I do also have that feeling of agreement that Gaius isn't really the bad guy but he's really the one who took the burden of becoming a villain to the warrior of Light to test their strengths. But then again, he's kind of responsible for razing other nations with his conquest and dominating all of Primals - so I am not quite sure what his full purpose was besides him telling the WOL that he intends to end the false idolizing and false lies of the politics behind all three nations. But if Gaius was to come back as supposedly, he's not dead - then who is he really allied with?

Wouldn't it rather be more of changing the new ruler and turning the empire into republic or democracy? That's how I'd see it. The WoL and others would kill the last "antagonist based" emperor and completely shatter the empire into more of lesser nation like the other three and make an alliance with them. Otherwise, the entire empire would really fall apart. Also I really doubt FF14's main focus was to fight against Garlean Empire forever. Technically the Heavensward is now focused on battling against mostly Dravanians. We also haven't seen a lot of other islanders that may exist in the lore too.

Whelp. I was hoping they'd explain about old contents too about how they'll make everyone revisit still.

As the topic says, has anyone kind of wondered if FF14 will only keep Garlean Empire for the rest of the series or do you think it'll eventually come to it's conclusion in one or two more expansions after Heavensward? My honest theory is that Garlemald won't stay forever and it'd probably meet it's end by the third expansion of FF14 franchise, or even 4th. Hate to contrast to WoW's Wrath of the Lich King here, but a lot of people were not expecting for them to reach Icecrown until Blizzard announced it. After Heavensward, perhaps we might be visiting Othard in the new expansion to reunite two continents to attack north - which would be the continent where Garlean Empire resides (4th Expansion perhaps?)

They'd be lucky to still be that, I wager. While it maybe mostly the result of that, I feel like once new expansion after Heavensward come out - we might see the result of Doma more than what we expected. It probably isn't really 100% razed, but probably exaggerated by others too much.

I was trying to devise a way to turn it into an RP event, but I'm not sure how that would work out considering you can't even produce a weapon when mounted. You see now I feel stupid for not thinking it because I played a mounted knight in Ragnarok Online. It was even a bird. Peco Pecos were amazing. Then the Royal Peco Pecos for Crusaders are cooler

In this discussion, I can see that some spear skills done by Lancers in FF14 are quite similar to Asian spear skills more than Medieval skills. Like the thrust techniques and quick swaying techniques are more similar to Japanese "spears" aka Yari yet also Chinese spear skills. Because I've been reading Romance of Three Kingdoms a lot, there had been some references used in most Final Fantasy franchise especially for Dragoons/Lancers (I don't mean jump). Before Yari, Han and Qin Dynasty had the teaching of how to use spears like Yari. So that's something interesting to look at.

I'd honestly think it'd be considered not worthy since it is an optional event and fun thing for people to consider to be non-canon. Worthy makes it sound like if there will be a deep character development connection, but this is just for silly events to have fun and to make friends more than anything. My personal advice is to just go with flow and make rules, and make strategies on how to work it out. Also I'd prefer to do it in game over forum since there won't be people writing in further details of this RP in a forum. If people can't afford Fantasia, they can just pretend to be someone else and only let the people who are participating be notified instead. After all, it's just only the people participating that'd know who's gotten their body switched or gender switched. How much can it hurt for you unable to afford a fantasia? Rather than device, perhaps there might be other ways to change people's gender or body switching. Perhaps deity's play? There has been already 4-5 people who shows interest but has slight issue in terms of affording a Fantasia bottle. It -can- work out. As long as you can try to tweak the rules for the participants. Also 5 people are usually enough to make a good amount of event. Too many can be just clustered and having a problem.

I personally haven't decided in whether I want Anelia to die or not. But I probably might consider that after maybe 2nd or 3rd expansion pack after A Realm Reborn/Heavensward. I feel that there is still a plot potential to move on for her, but I want her to at least see the possibility of Garlemald falling apart (Even though that may be really for a long time). I am perfectly okay with killing off my other characters. Perhaps I want Mizuho to stay alive until the end too. But this hasn't been really a good subject to talk about for me, because I am always the type of "Kill em all Tomino" style of writer when I make a plot.

Even if it isn't extra rooms, I wish they can have a personal room permit to expand the size like have upstairs like small houses. But then, small houses need to be bigger if this happens.

There is that one time, ...actually couple of times. Where a tank asks for a stoneskin and then the healer doesn't give the tank stoneskin but protect - the tank decides to leave because he/she didn't get stoneskin. And then you wait for 40 mins to get another tank. Yeah, happened 4 times. Just not same person.

