1. Entry IV ** I am free at last from the clutches of Eld's dangerous game. The tale I am about to tell is one that I do with a heavy heart. Nonetheless, I ask you to read it until the end. The last job was one of closure. Using the knowledge obtained by the 'Mountain'. A large group of hired hands, people from the shadows were summoned. One of such people was a Raen that went by the name 'Makoto'. She was a newcomer to this. Draw to the promise of 'saving slaves', she wished to learn from combat. She doesn't know who Eld is. Or cares, for that matter. 'I am not a hero' - She said. Does one need to be one to avoid bloodshed? Is the lure of gil, of blood, so inevitable only a hero can deny it? Before we went to the field, Eld handed me a piece of magitek. A button that would activate black powder previously set. Mobile Detonator. Eld said as long I pressed the button on her order, I would be free from her covenant. I tried to prove to the newcomer Eld's questionable ethics. 'If you do not want to press it. Allow me.' I considered. But then, the words of the one called Jei'me jolted me to a decision. 'You are my hero.' If I passed my responsibilities, no matter how grim to the newcomer. I would only be extending the world of darkness promised by Edl. Whatever came after the button is pressed, it was to be my fate. The group travels to the heart of Thanalan. In the shade, we hide. We had a view of the merchant camp, filled with slavers and their 'goods'. Another Raen woman, Eld's right-hand woman was busy leading people away from the camp. 'Now' - The Roegadyn woman says, venom on her lips. And I press that awful button. A sea of flames, as pure as the malice of the one who set up the black powder. Springs forth in a loud explosion. I couldn't listen to their screams of agony, only a sharp noise ringed over my ears. The smell of charred flesh made me nauseous. There were once merchants and their guards there. Now there are only ashes. I still remember glancing that device. As I ears slowly returned to their natural state, only to hear Eld's satisfied laugh. Did I kill them? No. I was accessory to their murder. I was blackmailed to be in this position. But I did not install the black powder. I did not plan for their death. My role was of the finger, Eld's finger. She did not even try to goad me explaining what this device would do. Yet as I struggled with that fact, it did not change a thing. All that people died that day. With haste, I, the Newcomer and others rushed to save the survivors, mostly slaves. We did combat in the hellish landscape against some guards. Desperate to continue the status quo brought forth by their masters. I did not feel anything but the rush to save as many slaves as I could. Once we defeated our foes and gathered the survivors. I handed 'Makoto' my mask. 'From now on, you are to be the Silver Tongue.' And with that, I walk away from the shadows. Forever changed. But still maintaining my promise to you. I have returned alive. No blood in my hands will keep me away from you. I refuse to let Eld win on her twisted game. But I must seek redemption. On your bosom. ** End of Entry IV - End of the Death Journal
2. Entry III ** Dodo steak. Auntie Eld dared to serve appetizers as me and the large group of hired help waited on the room next door. Dodo steak! As if this job was just another routine for her. She makes threats regarding the lives of those I love and yet, now she serves me Dodo Steak. I have given up in understanding how her mind works. The reason for such a crowd of ruffians and mercenaries soon become clear. We were to create a commotion to a merchant enclave in the heart of the Thanalan. Something about them being slavers. Auntie mentioned there is one man she wishes on her payroll - The "Mountain". A massive Roegadyn. She insisted this guard did not want to be there and could be persuaded. Soon the reason why she is black mailing becomes clear. She wants me to save myself by putting another one in my place. I decide to help. And off to the Thanalan we go. As the crowd of hired rogues created quite the ruckus in the streets, I tried to reason with 'Mountain'. Yet he barely spoke Common. I manage to look like a nonthreat to him. 'Good Man' he said to me, just after he tipped off the guards with a single word - 'Yellow'. They operated under codes. As the guards arrive, we make our escape. No sins were committed that evening. However, how good can be a man who wishes to trade his position with another? ** End of Entry III
3. Entry II ** The first sin I committed wasn't even asked by the hand that drags me further into the dark. Before I delve deep in this tale, some introductions are in order. The one eyed Roegadyn woman is called 'Eld' or how she insists to be called - 'Auntie Eld'. I first met her when she advertised a job, a mission for those in the know. 'Rescue this Raen woman from a grim fate. Bonus if she is alive. Make her forget my face.' I assumed this was a crime lord with a heart. One that would put gil over cruelty. As I return from a successful mission, I confront her about this matter. I needed to confirm she had a heart inside, beyond the layers of greed. Instead, Eld had a strange tirade about how the Raen would suffer a slow death in the streets of Kugane. Today, I've met the daughter of this hateful hag. She was all alone in Ul'dah. Starring at the Moonfire Faire decoration. I decided to talk to the poor thing. She is training to be an alchemist. In her words "Because I know my mother hurt others, I shall help others regain their health and spirit." And there was the first sin I committed. I told the young woman I would help her achieve her goals. I would turn a blind eye to the crimes and suffering the mother causes. As I try to guide the daughter. I am choosing one over the victims of Auntie Eld because I foolish believe there is some good in the dark. The sin of foolishness is the first I commit. Let two others occur. ** End of Entry II
