Wayfarer's Gift Giveaway: Starlight Celebration Giveaway!!!
Ryslo Suramlo replied to RiniKett's topic in Chronicled Events
This is extremely generous and all I can say is I wish I could give back in return! Perhaps one day I can pay it forward, as of now i'm a fairly new toon! Good luck to everyone and again thank you! -
I love the Final Fantasy XI Red Mage. It was my love. Being a back up healer, doing debuffs and of course the constant cry for 'Refresh' and 'Haste'. Who doesn't love a big rimmed hat with a large feather! Though.. it not being a support class does deter me slightly I may still pick it up as my choice for DPS when I'm in the moon (and potentially utilize it for RP if the outfits are stylish ) Other then that, Healer is where my Heart is.

Coming to join the fun, but I have a few questions first~
Ryslo Suramlo replied to Eri's topic in Welcome Desk
As other have said so far with Balmung being as congested as it is server transfers are also being blocked at the moment of this post (I have a friend that has to wait, so in the meantime they are getting through the story, learning their class and just taking their time). This part can be a bit daunting but I recommend taking it all in slowly, learn about crafting, learn about combat, Getting your Mount, doing Dungeons and the works. Once transfers are allowed again and you thoroughly enjoying yourself I would then recommend Balmung. The Community here is most welcoming and they have been since the game relaunched (I have no prior experience of what it was like before hand). I wish you a warm welcome though and hope you the fairest of journey's. Enjoy the ride, and I'm certain this game will be with you for a long while. Can you verify this? Although it says transfers to Balmung aren't allowed, you can indeed initiate and complete them last I checked a few months back (for the $18). The SE site discription for transfers is erroneous. Balmung's currently selectable. There have been short instances where even server transfers were blocked, but I think those are usually due to maintenance windows as opposed to actual capacity. (For now) There ya go! I wasn't certain myself and wasn't going to say it was indefinitely closed. Thank you for the clarification. Silly Square Enix and their rather odd way of addressing an issue. -

Ya I had a friend try to transfer her character last evening to the Balmung Server (She was going to pay for a transfer, she did claim she couldn't select the Balmung server from the list) She said she couldn't so I advised her to put in a ticket. The Moderator responded with: "The Server is currently not accepting transfer's at this time". It may be a small gap of time, or until next patch that i'm uncertain. All I know is that yesterday she couldn't even select Balmung. -
I've read most of this thread and I can say from my experience as a 'transferred' character I have had no qualms with meeting people randomly in game. It may be the method on which your trying to do so; For example when I go to a Public Event I don't always look for the 'crowded' sections but that one or two people off by themselves. You'd be surprised how much weight that takes off someone when they are approached. I've come to learn that some individuals find a corner and hide, others have their comfort zone and stick to their friends. All this is OK. This is just like the real world, people will always stick to what is most comfortable for them. For me I have no issue walking up to a stranger in character or out and strike up a conversation. Others may find that unnerving. The one thing I will say about this Server (Balmung) it's amazing. The people i've run into have been very accommodating and sure I've run into those who don't respond but I shrug it off and move to the next. 9 times out of 10, this discomfort has something to do with ourselves and once we embrace the confidence of just breaking out of that discomfort things become easier. After all just remind yourself its a game, people come from all walks of life and if you can respect that (Not saying you or anyone doesnt) then you should have far greater respect for yourself to be able to stand on your own two feet. I've also been to the Quicksands, there are plenty of people hugging the wall. Just walk up to one of them and I'm sure they'd appreciate the attention and the random encounter you just created because it's almost guaranteed they too want to RP but having trouble breaking into it. The Generalization of the Origin Post of this thread seems to paint a bleak picture but I think being passive is one thing (Typing emotes hoping people will come to you) but being reactive (Going to people who are doing the Passive Act) you'll find the RP plentiful. Regardless of everything else, all one can do is be reactive. Being Reactive to a situation where your looking for RP will aid you in your adventures. The Fish Hooking Emotes though nice and add's atmosphere you may find yourself struggling to get those RP encounters as others may be in the area doing the same just waiting for someone to come to them.