Ok but you got to factor in the fact that it costs RL money for a Fantasia, and some of us might not have enough money to get one or two. Maybe I misread or was just presumptuous; I thought this was gonna be a forum role-play since body-switching would be kind of odd to do in-game since it can't really be portrayed without Fantasias, either. Either way, if it was just going to be an imagined change anyway, Fantasias wouldn't actually be necessary regardless. It IS forum RP. This would not be done in-game; it would be done in the Town Square and it would be like an open thread. Then... why would people have to pay money for Fantasia potions in game...? I think you missed a point in what he said. He was just replying to your April Fools event where he cant do Fantasia because people might not have money to pay for the bottle so he wants to do it through forum so we can pretend to do it.

I think I've felt this a lot in this game's community more than any other MMORPGs to be a bit more hostile environment and I've felt a bit hurt a lot too. I can't say if I am hurt or feel aggravated, but this community in terms of roleplaying itself seems a bit too much to me sometimes. I've taken a break from roleplaying many times from this game due to OOC dramas within group of people, friends, FC and LS. I've been stressed within IRL and people pressuring me wasn't really helping me to stay healthy either. Then there is also couple of times, when I want to enjoy my time to talk with everyone and hang out to do something and think of something to get myself to understand more roleplayers in this game, people just kind of brush it off and then start to make comments which makes me think that I am being attacked. Despite that my English is second language, it's hard for me to comprehend when someone is taking it seriously - and it's hard for anyone to see if I am making a joke or not sometimes either. And that brings a lot of problems. I honestly wanted to make friends in here, and when people do share strong opinions to each other, it happens. But now, I am not quite sure if I even want to get to know anyone in this community at this point because I feel that everyone's too selfish for their own, or they just picked out their own favorites to RP with any not everyone else. Despite that it is just a game, and I shouldn't take it seriously - I try really hard to not take it to another level of snapping and being upset enough to quit the game. I love FF14. No questions asked. It's really matter of whether I want to RP or not anymore since it seems like RP drama happens more than regular gaming drama. I get along with my FC members, and honestly, without them - I don't think I'd play this game any longer due to the fact that there will not be anyone to socialize with in game. I'd go back to WoW or something else for a change (I'd really not go to WoW). IRL wise? I am just a normal guy who just wants to be successful in his life and get a successful career in the future. But in gaming, I'd also want friends in game or RP because it's something I like doing, and majority of the time - I feel like everyone seems to hate me and talk ill things behind my back and I do feel hurt a lot sometimes when many brush me off. Honestly, I really wanted to make friends with people, and sometimes it felt like everyone is really just enjoying their time to pick a fight with me. I personally do not like bullying, and I'll defend someone from being bullied if it goes over the line sometimes, and then I end up being the bad guy for being a mediator. There has been many people I've argued with (passive-aggressive term). I won't mention their names here, and honestly... I don't even want to have grudges with them or hate them. I just want to be friends with everyone, and I am sure I can't make friends with everyone anyways. but even when some of us say we might be "cool" with each other after argument, I feel like they have something against me still behind my back - because they kind of still brush me off even though I want to start a conversation. So I just end up shrugging off, but really. It's not easy to make friends in this game, and it's a bit difficult to just get along. And really? It's just hurting it's own way that I can't really enjoy RP or this game as much as I wanted it to be. tl;dr Honestly, communication is the biggest key to everything. But everyone has a different view in communication too and some people might not even want to communicate with you. And that's pretty rough in the end. Though I am very reasonable person when people talk to me about problems between us. I really try to be because I don't really hate people as I wanted to be.

I am pretty sure you don't need anymore Sworns, but I'll show up if I can. The last year's event was quite fun.

My character Anelia would return to Ul'dah from her long trip in wherever she went MIA on, and will probably end up confronting Jenlyns and other sworns about their quiet attitudes about the whole fiasco that has happened with Nanamo. She'll probably start assuming that something has happened to the Sultana and Syndicate are behind the secrecy to Sultansworns and to the citizens. At this point Anelia starts to pick a fight with Monetarists and Brass Blades, forcing her to be arrested - possibly being interrogated severely and then gets sentenced to be banished from Ul'dah for the rest of her life. From there on, she'll be starting to take a journey with her group of comrades in her company to north to see if they will be helpful to other adventurers.

At this point Solis, if you are planning to make it forum RP like you said, still apply rules before you make a thread and some people might jump on it. Since it seems like it'll be [Open] based RP anyways.

Break it halfway through the plot. And? What would happen? On another note, I freaking hate that a single topic did indeed derail SO MUCH. I was just pitching a concept, and it became a freaking battle here. I was actually thinking it was one of the more civilized threads I've seen that went wrong. People are discussing and arguing points of view. Not needless name calling and tearing each other down. You pitched a concept and the community responded. If I was in your place, I'd get everything in order, rules, guidelines, event coordinators and try again. I think if you'd of done that before hand, it may of went smoother. If he was to put up a rule, I think he'd have done it in an event forum section than RP Discussion section. He just wanted to hear people's opinions to see if they'd be interested or not or even what can be done to be successful for this event to happen at least.