4. (Author's note: Every time a sin is committed, a new entry will be produced.) Entry I ** You are my hero. Were the words spoken by the Desert Rose. Again, as I found myself on the floor with the whole world burning by my hand. She plucks me up. Gives me a reason to keep going forward. Her tears are my fault. I feel the bound pulsating inside me. Choking me. Her smile is what I wish to protect. The only reason to survive is that she said she wanted me to. She needed me to. This is all new to someone like myself. Before the Desert Rose, my life was survival for survival's sake. This is why I am keeping this diary. I am to toss myself in the shadows once again. A hand is forcing me to commit crimes. Two missions, two sins. If you find these book on the cold hands of a Duskwight, bring it to the Goblet's Apothecarium. This is a way of completing my promise to you, Jei'me. Even if I do not return in body. ** End of Entry I
5. >> REAL NAME: Dimitraux Vairemont >> ALIAS: The Silvered Tongue Snake >> GENDER: Male >> AGE: Around 30 years >> HEIGHT: 6'8.5" >> WEIGHT: 155 lbs >>ROLE: Red Mage/Alchemy Assistant >> CONCEPT: A terrible man, from a terrible place, tries to do some good. >> APPEARANCE: - Also, just what he looks in game -> >> PERSONALITY: A slithery, cold individual who keeps his poison inside, brewing. Waiting. His warm and colorful words are a contrast to what he hides inside. A reforming selfish man, only recently he puts an effort to help those around him. His charm is just another weapon in his arsenal. >> HISTORY: Son of Ihadulca, the head of the 'Terrible Seven' all female gang, Dimitraux suffered abuse and worked almost as a slave for the family for half of his life. The other life was lived as a vargrant who lived in the Twelveswood. Recent Updates: After finding a female Migo'te called Yulfe Lhenka and male Wood Waller named Cyrilaux, the Duskwight overheard a conversation about one denying its legacy. Confused and angry, he lashed out at the two. Only for them to try to soothe and help the vagrant. A similar event happened to the Xaela and ally to the league, Hao Dataq. Hao somehow saw potential with the way the Elezen ported himself in public and offered him a donation of one thousand gil so he could better feed himself while pushing him into joining an adventurer guild. It was in the Carline Canopy that Dimitraux made his debut, and it was there he met a band of adventurers who called themselves 'Nophica's Crow' - A fancy name to call those who worked for the Canopy in a more public manner. It was in his early adventurers that he bumped into Jei'me, the mysterious yet elegant alchemist, which he detested at first for having a face that reminded him of Ihaduceme, his eldest sister. Despite his opinions on Jei'me, he saw potential on enlisting her as an alchemist for Nophica's Crown latest adventure - The hunt for the Yellow Miteling. After Juliasra, a Xaela representative of Nuur Khuudas acquired the bounty, the Duskwight aligned himself with the Adventurer's League and tried to do a ploy to acquire Nuur Khuudas attention. Jei'me confronted him, asking his intentions. He reveals it's all for selfish gain, yet the Hyur-Elezen hybrid said she would miss him if he were to leave. She also made a prediction that the ploy would fail. And she was right, despite all pomp and circumstance of an event hosted by Dimitraux, the Nuur Khuudas barely acknowledged his efforts. In a drunken haze with the other members of the League...Dimitraux had a moment of clarity as he was carried on and nursed back to his health by Jei'me herself. Now, a full fledged member who organizes expeditions, one that has found true love, Dimitraux is a proud member of the Adventurer's League. Or this was to be, on their first quest, it appears a phantom of the Duskwight's past is stalking both he and his new friends. >> RECOGNITION: A public figure knows for his sharp tongue, he is Jei'me assistant as well a Carline Canopy regular, sometimes even a clerk. >> CONTACTS: Hao Dataq, Kuro Kuroko, Jei'me K'satria, Cyrilaux, Irathas, L'nimuni Hena, Kinkoz - Are all inner circle friends >> MISCELLANEOUS:Relationship Status: Spoken for Organization:Nophica's Crown, Adventurer's League Favorite Colors: Purple, Grey, White and Green Favorite Place: Gridania Favorite Pastime:Triple Triad, Studying new skills Personal Hero: Jei'me K'satria Hated Foe: Irathas, Yulfe Lhenka, the Terrible Seven, Ul'dah regulars Pets: None >> QUOTES: "What is that you desire?" 6. We'll keep an eye out for you! If there's a time when you're usually on, knowing that would be super helpful! I tend to log really early, then at 11 pm server time onwards you can find me easily.
