What do we want? A performer's linkshell. When do we want it? SOON. TL;DR, friends: I'd like to propose an idea of a LS for connecting performer-characters IC and OOC. I know there are a few FCs that focus on performance or do it actively -- I want to hear from you! I want to start amassing a merry troupe of misfits for creative collaboration. HOW YOU CAN HELP. I will be reaching out to those of you that handle performances over the next few weeks and scouting talent at ongoing events. For the LS to really take off, I'd like to start with a good core group interested in putting together projects and sharing ideas. I wanna see things like IMPROMPTU JAMS, band formations, mentorships, music instrument and nipple tassle smuggling-- you get the idea. I don't want this to be bard-exclusive. Any acts, including stand-up comedy, sword swallowing (and yes, interpretive dance) would be welcome. The idea is to have this big resource for creative-inclined characters that love to perform and entertain -- and want to give back to the community OOCly by connecting with FC and personal-hosted events. WHAT I DO NOT WANT TO DO. While I'd love to join (or form) a FC, that's just not in the cards right now. I am confident my community-bouncing can reap fruit, and have experience with hosting events across MMOs prior. I'd also like to offer a chance for unaffiliated characters and newer players to meet like-minded characters and get some rockin' fun RP on. I'd also hate to step on anyone's shoes here-- I'm still getting my bearings, so please let me know if I am!

Yes! Hit me right up. While Marcy doesn't hate cats per say there is definitely some ingrained low-key racism he mostly channels through condescension and asking if Miqo'te shave their ears. Marcy is the Wildwoodest Wildwood and pretty indignantly firm on keeping Gridania pure (even though he does not live there anymore). He's also pretty sure he's going to handle a bow better than someone little under five feet so naturally someone needs to put him in his place.

Just a heads up! I've tried to contact everyone I could -- so if I missed you, don't be shy to toss me a PM or whisper me in game. My availability is going to be a bit scarce in the following weeks. I have a major presentation and three large paintings to finish (yay!) which are currently sucking out all my will to live (boooo). I'm still on during evenings (PST), generally leveling or wasting money on pretend clothes, so say hi!

[align=center][/align] CAMP DRAGONHEAD Same dream again. Crystals form in a matrix. They spread in a fractal pattern, each multiplying on top of another like branches in a tree, as the thing that fed them disappears they blister in defiance with sharp edges and thin lines and clots of hard, cold glass. It starts in my stomach and spreads to my esophagus, pushes through my throat and tears past my vocal cords. The aether is strong and endless, something big had to have split to let it all out. Small shards fall out of my mouth, coated with me, coated with my acid and blood. They glow a faint green that only makes me sicker, some knob turns in the base of my spine, and I vomit again. I think, I'm gonna lose my voice. They grew them inside of me. Every song filled and swelled the spaces between my cells and as I walked off, exhausted, unable to even see the steps of the stage the memory seeped into the crystals and let them take it away. They must have done it when I was asleep, dreaming, (about spitting) A candle burning twice as bright burns twice as fast, and I was lit on both ends. It's been two years clean. The aether calls. There is nothing growing inside of me anymore, just an empty pit begging to be filled. I'll just have to let it happen, I suppose. XX.XXX.XXXX [align=center][/align]

I know we've just met, but you're a really cool egg! I've enjoyed Zhavi's profile immensely (dirty street rat cats stole my heart), and from what RP I've seen posted here, you can really nail a character and a story. Also, excellent music taste.

It's so amazing to see how supportive this community is of events and performers. You are all so active and inspiring and helpful. I don't think I have any more questions, but advice is still appreciated! There are lots of things I haven't thought about (re: the chat eating messages), and I'm sure there are more. Performance/bard things was not a direction I expected for Marcy but after attending a few shows hosted by you guys it's something I am really stoked for. Maybe we'll catch each other in game IC and OOC, feel free to add me!

Hi friends! So against my best intentions it looks like I am going to write a bard. I've been to a few events now, and I'd really love to figure out how to sync chat scroll to music -- I'm new to the game, and macros are a bit of a mystery. Those of you that play bards doing performances IC: do you use these? What are some of the challenges with trying to translate pre-written song to text? The few times that I've done it in other games I just copy-pasted lines, but I kind of want to attach those to movements/in game effects at some point as well. And on that note, do any of you write your own things? Music or lyrics? It would be cool to see some kind of LS for performers, I think, share trade secrets, organize shows for other FCs, etc. I'm considering it, unless there is one already.
