Wonderful point. I'm actually an officer in NB. I hadn't known nonreps couldn't attend, but I can see why. It would be crowded that way, and big assemblies are hard to work with a lot anyway. Ah well. Still looking forward to the chance to see a big pile of folks in-game.

Yeah unfortunately its not an exclution thing, more of a size control as a house can only like 200 people. The event will be live streamed, as stated before many times.

 

The reason for putting it into a house was a decision made on the grounds of threats of trolling i was made aware of. So is the nature of an rp server.

If you have nothing positive or constructive to contribute then please do not bother posting at all. Attempting to call other people out over petty and irrelevant details will not get anyone anywhere.

 

Aside from that, please mind your tone. It doesn't matter how well you know one person or another, or how accustomed you are to being 'harsher' in certain company. If people frequently come off too strongly in a way that others might perceive it as off-putting or toxic then your choice of wording will start biting back in the form of warnings and eventually bans.

 

 

Enough topics have been unnecessarily cut short as of late and there's no good that can come from helping to create an unfriendly atmosphere in the forums. Please have a long think about what you want to say and how it might come off to anyone who reads it - be they the target of your post or not.

 

You are not the only person who loses out from being sanctioned. Everyone please think about what you are doing.

That makes me wonder would it help people feel more at ease if we have a time set aside for people outside the event to field questions? Like...

 

"Hey, I'm looking for a FC with XYZ, do any of you do that?"

 

"Hey I noticed some of you liked XYZ. Well I have a ic business in a personal house that does XYZ. Just throwing that out there."

I'd definitely be open to try and help with getting some questions across and the likes, if people were interested in it. I'd say set some time aside for it, and then we'll see if there's any interest for it on the day. I'm going to do a test soon and see what options I have for moderating chat as well (should it be needed, I doubt it will).

Maybe it should just be called "The Meeting of Interested FCs Who Want to Learn to Mingle and Do Other Things Really Good Too"?

 

I think, from reading the thread, the word "Summit" is what turned some people off. Summits, in mainstream culture, usually bring to mind the G8 Summit, peace talks, and the ilk. 

 

That said, I think the spirit and intent are noble, and if I were able to, I'd represent my fc in a heartbeat, alas, I have not been with them long enough to feel comfortable asking the FC leaders to attend, though I will make sure they know of it...and my alt is being auctioned off that evening, lol.
