Hey everyone. I'm kinda new to the game, but I have really been enjoying the world and the stories. I've done some light RP with my FC, and have had a great time. I have heard that FF14 has an ERP scene, and I am curious. I was hoping that i could get some help with a few questions. Am I even in the right place? I've been trying to search for Subreddits and Discords where I could ask some questions, but so far haven't found anything. Is there anywhere that would be more appropriate for what I am asking? And if so, where? Is it something people do on their main characters or is it better to have an alt for that? Hope I am not offending anyone, by posting here. Best regards Bredtoft

Hello there! I was very interested in getting involved with the RP scene in FFXIV, so I started to do some research and was both excited and conflicted at the same time. I have some past RP experience on text forums, never done it in a game before. My problem is that it seems most of the RP I keep seeing is geared more towards ERP, which I have no problem with other people doing, but I don't really want to get involved with it myself. My main character is also based on Primal, but I don't want to necessarily do RP on my main character for a few reasons. I wanted to create a second character for RP purposes only. The top reasons I don't want to RP on my main: She's not the character I had in mind for who I want to RP, and I am too attached to use a name change/fantasia to make her into who I want my RP character to be Data center change to Crystal is out of the question, I am very attached to the FC I am in and would not leave them for the world, I might make another character on a Crystal server, but I wouldn't move my main to Crystal and leave my FC behind The questions I had for you guys! 1) Are there any groups in Primal dedicated to RP? 2) How likely is it for people to reject a roleplay with you if you don't want to ERP with them? Is there a way to politely tell them up front you aren't interested in that so you don't get "stood up" in the middle of an RP? Not sure of the proper etiquette so I wanted to make sure first! Hello! I am a writer-roleplayer however I am completely new to the world of FFXIV and it's roleplay. To the point that one of my questions is actually how to even roleplay on the game. I'm extremely excited to get into it, and I've been playing for the past couple of days to get a feel for the game itself, so I'm here to see if I could get a quick run down of how the roleplay community works there! I'm on Balmung and my character's named Juni Tella, if anyone's curious to say hello! :) Some other questions: (and pardon me if they're extremely naive.) - Do people rp/talk through the chat down in the corner? - do you have to consistently use emotes and acting during rp? - I've been told simply to put in my account 'Walk up tell' and that 'people will understand' but I don't particularly understand... - am I supposed to put a quick 60 character backstory on that profile bio? - do you send messages or tells? what exactly is the difference? Thank you so much for your time for helping answer some of these questions and introducing me to the rp world!

Sigward Locke Half-Roe Engineer and Swordsman Locke's past is kept his secret, but many meet him and learn quickly he's happy with who he is despite that. The man is loud, boisterous, loving, smart-assed, and at times has a very foreward tongue that can get him into a grand deal of trouble. The man currently holds no Free Company's badge, and thus works as an Engineer for hire, often offering his knowledge or his services before heading back to wait for more work. He is often seen with two swords by his hip, one tied off by a red string, the other the one he more actively uses. Closer inspection would show that he is far from a normal Hyur despite appearances, actually the offspring of Roegadyn and Hyur reproduction. Despite the sword on his hip, he does not have true samurai training. He wields the blade, but his fighting style is almost entirely his own, and shows as such with how much it lacks the discipline and time spent compared to true sword arts. On his other hip, he keeps a small firearm: A rifle that had been made as just the grip to a swan off barrel, with the rest in between. On the inside however he has a deal of self doubt. No matter how confident he appears, he is battling his internal demons and trying to tell himself he's worth a damn. Its because of this that he does take time to actually find himself close to anyone, though approaching him is an easy task. He has shied away from a lot of company offers due to this, and is easilly found drinking himself to a good nights rest to escape this mentality. But, most times, you will see him smile, laugh, and probably slap him when he prods your rear as a joke. Note: Butt prodding done only with OOC permission, this is a family friendly profile!
