Question! I have a friend coming to support my character but they are not looking to draw any attention (because they are taken) do they just make sure not to wear red, blue, or purple? Or is there a colour they can wear that shows they are single? Let me know thanks!

So it the template in the templates page on the wiki under Suen still a template allowed to be used as it is different now? I originally was creating my wiki page from the original one it was and when I noticed it changed I rather like the layout (although I would add my own graphics and style to it so not to copy) but I just wanted to clarify if it is still a free to base off template. I LOVE :love: this thread idea and am sooo glad that their are other's out there who us motives and character goals to drive their characters actions as I do. If I personally never did this, I would end up with the disaster that was my first RP character ever back many years ago when I started on an anime forum back in like, grade 8. I personally don't have a theme though. What I learned in creative writing was that a theme was the idea or moral that drove a story plot, and what drives a character to fulfilling the stories themes and interacting in it was the characters motives and/or over goals in the story as usually, many characters in a story drive a story plot even though the protagonist is the main driver of the wheel. But that is just me. Anyway, so for Elza, I would say her overall goal is to become STRONGER if summed in one word. But there are a couple different ways in which she plans to achieve this. Below is the 3 specific ways she plans to achieve this or is being driven to. but I would mainly use the word DETERMINATION for her main attribute that gives her the ability to try and achieve her goals. She wants to become stronger and more powerful as a Healer (Conjurer), and her love for others and the earth are her motives for this. As well, she wants to mentally and emotionally become stronger, and her love interests/attractions/ and close friends help is what has be the drive for this. And lastly, physically stronger as she knows in her line of work she won't last to long not being able to defend herself or fight when needed, so basically survival is her motive here. So since that was very wordy I will sum it up here basically. Elza's main goal is to become STRONGER as a Healer, mentally, and physically, and the biggest thing that is driving her is her DETERMINATION. :love:

We will be weekly. :3 Fridays will be a normal gathering night, Thursdays are for specialty events like a V-day party. : ) I would also like to possibly start a Grindstone after party where the winner of the Grindstone gets free drinks and sits on a throne, buuuut the throne might have to wait until we upgrade our house and I would need to speak to those who run the Grindstone to make us an official after party spot. My miqo'te, Elza, also lived in isolation in the woods. This made her socially shy and awkward around strangers, but due to this she also kept to herself a lot, and her mom was not anything but a dancer, but she was literate and could read and write fine growing up in the city. So she had tons of time to teach Elza in the woods. However, I did think about this before hand and I believe characters can be illiterate if your backstory makes sense.

You might say that someone she knows suckered her into going and left her out to dry, or skewed what it actually was as something else. These are usually open ended enough to leave room for doubt without being overly deus ex in terms of the character them self.

I really want to take Elza to this event tonight, but she is very shy and socially awkward to new people and strangers, so those problems would make it pretty impossible for her to go to something like this were she knows she would have to try and talk to people and get scared. HOWEVER, I want her to go because even though she isn't looking for a steady relationship right NOW as she (and me) are very new to the game, finding male Keepers are actually hard in game. (Which actually correlates with the lore as more female Keepers are supposedly born anyway) So I want a couple contacts in her pocket for future interests with her. Can someone help me think of a motive for my character to come to this? Thanks!

Hey thanks everyone! That definitely makes sense in terms of the Grindstone! I like how the random works. That really makes it fair, cause I was always worried about someone not taking any hits cause they want to win kinda deal so that makes me really happy. And I will let you know if I catch you in game Unarmed Mercenary! And thank you for the offer Rixho! I was actually trying to steer away from archery only because for my skills in writing action I feel it would be the hardest for me and action writing is already somewhere I struggle in. HOWEVER Elza is a great Conjurer, but has no strength. So she must find an agile and dexterous weapon and the bow would probably be the best fit. So I will let you know what she ends up choosing to use.

So basically, I have bothered to really dabble in the ways of 'Combat RP' but I really want to get into it for FFXIV as the events I have observed and the little bits my FC has been showing me are quite fun. However, I am still intimidated by RP it in events such as the Grindstone. So I was wondering if someone could possibly give Elza a few pointers? (basically combat RP with Elza in training so I can get some tips of action writing, how the tournament goes and rules and etc. Post here or PM me if you would be awesome and would like to help out!

Hey all! I just realized I still never actually posted one of these yet! So, here is mine! Please feel free to PM me of send me a TELL in game if you are interesting in some RP with Elza. She needs some character development and story plotting going on! lolz I. Basic Info Characters: Elza Fairhan (for now) Primary character: Elza Fairhan Linkshells: Wayfarer's of Eorzea (WoE) Primary RP linkshell: Wayfarer's of Eorzea (WoE) [*]II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light to Heavy. It really depends on who I am RP with, and where, the event, etc. But in terms of lore, I try to maintain it, and in terms of that sense I would say I am mostly medium/heavy. Most of my serious leveling however has been pretty much OOC due to when I take a session to level, I power level. Views on RP combat and injuries: Light injures I would say. And I plan RP combat further into Elza's story because 1. I am still pretty bad at it, but I want to learn as it sounds like it is actually fun (and done fairly) in this game. And 2. Because Elza hasn't really fought anyone offensively before. She has encountered a few Primal fights in the woods and desert here and there, but she doesn't feel it is right for her to conjurer offensively unless necessary for her or someone else's life. (Hoping to incorporate another class for this into her storyline at some point) Views on IC romance: I believe if the time is right and it naturally happens between two characters. It also depends on if my character ends up wanting one or is a part of their life goals. However, I am NOT into ERP. I don't mind some suggestive stuff, but ERP is a WHOLE different scope of NO for me. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Is a MUST. Characters need other characters in their life to drive their plot, help character development, and make the RP FUN. However, I find family ties are hard to come by, as they usually start with a backstory you make yourself for you character. Views on lore: I follow it as much as possible. I am still new to the game, so I have been learning as I go and when I do learn something new, I apply it and follow it. So if I make a mistake regarding lore, just correct me as I would not try to break it on purpose and so I can know that new fact of knowledge for the future. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Basically unless at a specific RP event, in a RP hub (like the Quicksand), or pre-arranged, I will respond OOC for the most part. For me, there is a time and place for RP. But if you walk up to me IC I will still respect that and respond IC as well. [*] III. Hey! I would like to join it! I have a great FC with events, but when I want to find other people to RP with, it is hard due to the randomness of the Quicksand (and it also being a large lag centre as well) I will contact the leaders in game!

I guess I meant is it impossible while following the Lore specifically. However, I am just choosing to lvl her up in White mage so I can have access to lvl 60 in that, but she is just gonna be a really powerful conjurer/healer IC and she will not use spells learned by the white mage IC. I am happy with this decision...her basic goal is to be a really helpful healer, so I guess the title does not matter. (I just liked the title white mage better due to previous FF games is all)
