Character Wiki Rumors

I.....write my own rumors for my own wiki pages. >.>

 

I think it lends credit to the sheer ego of the Captain in an IC context and offers a nice reflection of the absurdity OOC. I may have read too much Douglas Adams as a child, however.

I've been adding a lot of rumors lately and its getting to be disappointing when someone doesn't have a wiki page! Also have been getting more... Maybe theres a connection there?

 

I think one thing that entices people to leave rumors on your wiki is having it updated. Not daily of course but at least somewhat up to date. If someone sees that you find them interesting or special enough to add them to your wiki, they also may be a bit more inclined to leave a rumor there.

 

Lastly I'd like to yell at the people who don't have wiki's. I know not everyone can do it/has time to make one... but but... Grumble grumble!

Its super easy! Someone around here wrote up a really easy tutorial but I can't remember who it was.

I've been slowly re-hauling my wiki, as well. Adding in family relationships which are part of the big story going on right now, etc, and if I can scrounge the motivation I'll finally fill in some of the history lol

Your user page is not the same as a character page. Make a new one for the character and copy/paste the content.

You can also move the page into the main namespace. Click the down arrow next to the search box, then click Move. Change the first field from "User" to "(Main)" and rename the page to your character's name, then click "Move page". Then you're done!

I agree!  I love the rumours on wiki pages and as soon as I made my page I tried to hit up as many people as I could think of to add rumours to theirs.

 

I welcome anyone who knows me IC to add a few to mine.

Pssssssssst! Rumors are still one of my favorite ways to build RP community, and to "spice up" wiki pages with interesting and fun tidbits. Just wanted to encourage everyone again to open rumor sections on your wikis (and if you don't have a wiki, you should start one! Simple and short is just fine!!) and to leave rumors on the pages of those you meet! Every little tidbit makes the world a little more immersive, and makes the character a little easier to know and imagine!

She's not kidding about that first part. I am planning to recategorize an entire section of my wiki as "Aya Rumours."
