might not go well.
  4. If a mob seems to stay aggroed on someone else stubbornly no matter what (for whatever reason), take the habit to use Provoke on it and them immediately shield lob or whatever ranged attack enmity generating move you have. Provoke is awesome for that in that it puts you at the top of the enmity list, even if someone has already built a huge aggro on said mob. So the mob should get back to you pretty meekly normally. Then spamm flash for good measure to be sure they stay there or no other one starts to get ideas. Also I assume you still don't have Shield Oath at that level, so you are still stuck with the low level aggro nightmare most tanks have to deal with (especially GLA). People should be a bit more tolerant when they get a tank of that class. Note that if you keep losing aggro it's also possible that some genius in your party always starts aggroing everything before you do (mobs are still yellow for example). And then with just flash it gets a nightmare to get everything back especially if you have to run all around for that. It is also possible that a funny white mage gets the idea to cast regen on you before you engage, which will build aggro on the healer at the start instead of the tank. It is also posible that the DPSes are all single targeting a different mob, which will build aggro pretty fast on several mobs at once that flash will have difficulties to deal with. I think you should keep an eye on what your party is going because you maybe are not the only one at fault in those cases. Feel free to add me as friend if you need help or anything ingame! I can possible tag along with you in roulettes and help. Though my timezone may screw with things but well.
  5. It's per character. Add to that another for a FC, so you can technically own two per character.
  6. You know, this makes me think that I should stop venting in that terrible pug thread for everything bare those very ludicrous and shitty situations, and I apologize for that. Basically you want to use Requiem during combat when you have casters in your party aka magical users that will benefit for the magical vuln you give to the enemies, as a I WhM I love that for example). Out of combat it is always useful to use Mage Ballad or the TP regen one when you see that some of your party members are low in MP or TP, and choose the song accordingly! If everyone is fine, then Swiftsong I guess!
  7. Maybe the 6M dude got enough evidence gathered against him and not the 200mil dude? Maybe depending on the GM in charge and their mood, the answer can vary a lot? Maybe the high rolling house sellers are you know, actually good at hiding their thing when the smaller ones probably don't even know what they are doing? Lots of things can happen, and the problem is, you are talking mostly without knowing half of the actual details and pulling vague examples that only you can talk about here. That's exactly what I was telling above. You know three people. Out of... lots. Maybe you haven't heard about high rollers being banned. Maybe some still get banned. Who's to say that you can't miss anything? See, the thing is, after a few years in the industry, I see so many people claming various things on game forums like, they think that feature X or Y is shit, or that facts are A and not B, and that everyone thinks to agree, so why is the company not doing anything against it, etc etc? They think they know about everything, have all the data, when in fact they just kept paying attention only to their own echo bubble and circle of friends or personal network to the point where they naturally think that this is representative of the whole situation. And then you take a look at the actual stats that the playerbase has no access to, with actual numbers to back it up, and see that those people are actually a minority, or talk about very vocal but very minor parts of the community.
  8. What makes you think they don't ban some of them when they catch them? Do you personally know all of those house sellers to confirm that? The same way, you are taking one single example of how badly any system can turn with some poor soul selling his house 6M and getting banned. That's a bit disingenuous I think. As said just above, it's a bit like saying because one guy stealing pocket money to an old lady in the street got into prison while a few groups doing a heist never got caught means by all logic and necessity that all little thiefs always get stomped and not the dangerous guys pulling big heists... What kind of logic is that? One example or two don't make a generality. Unless you have proofs of course. What we would call a consistent and sufficient pool of stats to show otherwise. In any case, why would SE only ban the smallest offenses and not the big ones? Because they are mean bullies?
