I haven't played FF12 in such a long time and forgot about geographical region of it too, but wasn't Ranabastre capital of Dalmasca? I figured they'd place Dalmasca as south east of Othard to attach with Ranabastre to make reference of FF12 and Ivalice, but unless they are going differently since it is FF14?

Seems like I wasn't too far off when I assumed that there would be like similar outer shoreland to Vylbrand for Doman region. Kind of helps me to rewrite my Doman character more and finally samurai yay!

discussion Your thoughts on jump potions?
Aldotsk replied to Parth Makeo's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I am pretty sure it pains Yoshi-P to see his fans pay illegally for powerlevel and MSQ skip service spending $150 per level 1-60 including $100 for MSQ lol. I can't really say it's a money grab when it's way cheaper than WoW jump level service and also to prevent RMT from doing more activities -
discussion Your thoughts on jump potions?
Aldotsk replied to Parth Makeo's topic in FFXIV Discussion
People like myself who has a lot of alts and want to level them up without requiring to do the MSQ all over again, and not wanting to grind leveling other classes every.single.time do want this to happen. No matter what happens. I understand that some people will find it unfair and it is true. People have put lots of efforts than I do and they came this far, and some how new players are abusing this jump potion to skip MSQ and classes.... but I have plenty of IRL friends who skipped MSQ doing this manually and don't care about story or plot at all. They just want to play with friends and catch up to do contents. And if there are any new players who start when Stormblood comes out, it'll be extremely difficult for them to catch up from 2.0 MSQ to 3.55 MSQ because like McBeef said: MSQ 2.0 - 2.55 were hell boring and pointless. MSQ 3.0-3.50 currently right now is definitely bearable. It's honestly their money that they are spending. If they want to not pay and are willing to go through the whole game experience, then what's there to hurt? I originally hated the idea when WoW implemented jump level on your one character (and paid service afterwards) during Warlords of Derpland. But I learned after Legion, that I have so many games to play and won't have time to spend too much time and effort to catch up with my friends - I'd rather just pay the extra service with some money to play with them. This is same situation I am in right now. So my verdict? I fully support jump potion whether it is one class/three class or even MSQ jump potion. -
In regards to Padjal teaching non Padjali conjurers to become WHM, wouldn't that kind of imply that we should accept role players to RP as WHMs eventually considering that there will be increase of apprentices and teachings by these newly full fledged WHMs? Of course, this would actually apply after like few years in game persay including after like one or two more expansions? (Or even now since it's probably after few years from ARR)

I think best way to assume about how they'll reveal the fate of limiting Dragoon population is probably just wait until Heavensward completely ends. It might end up like FFXI where you can see more Dragoon ranks with dragon by your side, or it might end up where no Dragoons are allowed at all permanently. But until then, just enjoy what you play as right now. Even if something goes bad, don't let it stop you guys from RPing as Dragoon honestly.

So I'll just repost this image here from the TC. It says "Order is normally comprised of thirty", but it doesn't say "Order was originally established and started with thirty". What if they reduced it from hundred to thirty to ten as time passed by? This whole Dragonsong War and war against dragons was a very very long battle. If you look at Coerthas Western Highlands, you see bunch of lances on the ground. We can pretty much tell that Ishgardian Templar Knights AND Dragoons were actually fighting there. The book exists to give us some basic enlightenment of information to help us to make a creative character. NOT exist as Code of Hammurabi to follow their rules or get our character's head chopped off for such information. It's a REFERENCE book for our enjoyment to read. Not Ten Commendments. What if the soulstones that were unable to pass down were lost in those blizzard wind and mist, and were sunk underneath those glacier lake? While I understand that the book gives us information about what the current status of Eorzea is, but none in the book implies as "it is impossible to attain such job and the cannot be at all attained because the book says so." There are like only few who are going to be strict about what's in the book and call you out. But there are plenty of others who will accept and appreciate on your character backgrounds as long as it is creative and you are fun to RP with. I think we all know which type we want to mingle with in this case. Don't retcon yet. It's not fully confirmed that it is impossible to become a Dragoon unless you are one of those ten or Warrior of Light.

