  1. Dressed in awkwardly tailored clothing, carrying a barely laden sack over her shoulder, unkempt sand-colored hair, height somewhere just under five feet, and much too skinny to look healthy, Fe’lanah looked quite like a young street urchin that had grown up on Pearl Lane. This was not actually the case, for she had simply been passing through in an attempt to avoid the street merchants when her curiosity was sparked by the sight of the makeshift tent. Having nothing else to do, she found herself a spot in whatever little shade could be located nearby and continued to watch with interest from a significant distance away. Having watched mostly everything from a distance away, she was very intrigued by the appearance of the Elezen upon the scene, but she had been too far out of earshot to actually hear anything that had been said. Her latent curiosity eventually overtook her and she approached closer to the tent and conspicuously stood where she could hear everything being said just a little after Esther had begun to talk to Liara. She took the sack from her shoulder and began to rummage around inside it, taking a time to noticeably scan everyone on the scene. She kept a glance on Esther for a much longer time than the rest, but she eventually went to actually trying to look inside of her bag. Her ear perked slightly at hearing one of the Elezen remark about dealing with the heat, but she said nothing and eventually drew a crudely crafted water-skin from her makeshift rucksack as she glanced in their direction for a moment. She was trying to be somewhat stealthy about it by not moving her head too much, but she ended up just staring out of the corners of her eyes as she pretended to look around in the bag some more. Her curiosity was definitely winning over this time.
  2. Mateus seems to have a pretty close community in it, though I don't know much about Jenova. Siren has one in here somewhere, it's not exactly as active as it once was, but I'm sure it's here somewhere. Judging by the comments on the supposedly inactive Siren RP LS, some people have considered coming here, so even if there is few active roleplayers left, it may not be terribly difficult to revive it perhaps. Regardless, the overall community around here is quite nice!
  3. Another Update: I've got a temporary fix I'll have running by late tonight, so I should be able to be on! If I'm not on Fe'lanah, I'll may be on my other character, Ruth Lismore, so send me a message and we can talk actively! I should have a permanent solution in a few days, but until then, I hope to see somebody around on Siren!
  4. Don't worry about the grammar and stuff too much, very few RPers started out with ultra precise English. Some people might be sticklers about it, but it should develop over time. I'm an aspiring writer and a RPer for six years now, mine is still flawed.
  5. Alas, we seem to be separated by server differences; exploring the world and just talking to people is nearly Fe'lanah's whole daily routine. We would likely end up as good friends at the least. Well, I still wish you good luck in your search for romance!
  6. Welcome to the RPC! I'm sure you'll have a good time with the people on Balmung, they seem like a fun group! If you ever end up on Siren sometime, I'll be around!
  7. Update: Fie, my launcher is broken now. First, it's a CPU, next it's internet, and now it's the launcher. Well, at least this is probably the last thing to break, hopefully? I'm still on the lookout if anyone is wondering!
  8. -More snips!- Hehe, maybe so. I don't hold myself down to any specific linkshells or anything because RP'ing spontaneously is so much more fun/immersive than the expectation of groups. So I'm in all hopes Siren develops more as an RP community so this can happen more often :3. I think I've seen you around too! I was looking more as to avoid creating a "hold-down" sort of LS and rather one where people could ask about meeting up for RP in-game, ask for opinion, throw out their location of where they are RPing, stuff like that! Also, was it outside Horizon?
  9. Cotton: Lost memory in desert, decides to become hippie. Logic. Yep, that's as horribly lacking in detail and relatively boring way you could state hers. It isn't even a complete sentence.
  10. Hey, it's another Siren! In fact, I think I've seen you around before while I was still leveling this character. Where are my manners? Welcome to the RPC! I'm currently indisposed from being in-game, but I've been looking for some RP partners so maybe we can meet up sometime? Edit: ...I managed not to see the post above mine before I posted. Sorry about that! But, er, that's me. Well, I wrote a good amount on there about me if you're interested, and I'll be doing a good bit more as time goes on.
  11. @foxfirestorm Trust me, we definitely still have some open space here.