  9. I concede that point then. I am no cafter, even if I think crafters tend to be a bit entitled at times and inflate anything out of proportions. So? Because if I buy a stock of materias for 500k, and suddenly they lose half of their value on the MB, I should be entitled to get my missing 250k back? If I buy raiding food someday, and they skyrocket the day after, I should relinquish all the money I gained out of it? Because it's not fair? If I buy a gear set that is super expensive, then quit the game, and come back one year later when said gear has become cheap as dirt, I should throw a tantrum at buyers because they are not paying the full price I paid one year before? Isn't that the rule of the market by definition? I'm afraid it would be very naive to expect otherwise. That's probably very reasonable yeah. But that also shows that most players still don't grasp what's the crux of the matter. You pay for illegal shit. No matter how nice and reasonable you are with your prices, you risk being curbstomped by the law. I think the only case that could be made here is that Yoshi-P and SE never were exactly very clear on their stance on the matter. So, if you bought before, you can still have the excuse not to have known. Now though... Everyone knows what they risk. They still choose to invest? Well then, reasonable or not, they got what they deserved. You can disagree with the system, or agree, it doesn't change the end result. Trying to cheat and complaining after when you get caught? Please. Sure, that's not extremely fun when it happens to the people that deserve it the less, yeah.

  11. > Got into Sor Khai as WhM expert roulette. > DRG spews inanities in chat and starts pulling everything > Want to let the DRG die but refrain myself, giving him a second chance. > Dismiss vote for harassment appears. I'm thinking whether I should press yes or no when DRG suddenly rushes to the first boss, Lerooyyy. > Spamm click NO NO NO NO before fights starts and freezes the vote. > DRG is kicked out. > New DRG enters. Starts having lots of jokes with the tank and the low ilevel MCH (probably american culture centered, I'm at a loss and just let them all have fun, better that kind of atmosphere). > Notice that my MP is drained and everytime all mobs have like 30-60% of their life remaining. > Check parser, see that I'm FUCKING TOP DPS. > Recheck parser to be sure because seriously. > Want to tell them to tone the jokes down and focus on... you know... DPSing. > Decide not to bother since I would have passed for the one raining on everyone's parade. At least, atmosphere was light hearted for them I guess. > Just 2-3 islands remaining at the end of Hraesvelgr fight. Not sure if you actually can lose them all or if that dragon stops destroying them. > No comms for carrying the team. Oh well.
  12. As I wrote on my wiki back in the day... So, she constantly has her hands (or more than her hands) plunged in random pieces of equipment and magitek stuff, which tends to take a heavy toll on them, rendering them callous, often dirty or covered in various stinky/sticky shit like oil, soot, etc. It tends to give a certain contrast between the few spots that are usually spared and the rest (meaning, the back of the hands versus the palms). Added to that she is extremely clumsy. Before she took an obsession for engineering magitek and machinistry she was raised as a botanist/herbalist. Her hands already showed a lot of cuts and marks due to cutting tools used to that purpose, even if she tended more to slack than being serious at it. Now, with way more dangerous and lethal tools, you bet that she tends to hurt herself quite a lot on a regular basis. And it's not just about cuts and marks, but burns or bruises too. She was too poor to do anything about it before, but now that she earns a bit more than the bare survival it is possible for her to grab a few potions at times to limit the damage over time.
  13. B-but we are over 50.000 in Balmung I don't think it is cruel. A small plot is what? 3M? The guy is making double that price, which makes the victim pay 3 times more than they would normally have. It can definitely be seen as extortion, and house sellers can already make a good margin with such prices. Granted, they sure probably ask a lot more now as you say, with the overall atmosphere and prices climbing up and all, but I really, really fail to see that as cruel. I would do it everytime, no matter what. If it was just making you pay the value of all the inside items and airships, and that only, I wouldn't mind. Were all those 4 airships fully upgraded and all? Or just the basic ones? I find it a bit cruel though on the behalf of the GMs not to at least reimburse the buyers, even if it's a bit of a Darwin Award here. Okay, they got to be the fools, they bought even if it goes against the rules, sure. But at the same time... well yeah. It's probably to teach them a lesson so they don't do it again. It's a bit harsh sure, but to cut on the selling market, cracking down on buyers and thus, market demand, is a good way to choke the market.