Merchant line was probably the worst thing I've seen out of all cons I've been in my life. There is no reason for me or anyone to get someone and wait for 5-6 hours to miss out of most events. I ended up doing it anyways. I didn't miss any panel, but it doesn't mean I got to sit down and relax. Friday was the only day I could be at Fanfest and I didn't get to do any Hildebrand event because of merchant line. For some reason during the middle of the day, staffs cut off and said they weren't accepting anymore people. So people started leaving by giving up. Then again, the line gets formed up once more as the staffs allowed them to go again. There were others who waited for 5 hours before me and gave up because of this stunt and then they had to wait all the way in the back of the line AGAIN. Like, really? I've been waiting from 3-5:30 pm PDT and then the staff stopped me saying that they can't bring more people to go to the merchant until next day and hands us the red ticket as first come first serve between 10 to 2 pm. And I was like, "I really can't do that. I've got flight to catch in the morning", and the staff was understanding enough to let me be the last one to get the items at merchant line. Luckily, I got myself some pins and books. But boy it doesn't feel extremely achieved because this merchant line could have been better. And the whole Hildebrand reward seems like very unrewarding to some folks I've met since they said first fanfest was much better with rewards. I agree if people got shirts out of the events. Lastly, if anyone won the cactpot, you basically get GeForce GTX 1060 founders card with bunch of other digital loots apparently (from Facebook source) - and no, I didn't win sadly. I might give next fanfest a chance, but if the merchant line or events are as messy as this year, I might just leave it off with live stream instead.

-----Possible Spoilers and spoiler related discussion warning. If you don't want to be spoiled because you haven't done most of the FFXIV contents past 2.0 or 3.0, and even after 3.3, please click back button! But anyways, get the book! It'll be up at Square Enix store on October 17th 2016 for $50!----- I actually waited on that terrible merchant line at FanFest 2016 for this book, and boy do I feel like I've got a treasure book. (No. But the Fanfest 2016's merchant line was the worst thing that Fanfest ever delivered and planned out by staff members. 5-6 hours of wait to get few items?) Anyways, the book itself is just plainly amazing in regards to all of the details that you ever questioned about the Final Fantasy XIV lore from 1.0 to 3.3 (And one more Primal to be revealed for 3.5!) It also explains about all of the character's first and last names instead of their titles such as "Ilberd of the Dullblade", and actually has his own surname. And who would have thought Nael van Darnus was actually a dark version of Joan of Arc, where Nael was originally a female under the guise as Nael from the start ? O_o;; Never have anyone. Kinda blew my mind. It also details all of the pre 1.0 history in general like the Allagan Empire, Amdapor, Great Flooding, and has its own official timeline. Politics, organizations, and factions are also well detailed by history and their political and religious beliefs. Even non grand company factions like Sharlayans, Garlean Empire, and Ala Mhigo are explained very well too. Even the relic weapons, Esoteric Gears and job gears have their own story backgrounds. Jobs have their own history in details. This might actually help out for those who want to make their character backgrounds They also explained Othard cities besides Doma, which they did write Dalmasca in that paragraph. Its cover has a very cool looking design, like if you've just picked the book directly from Great Gubal Library. The book itself is about 300 pages, and I've barely read each of them. In fact, it'll take a while for me to intake a lot of these information to understand the FFXIV lores. Keep in mind that this book is not "perfect" book since the story is still on-going and expansions are still on-going. The lore and book will always be updated and we will probably see another one of these in second version (different designs with larger version of the book). But this is even worth of getting even right now since it has plenty of good information as it is. It has a minion pet code included in this book, but let's face it. We all Roleplayers had been dying to grab this kind of book for a very long time. Don't hesitate to pick it up on October 17th at Square Enix store!

discussion [Spoilers] 3.4 MSQ Discussion Thread
Aldotsk replied to GhostlyMaiden's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I kept making assumptions that Yda might actually be the daughter of King Theodric of Ala Mhigo and is last heir to Ala Mhigo. She never showed her face, and the way she panicked at the end of 3.4 in Southern Thanalan where that Ala Mhigan guy recognizes Yda and talks about him knowing her father and all kind of hints something related to royal blood of Ala Mhigo. (and Yda did use Final Heaven at 2.55 story which I think only WoL and Theodric are the only ones that could have used that kind of power besides her) Also Griffin obtaining Nidhogg eyes makes me think that Nidhogg will come back....again by 3.5 to 3.55 last time. Except it won't be Ishgard once more, but different approach. And yes, I did see Nidhogg spirited away in the sky at the end of 3.3, but it does not mean a spirit can't come back down once more x_x And Alisae's rune blade seems like it's a Limit Break lvl 3 of some new class that is accessible for 4.0 in the future. Except I doubt it'll be Alisae that will be teaching us the new class/job. Possibly Red Mage or Blue/Rune Mage? -

