1. Glad to hear you like it! Our biggest hope is that the popularity of this grows and spreads via word of mouth. Just like you mentioned, people who get readings done could feel inclined to tell friends about it and such. We will see what happens!
2. Welcome OOC Introduction/Information: This is a story written and developed by Remnance(Character: Clouse Sydonis) and Felix Sideris(Character: Felix Sideris). The idea we have was to provide a background history for Fortune Telling in Eorzea since there is little to no lore about it, and the telling or reading of fortunes would be done through a special kind of leveplates, similar to Tarot Cards. This thread is to serve as a foundation for introducing the role play to the community. We've spent a good amount of time working, revising and re-writing our stories and ideas so they complied with lore and were as believable as possible. Remnance and I both hope that you, the community, enjoy the ideas we have to share. We accept with open arms anyone desiring to join in on this kind of role play, or anyone desiring to be taught about it either ICly or OOCly. All you have to do is contact either Remnance or myself via Private Message on these forums, or mail/tell our characters online. We would be glad to help or answer any questions. A note to those desiring to join: Remnance and I politely ask anyone desiring to join this role play to ask permission first, and after asking us we can provide the greater details needed to do this kind of role play. We are keeping a fair amount of it to ourselves for sake of preservation of our original idea. Thank you. The Fate Seekers Here I will provide a complete list of players who are involved with this role play. Only players on this list have been taught or joined through either Remnance(Clouse Sydonis) or Felix Sideris. You can use this list if you desire to contact one of the Fate Seekers to organize a role play or ask for a reading for your character. Note: Once this list reaches 10+ Players, it is acceptable that your character has heard about "Fate Seekers" or these fortune tellers with this specific style, maybe even their specific names. Until then, we can assume that their reputations are small or that things have not passed enough via word-of-mouth. Remnance and I will not be actively advertising our Fortune Telling role plays and will only offer it based upon situational cases. List of Fate Seekers(Character names only): Felix Sideris Clouse Sydonis The Background / History Fortune telling has been around for many an era, and has been a tradition passed down by some followers of Nymeia. There was a form of fortune telling, however that was far deeper and different from the common methods. The original followers who practiced this deeper method were devote fanatics of the spinner of fate. They claimed that through strict worship and divine right they would be blessed and able to see into the future. Whether or not this came to pass has been lost in time, however, but the less fanatical adherents of this group pursued the same desire. Fueled by this desire to read the fate of others, and began to call themselves Fate Seekers. They created a deck of plates, called Faeleves, out of stained Atheryte crystals similar to guildleves. These nourished plates served as a medium for the Fate Seekers to see into the Aether where they believe Nymeia weaved the fate of all living things. The Fate Seekers believed that Nymeia played a less hands on role in the pursuit of this knowledge than the original fanatics. In fact, they rarely worshiped the Goddess, but rather thought that she would allow them to become fate readers simply because they desired to. The requirement to see into the Aether and read the weaving was believed to be not so much a blessing from the Goddess, but a state of being. That through meditation and wholesome living they could bring themselves in harmony with the Aether enough to read what the Faeleves were telling them. The Fate Seekers were condemned as heretics by a college of magi for trying to pursue divine knowledge and general society came to dislike the small group shortly afterwards. Eventually they each went their own ways and the practice was passed down as a mere tradition, usually from parent to child, and thus broke the chain of remaining a practice of the servants of Nymeia only. This art largely died out during the Sixth Umbral Era, as few had any time to practice the arts or go receive readings during times of war and hardship. With the war against the Garlean Empire and the Calamity that soon followed, the amount of people remaining with knowledge of this plummeted to almost nothing, and the practice was nearly lost. As of the Seventh Era, the practice has slowly begun to revive itself. Showing up in odd places around Eorzea, fueled by the desire and longing that some survivors of the Calamity have to know their place in the world. Fueled by fate and its desire to be known. Summary / Closing Summary: Name of Practitioners: Fate Seekers Medium of Fortune Reading: Faeleves Elements Involved: - Fire - Earth - Water - Air Deities Involved: - Nymeia, The Spinner Closing: Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and we look forward to see the community's response. We are hoping that this is something that people would look forward to involving with there characters and stories. Thank you to the many people who have helped us refine this idea into what it is now, and all of those who helped with the lore filtering to make it meld well into Final Fantasy XIV's story. It is greatly appreciated. We wish to preserve this role play as it currently is. As stated prior, we have withheld the core details needed to actually perform the readings the way we will be doing to avoid any corruption or possible impostors. Lastly, I ask that this forum thread be kept clean. While I strongly encourage discussion about this role play, I ask that it be kept on topic and constructive. Feel free to post questions or thoughts about the role play in replies on this thread. We may provide answers to some questions via Private Message if the question is believed to be too revealing to the role play. Again, Thank you all and we really look forward to seeing the community's take on this. See you all in Eorzea!