discussion Your thoughts on jump potions?
Ryslo Suramlo replied to Parth Makeo's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Very tough. I think for some people, especially perhaps the established individuals may find Jump Potions sort of distasteful. While newer players (Maybe within the last year and maybe some veteran players) may see the importance of it. I understand the reluctance of the More Established Characters, they had to work through all that content. They had to earn every level and they had to wait for game mechanics and new content along the way. They played through ARR, Heavensward and will most likely play through the new expansion as well. Having Jump Potions for a good number of these players seems like they are being cheated out of all their efforts. I totally get that and respect it. I think we all take pride in the things we do whether its game related or real life and for someone to take a short cut feels kinda crappy. I also understand the acceptance of these Jump Potions. It welcomes newer players by allowing them to play with their friends sooner. It allows them to bypass Week(s) (Depending on how one plays the game) of content to just get started on the new expansion pack leaving a great deal of room there for that player to lose interest since they have to trudge through so much out-dated content. I think for the most part, Jump Potions are meant to ease that tension and try to create a continued subscription to the game long into the future. In hopes that getting people into the action (The new stuff) sooner will keep them with us longer. There are Pro's, There are Con's to both mentalities. I like some of the alternative idea's. Like cutting out the fatty stuff and maybe give an increase in xp via potions as rewards for doing those missions so they still get the story and still can level up a bit quicker along the way. I love that idea myself. Either way can't wait to see what the outcome of it will bring. -
Oh no, Our Free Company is open to everyone. I don't want to accidentally advertise in the wrong area but as I see it's asked I don't think that's considered advertising.. lol. Our Website has all our information about our Free Company [ Here ] As for Joining Linkshells, I think it's always a wonderful idea to have free companies joint by similar causes. If the theme's are all the same it sometimes can be the best way to create a unique atmosphere. I also like the idea of doing joint roleplay with Free Companies that have differing idea's and beliefs too. Its always good to have a little conflict in RP between good and evil, or those stuck in between heh.

Thanks! I plan on getting my Wiki Rp Profile done by the end of Next Week. I can say this much, my little dude (Lalafell) is a Priest more or less from the teachings of the Twelve who believes that action must be taken in their name to preserve the light and sanctity of Eorzea from the encroaching darkness of the Empire and any other threats that may there within reside. Brief snippet but a good one.

Hello everyone! May name is Ryslo Suramlo and I've been on the Jenova server for a very long time, but originally started my adventures here on Balmung at launch. Why the change to Jenova? Friends wanted to explore PVE Content together and Balmung being a Legacy server made it difficult for them to Join. I have recently returned and have brought with me a few good buddies who just started a Free Company Here with me (Balmung). I just wanted to take a moment to say Hi, Introduce myself and extend an invitation to anyone out there that if I'm online and your bored feel free to hit me up. I enjoy the Random Character Interactions.

We are officially open for Business! We just started to recruit and we are a New Free Company to the Server of Balmung. With that said we do not have a Free Company House as of yet but we are in the process of saving up for one when they release more plots in the future. We are also looking for people who are motivated, energetic and ready to start from the ground level to help us build this into something wonderfully Grand! Also, If you own a Free Company we are eager to get in touch with you especially if you run Server Wide Events. We'd love to serve your Event as Body Guards, Security and what not. We plan on being professional if you choose to involve us as we'll be in Uniform and will set ourselves up according to your Free Companies Needs. Anyways, Thank you again and we look forward to being very involved in the Community! The Knights of Eorzea is a Free Company on the Server of Balmung. The Knights of Eorzea was established on December 16th, 2016. Since the inception of the Knight's they have grown from four members to a budding community of 40+. The original concept was to bring a PnP styled RP system to Balmung that both engaged and rewarded the members involved. Since then our RP system has gone over several reiterations all based on the feedback received by the community both past and present members. Our focus is to develop meaningful stories through the participation of multiple user's who partake in events known as 'Chapters'. These Chapters are parts of a whole which is known to the Members of KOE as 'Books'. Not only is our focus on the development of in character engagements but we also participate in PvE elements as well such as Map Runs, Eureka (that is to be released) and generally helping our community get through the content of the game. Lastly, our community holds a Tavern Element to our developed RP culture. This Tavern is more or less an Adventurer's Bar where people can get together (Within and outside our FC) to talk about their ventures, pass along information and even make requests of the our free company to work alongside their own. Joint ventures will be discussed with the leaders of each group and arrangements will also be done this way. Lastly if we are to secure a Mansion our Tavern Nights will also feature a Chapel Evening as well, where people can go to pray to the twelve and/or be around others who's characters share common interest. Our ultimate goal is to make KOE accessible to combat oriented characters as well as non-combat oriented ones in return, blending the two styles together to make a deep and meaningful world on which our characters can embark upon. Leading us to a immersive and interactive engagement all around all while trying to keep social clique's to a minimal but blending people together in unique situations..