FFXIV's next expansion to be revealed during October Fanfest

SAMURAI SAMURAI SAMURAI SAMURAI SAMURAI SAMURAI SAMURAI SAMURAI .. What? I can dream, can't I? :C :C :C -
Going with someone who never played FF14 and got a ticket for her too.
-
Confirmed that the tickets do have service fee instead of taxes. But it's like about 7%.
-
For that part, I would think they'd require someone to show their ID upfront with DOB and information just in case they know that you aren't selling the Fanfest pass third party basis.
-
Were there any taxes included? I dont think I see the taxes based from that. I suppose it'd be NV tax base then.
-
Hey did anyone go to Fanfest 2014 before? If so, how much taxes did they charge for two tickets? I am curious about it because I needed to know before I pay upfront for two tickets today.
-
I disagree, while I love playing as Mei - Mei is quite a low tier enough to be not needing for a nerf =| There is almost a lot of McCree players and they tend to outplay more than Reaper/Soldier 76 and somtimes Scrubstion.
-
I was also hoping to slightly balance nerf Hanzo to match with nerfed WM as well since Hanzo's arrow can hurt a lot still (I dont mean his ulti) Tbh, Hanzo having twice the hitbox on characters than anyone else is what makes him so powerful. Probably why I have huge issues about that, and it should be slightly nerfed to balance it out. And DVa needs more love.
-
Actually, the 100% charge rifle on the foot is pretty strong that your HP drops to 20-40% as normal character. Then closer to the chest is 80-100% damage depending on the character. Tanks take 40-50% damage. Widowmaker's charge shot was too ridiculous even without headshot. So that's the biggest reason people complained about WM's damage. I was also hoping to slightly balance nerf Hanzo to match with nerfed WM as well since Hanzo's arrow can hurt a lot still (I dont mean his ulti)

https://www.vg247.com/2016/06/14/overwatch-gets-new-patch-details-changes-to-mccree-and-widowmaker/ “McCree was performing too well against all targets, making him feel like a must-pick in many situations,” the patch notes read. In response, Blizzard decreased alternative fire bullet damage from 75 to 45, while increasing recovery time to 0.3 seconds. “By reducing the damage of his alternate fire, McCree is now significantly weaker against tanks like Roadhog and Reinhardt, but still maintains his lethality against smaller targets like Tracer and Genji.” Meanwhile, Widowmaker’s scoped shot damage has decreased from 15 to 12, although the damage multiplier is unchanged. Players also have to wait for the unscoping animation to finish before scoping again, and the Infra-Sight Ultimate cost was raised by 10%. The good news is the headshot damage multiplier has beenincreased to 2.5x.

Staying on the topic in regards to blood drive, Florida's Chik-Fil-A have offered free food and drinks for all people who have participated to donate blood in One Blood donation center. Pretty amazing that they did. (Mind you, Chik-Fil-A being anti-gay is not all true. There are plenty of LGBT supporters in NYC CFA as employees and the company and the head CEO is religious, but the most chains and employees accept all customers with no discrimination. But that statement and discussion is for another thread if people want to make it as a debate.) There has been plenty of chain companies that show the same sympathies too. Some people have offered free funeral service in Orlando for the tragedy.
-
I can see this thread being gone pretty soon since it's getting close to personal insults and cursing at each other. =/
-
While I feel like I agree with you since this is your thread that you started to show people to share their sympathies, but the thread name was quite misleading as if you wanted us to start discussion about how we feel in the shooting. You did post the rules later, but maybe you should change the thread name to more like: "Sympathizing Pulse Mass Shooting". But I shouldn't really be telling you what to do since it's your thread. In threads like these, it's likely to happen that some people will bring up politics, religion, or something sensitive because the tragic news like this is not something that people will just let go easily. It's a very thin ice subject.

7 Dead, 33 Injured in Chicago Shootings ... Like this is getting a bit out of hand. I honestly think tragedies like this is not making it a lot easier to sympathize for the lost ones or injured ones but instead point fingers at the people who are responsible. Such as fire arms, and ethnicity and religion. But really... can't we just relax for once and not harm anyone for a very long time?