3. You had me at Morrowind. Loooooveeeeee the elder scrolls.
4. Got disconnected by a 90k. Loged into the character screen easily. Got into a short que of 32 people. Got a load screen. Error 10102. Connection to server was lost. So, these new servers apparently don't run without problems as we had hoped.
5. Honestly, I am sad to see how many people from the RPC that are contributing to it. I logged in and in my linkshell.. Half of them were still online at 6:00 in the morning my time. Only 2-3 were actually talking. I wouldn't go as far as to call them out, but I think it is kind've rude for the other players. Currently I can't get on because it is the second time after being kicked out today. It's 2:30 almost east-coast and that means it is around noon pacific. Basically, I don't see myself getting online any time soon, if at all, today. Considering it is saturday, I don't see myself getting on at all. Personally I think Square should have immediately hot fixed a 30 minute cap on inactivity, after which you are booted. They EASILY could have hot fixed that in and it would have SIGNIFICANTLY helped with the congestion. I work 50 hour weeks and after that it is an understatement to say that I look forward to relaxing on the game that has my interest. Atm I don't really like anything but ARR, so this is pretty brutal. I might be a bit unreasonable, but I think Square had adequate time to address the issue based off of the amount of people registering for Phase 4/early access. They kind've had for-warning with how many people were flocking to this game.
6. was playing earlier today before i was shot down by a 90k errir..then couldnt find the na server list. after that 2002 stopped me from trying anything else. finally got past it and guess what? 1017. its saturday, so everyone is going to be reying to get on so i guess i wont be on much today. so fed up with this, and i am patient and have high tolerance. but from a business perspective they should have known better from phase 4/early acess
7. im a die hard..i sit there and spam it until i get in while singing "i will break these cuffs" to the safe and sound tune by captial..something. forgot the band name.
8. I'm locked out cuz of 1017 as well. I hope it doesn't last forever T.T I really look forward to this game after going through 10 hours of work. Please let me on square. Please..
9. SO. After a 10 hour workday, I look forward to getting on and finally playing again. I don't play on sundays because it is a family day for me and I'm fairly religious, but yeah. SO. I come home. "Error 1017" ...My reaction? "-Twitch- That is weird. It usually gives a que when the world is full..Lets try again. " "-Load screen shows up, only to stop after a second- Error 1017" My reaction this time? "I -will- keep trying this until it works square. Mark my words." "-Computer crashes-" "-initiate nerd rage-" I feel like I am trying to cross a desert of Legos, barefooted, in search for an oasis that is Eorzea. Except the Oasis can move, and Square keeps adding more legos in between me and salvation.
10. haha, just teasing her over a previous encounter from phase three, but in the interest of my better health I won't say anymore TwT Shouldn't you be in bed by now? O_O Probably.. I'll go to bed soon. I just fed my dogs so I gotta stay up for another hour or so to take them out one more time before sleepzorz.

My day tomorrow: Work 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. Side Job: 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Take dogs out/feed them, take shower and eat something 6:00 P.M.-7:30ish P.M. Cryo sleep to pass the rest of the time: 7:30ish P.M. - 4:00 P.M. What do I do from 4-5 as I wait for the servers to come up? The same thing that 95% of the RPC will be doing. Hoping that somehow you will get on early or be one of the first ones on. WE CAN MAKE IT. HHHNNGGGHH. :frustrated:

20. Original poster said no FF theme songs/soundtrack songs.
21. I chose two because I couldn't pin it down to one. So, one with lyrics, one without. Felix is a very happy(outwardly, anyway), outgoing and friendly person. He Loves people and lives to make friends. His uncle gave his life to save him, and then he was split from his family during the calamity. Hardship, chaos and sorrow is no new thing to many of the stories behind characters in Eorzea, but this song here represents how Felix might currently feel. Despite his outwardly loving, cheery and friendly personality, underneath he is depressed and most of his negative emotions are directed inwardly towards himself. This song basically explains how everything happening around Felix is falling apart. It explains how Felix wants to be saved and that he is reaching out and trying to save himself, and find friends to help save him. But despite that, 'the audience is gone', which would be his lack of any true friends or family. He is alone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8E6Vp0W47I This song I chose because it really represents Felix's pursuit for peace and harmony in his sphere. This song has a sad-ish, meditative tone that portrays Felix and his desire for peace and happiness. Side note: I didn't include Felix's favorite song that he plays on his pan-pipe here, despite it having a decent roll in his story. Hope you guys like them!
22. So, we know that early access starts the 24th, but what is the exact, specific time of when it starts? I live on the east coast in the US. It is 10:06 P.M. as I post this, in case anyone tries to convert time. EST time zone. But yeah.. I am assuming Friday the 23rd right at midnight when it turns over to Saturday?
23. On my fourth try with the error 3 jazz. Still wont accept it. Oh, make that #4. Hmm.. Are you sure you eventually will get in, and not that you are just lucky? Edit: Whelp. I'm going to just wait till tomorrow. I have proof of my pre-purchase in case I need to prove it to square to redeem my stuffs.
24. You can't even blame yourself. Reckoning is amazing.