  14. Are you kidding =_= There goes that solution, then, lmao. Just make them instanced and 1/character with a demolishment schedule... please.......... Every single instance is also linked to server nodes dedicated to them. Dungeons or just quest instances. They have dedicated and limited server slots running at the same time. This is also why when they released Stone Sky Sea, so many players tried to accessed it at once that there was a server congestion and most people couldn't access. You will run in the exact same issue. System wise, there is absolutely zero difference.
  15. Media Images declarations follow that pattern: [[File:yourimage.png|800px]] The second part (800px) tells the wiki that the image has to be 800px in width. You can also add a 'x' just before it so it tells it to be 800px in height. [[File:yourimage.png|x800px]] If it doesn't follow that pattern in the way it's declared, there might be a problem, or css/html involved somewhere. Could you copy/paste here the code snippet that causes the issue?
  16. Oh. I see... I never really had anything extremely accurate and well defined on the long run for my character. She sure has dreams and stuff on the short or medium run of things, but when she gets them (which she still has to because I hate rushing things, I like realism and all that jazz), she usually goes under some change in her own way and gets new dreams... Well I hope so. For the ultimate goals, I never went further than "taking on a long pilgrimage/journey across Eorzea and the world" that she sees as a lifetime accomplishment. So, unless something happens, I don't see that happening anytime in the game lifespan... If you have seen Kino no Tabi, it's kinda similar. Maybe I'm a coward but it sounds less bothersome that way
  17. On Voidsent hierarchy (old vid): zd1sVIYB9Mk On Belias, Ascians and the Void vs Hydaelyn (old vid), first part is of interest: L7QRRvxmu28 Void Ark: qRHfPAFfbxk Not sure if it answers to everything since it's a lot of musings, but well. Edit: before anyone starts yelling, I think that what he means by Void and Void creatures being filled with Aether is that voidsent consume Aether and are known to be born out of the aether seeping in the Void... which is devoid of everything. Not that the Void is aether in its own way, certainly not.
  18. I... don't quite get the issue actually. I love when it happens. That's often the most interesting part of personal struggles. All the journey up to revenge is neat and sweet, but once it's done and leaves the person empty, it's the most formidable engine for change you could wish for. You just need other players to be involved in it and force it upon your character, because the character might often be quite closed to it initially, as a empty/lost husk. Remember the Boshin War in Japan? How all those lost samurai roamed aimlessly in a society that changed and didn't want for them anymore? Isn't that a great story to be told somehow? But maybe the real issue is that you maybe don't want for your character to change yet. You are not ready for it? I can relate to that. That's one of my biggest hurdles. I grow attached too much to a certain facet of my characters and sometimes resist change.
  19. In before apartment sellers showing up and sitting on half of the apartment plots.
  20. What if someone, say, started to put up PF ads asking to buy a house 'please contact me yadayada'. And then systematically reported the sellers showing up, mh? Just a thought.
  21. Yeah, these are definitely more shunned (I'd go ahead and say a lot of peeps don't approve of the idea). Else we wouldn't have the option to even bind to same-sex. It's not just a lot of peeps. It's said clearly by the devs that is rarely happens because most races are super wary of each other and actually live together because they have to, not because they like each other. They tolerate working with other races, but except for adventurers, most people will shun interracial relationships the same way they did IRL not even 2 centuries ago. It's not just like today where it's just frowned upon in a certain amount of places, or unconsciously disliked. It's way deeper than that. And honestly, when you think about it, it's not just skin colour and other small phenotype variations. There is a huge world of difference between something as small as black vs white people, and the gap between roes, auri, miqo'te, lalafells...
  22. I said not fun, not boring... For me at least. But I feel like it's probably the single job I see not very often in parties. Especially past leveling. It's a very hard job too, so there is that.
  23. Most MCH in DF are cancer (esp with the point blank skill). Fortunately, the job is so not fun for most that they are not very many.
  24. I mean ok, gender locked is not fun, but I'm not that upset when it comes to say, the difference between the expeditioner stuff for example. Would be better with both versions gender unlocked, true... But here, the man is a butler, and the females have to go with the maid. Really?