  12. Er, how did this double post like this and why did it take me so long to realize? :dazed:
  13. @Thunderbolt300 I had a feeling it was, but I was giving it a chance and seeing if it had perhaps been some other reason. It seems that every once in a while, someone had come by and asked if it was still active as well, so maybe there is still enough of a RP population at least looking to start on Siren. Before I even came back to the game, I was scanning these and other forums to get a handle on what my choice of a server should be and I mean, it's pretty easy to tell by that Balmung's roleplay population is quite large. In fact, it sounds significantly like my original home, but being here on Siren has been quite nice and I've made a friend here that that I've become quite close to; I can't imagine leaving yet even aside from my monetary issues. Nevertheless, I'll be hanging around the RPC and doing some writing prompts, maybe see if I can start up a new LS for Siren. Who knows, it might grow some, or it might not. Even if I end up on Balmung, I'll work to keep it active- it may help to let someone else start it up then.
  14. OP is on Siren server ^^; Redacted. Thanks dude. Too early in the morning for me. Funny, this kind of thing tends to happen to me late in the afternoon. I've been considering making a general LS to help out with the search here. I have yet to receive a response from the one that is listed on the LS Hall.
  15. Hey again, RPC! My internet is being finicky right now, and for other technical reasons, it doesn’t seem like I’ll be able to get on for a while. Anyways, I figured I might see if I can get some connections together on Siren while I try to get this fixed! I’ll try to be more brief with this than I usually am- brevity is not a strong point of mine. A few things about me and RP: - I can adjust to either paragraph styled RP or shorter sentences. I have a habit of using emotes quite often, so expect a few to show up from time to time. - My week tends to be held down with work, so my weekday times aren’t as long as I would like them to be and I can’t afford to be on all the time. I’m on Eastern Standard Time, (GMT-5, I think) and I tend to be on in the later afternoons. - I’m not exactly a lore whiz in this game, but I make an effort to stay within it. - I tend to sway from medium to heavy RP, depending on the situation. I'm perfectly fine with romance, but don't expect it to be exactly a simple or fast thing with my characters. …I’m still not doing a great job at this whole being brief thing. So, who exactly are my characters? Well, I only have one for RP as of the moment and she's a bit of a handful to explain. I won't be able to be on for a while in-game still, but leave a message if you're at all interested or of you think there is something I might need to change!
  16. When I was originally planning out Fe'lanah, I didn't initially imagine doing a Miqo'te, but I decided to do it as a psychological experiment. I've noticed before that being the "master race" tended to provoke more RP from where I originally came from, so I figured that perhaps the same might happen here. If my launcher had been functioning all this week, I might have had something to share. Keep yourself as Elezen, it creates unique factor. Just work a little closer with linkshells and FC's, you should be able to find RP. I wish you luck!
  17. Welcome to the RPC! I can't help you much, being that I'm on Siren, but I wish you luck in your search regardless!
  18. The more important question...would they use butter or cheese? But, as everyone else said above, it seems believable that it may exist at some point.. It's just exploded corn kernels, really.
  19. Hey, finally someone who likes Crystal Chronicles as well! I wasn't sure if anyone else ever liked the game as much as I did! Good ol' Horned Helm Lilities- second most fashionable next to Steel Visor. I think this is all really a matter of seeing how many holes you can find to fit the Crystal Chronicles world into your character; basically nothing has been retained from that awesome side-series of games aside from having a short and somewhat rotund character race. In terms of recreation, Lilities and Clavat are the only two easy ones; Selkie and Yuke would be too hard to get to work easily. Shallot sounds somewhat Lilitian to me, but considering that he is a mix of Lalafell and Lility in an entirely different culture far away from the original, it should not matter all too much either way. But, er, back to the original point. I know a good chunk of CC lore, the matter is figuring out where this is going. I love the idea, (I've considered a Clavat referencing character before), but I'm going to be looking at specific ways you can get this in the game and not go as far as to begin creating canon ideas. Some people won't have an issue crossing lore, but a lot of people tend to follow lore quite heavily and it would be a good idea to find a way to explain your past within lore. Assuming that you're going with merging the CC world into Eorzea, one issue is to consider the nature of the crystals. In CC, the crystals are either made by or maintained by Myrrh, which is essentially liquefied memories. I'm not exactly sure what Aether is or how it works, but Aetheryte seems to make a similar ghostly voice/sound sometimes, (either that, or I'm imagining it). Being as it is and assuming perhaps Myrrh and Aether are interchangeable, the chalice shouldn't serve as much more than a weak beacon. Aether-poisoning can happen as well- an event that shows up in CC:EoT (Not to mention that Sherlotte could