7. Day 278 - The End of my Oath ** I've done it. I've quite the Sultansworn. Here's how it happened: As I corner the Lalafel thief that had the bounty placed on his head by the Adventurer's guild, I bring forward my blade and shield. There is no escape for the little one, only swift retribution or at least that was what I had in mind. The dunesfolk slowly turns around to face me. He blinks as my surprise brings him despair. Yet in his beady eyes, I saw it again - Silver Mountain. The visage of that no good thieving scum was just like Silver's. Instead of a foe and a criminal, it was like my lost partner was looking at me through the criminal's eyes. The hole in my heart widens for a moment. I froze up. Screwed it really bad. He was quick to escape my ambush, disappearing in the Ul'dah crowd. I caught glimpse of my dumbstruck face on my reflection in the sword I had on hand. Shame - that's all I had on me. This was unacceptable to one that claims to be a Sultansworn, unacceptable for one who made an oath. I am ill and I could not continue operating under the order. So I gave them my blade, my crystal and even my shield. I long for my arena days, but I cannot set foot inside the coliseum without remembering the sound of his voice or the chants of the crowd: "Twin Mountains! Twin Mountains!" Without my brother, I'm half a gladiator. Said sorrow brought me to the inn, where I may have drunk a bit too much. My drinking partner had to leave earlier, he had a "Sparring match today at the Pugilist guild." I insisted on following him. And while I was still dizzy from what I drank earlier so the details are foggy at best, I know I ended up joining said guild before the night was through. They asked me to go Thanalan and slay some monsters, practice the basics they taught me. Feeling the evening sun kissing my face once again as I walk all alone through the sands brings me a sense of nostalgia from a time I operated alone and sold my bodyguard services to traveling merchants. Perhaps that is what I've been reduced to. At least, the pain subsided for now. ** ((Hope I'm not breaking any lore here, feel free to message me if you spot an inconsistency and I'll fix it right away. I'm new to Eorzea, despite playing it back when the game first released.)
8. The LS has tons of mentors! I'm sure you'll be able to find someone, and we can all help you figure out the Monk lore, both OF and OOC. Then this might be fun after all! Please invite "Still Mountain" to the LS.
9. I'm not sure if it's the right place to ask, but I'm looking to make a return to the game, changing Still's Paladin Job to Monk's. However, I wanted to make an IC journey as well. Is the Linkshell open for "Mentors"? Because I'm looking for one. I'd love to learn more about Monk both ICly and as a player. I know nothing about it, Lore, gameplay, nothing and I'd love it to be an experience shared with a larger community.
10. I like to pretend Minfilia is just the beginning. On the next expansion, she will show up as a Roegadyn named "Maxfilia". Then the true FF14 will begin.
11. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000692.html So who are going to date when this goes live? I know who my Roegadyn is trying his luck with... http://img.finalfantasyxiv.com/lds/blog_image/eu_blog/assets_c/2014/03/sultana-493.html
12. If he ever want to go for a walk and talk about Gladiator woes, Still Mountain is the resident Ul'dah jobber.
13. I was just waiting for a date confirmation. 9th April is great for me, might be the (not so) big return of the Still Mountain.
14. Decided to try Gilgamesh just so I could be part of this! I'll be there.
15. I'll be returning to Balmung this friday, if you end up there I'm always looking for new connections for rp.
16. When the game was still "new" I was running with a FC that let players do their own planned plots and scenes, just letting the colorful characters clash against a imposed adversity that one member would brought up in a planned series, similar to how a tabletop game would run. I'm with you there, I don't particular like or enjoy tavern rp as much as I did back when I first started with MMOs because without a "glue", a "set piece" an "objective", all there is left are the colorful characters. Don't get me wrong, you can go far with just two, but said adversity is what makes their dynamic evolve and become something really interesting. Now if there is any advice I can give to you is: Try to set up events with the larger Balmung/Gilgaesh societies. It might not be a full blow plot but maybe you can turn into one? Just having a "goal" a "reason for these characters to talk" makes things better in my humble opinion.
17. U'ldah is my favorite city (Dat Sultana) but this is one of those MMOs where the cities are so awesome you just wish there was rpg 24/7 all around.
18. Works for me! I guess I can finally play Still Mountain how I wanted after all.
19. Please someone answer this: Can I use full subligar for this system when wearing end game dungeons gear? A resub is in the balance here.
20. The paint and smugness fit her hardy personality so well haha.
21. Just set up the date, poke around the Roegadyn LS and I'm sure me and other Roegadyn Roleplayers will show up.
22. Considering there's like 17 actual IC Roegadyn females and how they are the sweet new model we got from ARR, I'd say with much gusto "Bring the sceenshots!". I'd say the same to male Migo'te but it's not like they are everywhere on every single screenshot thread ever so I'm not short on some cat love.
23. Still Mountain sometimes comes out as a "bear" type, but that's just me trying to channel a less intense Hulk Hogan ahem. Regarding Roegadyn females: I love their model as a independent thing. Their face is just perfect, I love it to death. And their body structure is interesting to me. However, as the pair to the Male Roegadyn, I kinda wonder if they are a match. The male Model is exagerated, while the female one is idealized. Their face is the perfect blend of tough, beautiful, elegant and even a tingle of goofy that makes the male Roe so cool to me. But I agree with the posters saying there is a big difference for the two.
24. Silver Mountain & Still Mountain relaxing at some springs after an intense afternoon of hunting Coeurls.
