1. Had to leave early, but just wanted to say thanks for hosting this event!
2. Thank you! And I look forward to it as well. n__n I'm hoping to have some really fun ones to offer those willing to lend an ear.
3. Thanks, that's sort of the feeling I have as well. I want Zha'li to really cone to life in game through RP. Hopefully he can make some of those slow days interesting for those around him. Ahhh... very good points. I'll definitely work to round those out more. This is why I need someone outside my head to poke me. =)
4. Chocobo forever! Why they didn't make this a class I don't know! But thanks so much, glad nothing stands out as glaringly wrong. I think at this stage, trying to get into RP with two characters would overwhelm me, so he's slated for NPC. That said, having him as a PC would be interesting as well.
5. Hello... new Keeper of the Moon to be here (yes, another, the Miqo'te being rare was a lie! u__u). I've gotten some great feedback from my mentor so far, so I thought perhaps it might be ok to officially ask others for their thoughts as well. I know most feedback threads I've seen put the text here... but I feel bad making giant posts (and the use of the spoiler cut seems to baffle me). So while I feel bad sending people to my wiki, the info looks much nicer there? Zha'li's wiki When it comes to the 'traveling Hyur' tied into his story, I'd like to keep it somewhat flexible. I'm not certain just what path I want to take with the man (Coincidental meeting? Sinister intent? Benign? Is he a Garlean on the run and in hiding?). Suggestions or thoughts for him are welcome, though Zha'li is the focus of course! Also, if anyone likes him enough to want to collab any connections, that'd be fun, too. Circles of friends are wonderful.
6. Welcome! I've been the same way about RP in games too, so hopefully we both don't chicken out. n__n your character is adorable... unless he doesn't want to be called that.
7. Visiting The Wanderer and Visiting Oschon sound great, it'd be fun if those caught on. I may try to use those, too, if that's ok. n__n Seems like the Twelve pepper speech quite a bit based on the responses here.
8. How is it I can't remember speaking to a single Lala NPC? X] But good to know... Lala alliteration... some 'pirate speak' in Limsa... the Miqo'te aitches... fun stuff. n__n There must be more. 8-)
9. Hello and welcome! I'm also hoping to find a nice group on here, and muddling my way about learning the ins and outs. The mentor thread is great if you haven't checked it out yet. I doubt I can answer much as a newbie, but feel free to ask me things if you want. n__n
10. 31 years old and married here, without a creative writing class to my name. X] While I'm new to mmo RP (I'm saying that way too often on these forums), I've done forum RP for... at least 7-8 years. I'm happy to RP with people of all ages. I love to play any sort of character, finding fun it fitting into new roles. Nervous to start off here, bit I'm sure it'll be lots of fun.
11. Sounds good to me! x] Thankfully I've found a great mentor from the mentoring thread, so I'm feeling more comfortable about things. Having someone else to chat and plan and figure things out with would be great and welcome. Sure! I still pop on there to kill a dragon now and then. The handy part of no sub fee I suppose. =/
12. Welcome! I'm in a very similar situation as you are (even play(ed) GW2 as well), so I understand how you feel! Everyone here (as you've seen I'm sure) is really nice and helpful.
13. My apologies if I've missed a thread for this, I looked about but came up empty handed. I saw a thread on cursing, which was rather fun and informative. x] Not quite what I was seeking though. In the very small taste of the world I've gotten from the beta so far (meaning Gridania and one dialog in Ul'dah), I haven't really noticed too much difference in the way characters speak. There seems to be 'formal' and 'common'. When I get to play I imagine these questions will become more clear, but perhaps those more experienced might know: Are there common greetings/farewells/etc used in the game? Would a greeting in Gridania differ from one from Ul'dah and so on? Are there regional or racial dialects prominent in the game at all? Are there any race or region specific sayings? I'll likely be inventing a few sayings specific to my Keeper's tribe, but I'm curious to know if there's any fun flavors to speech already out there.
14. I'm sure those with more experience can provide better feedback than I, but I also really like this. The seriousness of the Sejlwaht contrasts nicely to me with the 'doofy' personality you give him. Gives lots of room for serious and lighthearted roleplay.
15. I. Basic Info Characters: Zha'li Vael Primary character: Zha'li Vael Linkshells: The Whispered Spiral, CTPA Primary RP linkshell: The Whispered Spiral II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I'll probably sit around the medium level of RP, shifting either way as the need or mood strikes. I do, however, want to play through game content, preferably in character. Views on RP combat and injuries: I think the persistence of injuries and consequences to actions lasting makes an RP more interesting. While I'm not certain I'd enjoy RP combat, if things were worked out clearly ahead of time I might be game. Permadeath doesn't sound appealing at all. Even if leaving the game, I'd want my characters to remain just in case I come back. Views on IC romance: I'm perfectly willing to roleplay romance if it comes about organically. That said my current character (Zha'li) is not seeking romance, and likely wouldn't engage in anything serious without his mother (the tribe matriarch) giving her blessing. As it matters to some, I'm a married female IRL. I keep a clear barrier between IC and OOC, and am willing to roll with various gender pairings. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I would really love to have some non-romantic ties, so please send me a PM or let me know if you'd like to! I would prefer it planned out ahead of time so that my character can, you know, actually recognize his old friends or family when they approach him. Views on lore: I love lore. I'm new to FFXIV, so I'm doing what I can to catch myself up on it of course, but I do try to keep characters within lore. A couple important notes: I believe in considering the in-game story and mechanics as a part of the lore when at all possible. I also believe in exploring concepts and possibilities not explicitly laid out. If Square hasn't specified something, then I find a bit of theorycrafting fun. If Square later does something to prove me wrong, then I'll adapt. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): A newbie to MMO RP, I'm going to pick this up as I go I think. Seems most use parenthesis or brackets for OOC, so I'll likely follow suit. I won't RP in shout, largely because the shout channel in general is invasive to me. III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: PST (I think that's -8 GMT) Contact info: PMs are always welcome, I'm not scary in the least~ [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]

I'm just another newcomer here myself, but welcome! n__n Thanks for the pie, too! ;D
17. I tend to play elves, and played an Elvaan in XI, but I remember back then wishing to play a male Mithra, and I suppose that stuck around for XIV. I can be rather fickle, and the silliest things will put me off a race (for example, I was really wishing the femRoe would be much bigger than they ended up, I'm sad ). I haven't found too many races in most games that have lore I can't work with, so anything's a possible choice for me.
18. Hello! =) I'm new here, so seems silly to say welcome or anything, but welcome all the same. And... I have to agree, love your character.
19. Played on Coerl for the first weekend of phase 3 (not having come here first to find out which server had RP! ooops), good to know I should hop to Gilgamesh until non-legacy can sneak onto Balmung. x]
20. Thanks so much! Ah, that's what I'd somewhat gathered, but I'll certainly be watching as much as I can to get a good solid feel for it. =)
21. I hate being the third 'planning to play a male Keeper of the Moon' post in a row... but yes... I am... That said, I would really love someone experienced with the game and well versed in the lore to talk to about some of my ideas (utterly new to FFXIV, though I am in the beta... even if it's just causing more questions)... and well, just about going about things like where to post what and such in general. n__n; I'm a bit overwhelmed roaming through posts and trying to figure things all out, so PMs would be very lovely.
22. Thanks for the welcome! From what I've seen posted so far everyone looks very friendly and helpful. Hopefully I can craft a nice fun character.