easily be mistaken for a Miqo'te). For this manner, I would not think the chalice would be terribly alarming to anyone, especially seeing as you would likely seem to have archaeological intentions in uncovering the truth of Onion Knights. I wouldn't know much on how to explain the change of the Carbuncles between the games, but I don't think it would be unfeasible to believe a Carbuncle may have followed your grandfather after the cleansing of Miasma- defeating something as strong as the Royal Spirits (at least, I guess that's what you could call them) is no small feat. People could easily assume you're a simply crazed or obsessive Lalafell who has gotten too deep into speculation in the midst of researching or performing archaeology, or perhaps you appear to be just lost in your own world. I don't think your physical aspects would be anything to cause alarm for anyone (I always figured that the growth on the head was just odd hair growth patterns and not actually plantlike). I don't think the green eyes will be a terribly odd offset either; I've not been perceptive enough to find a green-eyed Lalafell NPC in game, but even if it's not naturally possible for them, you can always explain it as a glamour enchantment. Sadly, you can't get the nice sideburns or the full beard, but large facial hair doesn't seem to be prevalent in Lalafellin. On the terms of profession, Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, and Lancing all exist in-game, so none of that should be a problem. Being that you are the third generation of your family in Eorzea, your accent will likely have adjusted to be quite similar to everyone else's. I'd assume you would know the natural Eorzean language at this point- the old one, assuming it's any different, might even have been forgotten among your family now. Whew...that was much more long-winded than I had intended. Keep these things in mind as you think out your character, I just think it would be beneficial if you maintained a way to keep the character within FFXIV's lore- a lot of people tend to be quick on judging about it. Regardless, I like the idea and I'm happy to find another person who seems to like the Crystal Chronicles sub-series. I hope this was helpful for your idea in some sort of way! (At least it was easier than trying to think of a way to explain why the king of Rebena Te Ra was a Selkie, and why Alfitaria's princess is half-Clavat and half-Lilty.)
  20. @Wandering Seeker Welcome to the RPC! I just joined in a day or two ago, having only been back to the game for a few weeks as well. It doesn't look like I'll ever get around to being on Balmung, but if for whatever reason you are around on Siren we might see each other! I wanted to RP in Wildstar, but I only managed to get to it after the population bleed-out hit hard. Needless to say, I didn't hang around too long. I've played a bit of GW2, but I always got pulled away from it for some reason; Norns seriously deserved more play on there, but I saw so few in my time. I came from WoW as well, leaving mostly because the game felt like an empty husk compared to the glory days of WotLK and all of my friends simply vanished over time. That seems to be my RP curse. The RP never really felt the same afterwards; it began to feel drained and less and less fun that it had been. Also, I see your Ork street samurai and raise it with an ex-corporation ork-wannabe pacifist who rides around on a moped and lives in a tiny apartment.
  21. I'm interested in the idea, but I'm on Siren and as the future looks, I'm here to stay. Where I last came from, para was the norm and I'm quite used to it aside from being a tad slow. Regardless, I wish you luck in your search!
  22. I'm curious as well to know if this is still active, finding a nice place to group up for RP would be nice as I have yet to find any directly. In-game name is Cotton Fe'lanah if you're still up!
  23. Hey RPC community! I've been hanging around on these forums for a while now, and I figured it was about time I registered. I have been around for probably two weeks now, (possibly more because I lost count), playing exclusively on the Siren server. Things are definitely a refreshing change here compared to where I came from; plus, a lack of excess money means that I’ll probably never swap to Balmung. I’ll be looking into seeing if I can maybe get together with all of you other Sirens out there! Just a description of my character in general: (Cotton isn’t my main character, but she’s my only RP dedicated one out of the two.) Fe’lanah has, as of writing this, been in Eorzea for two days now, having awoken somewhere in Thanalan’s wilds without any of her memories and a lot of her general knowledge gone. Her name is self-given, made entirely upon assumptions from the few Mi’qote she has met, while “Cotton” is just a nickname she made for herself. At this point, she still doesn’t understand all that much of what she does know, let alone something that is new to her. She firmly believes in relying upon only herself and refuses to buy anything or take handouts, something that makes her quite a distressing matter to Ul’dah’s merchants and prompts her to stay away from that city specifically. She also thinks that she is a Seeker, though in reality she’s just a Keeper with oddly bright skin and dyed hair who now spends too much time in the sun. She tries to maintain a carefree and jovial attitude at all times, but it becomes difficult for her when her amnesia is brought up too often or when she stays out in the sun for too long. If you see me around, don't hesitate to talk to me; I'm almost always IC!
