The Sacramentum - Bi-Weekly IC Primal Hunting - Wednesdays 10 pm EST/7 pm PST

Recommended Posts

A sheet of parchment is posted up on the wall of the Forgotten Knight, in Ishgard. In black ink, and written in elegant script, the parchment reads...

The Sacramentum

The Saint of Dravania has answered the call of her faithful once again. Her wintery dance threatens not only Coerthas, but all of Eorzea. Should she be allowed to live, all of Eorzea could succumb to endless winter. This cannot come to pass.

To those who are strong in arms or magic, and are brave enough to stand against her grace, answer this calling, swear the oath, and share in the glory known only to heroes of Eorzea.

Eight are called. Four have answered. Four remain.

Speak with Gibrillont if you have the courage to fight.

OOC

What:

The Sacramentum is a bi-weekly In Character Primal Hunt! Each week a Primal is chosen as being recently revived by their beast tribe. Eight heroes come together to defeat the Primal, and scatter its essence back to the aether.

The goal is to allow those of us with adventuring-oriented characters to practice roleplaying as an adventurer, and enjoy fighting the Primals in character alongside other adventurers. These characters should be allowed to boast of their victories to the other characters they meet. This isn't the Main Story Quest, where Everyone does it and thus, No One does it. This is an In Character event, and the glory belongs only to those eight who show up to fight!

But this is no cake walk. We're not fighting the normal or hard mode versions of these terrifying monsters. We only challenge them at the most Extreme limits of their power.

Who:

A party consisting of exactly two tanks, two healers, and four damage dealers, with at most two duplicate jobs allowed. That means if two Dragoons sign up, no other Dragoons will be allowed to sign up!

Where:

The meet-up location varies depending on the Primal chosen for the week, and will be revealed to the participants upon signing up for the event.

When:

Meet-up on Wednesday, 10:00 pm EST/7:00 pm PST. We ride out at approximately 10:30/7:30.

How:

The party meets at the appointed hour at the appointed location, and takes a few minutes to introduce themselves and discuss the Primal they're about to face. Before riding out, the adventurers must swear an oath to each other, the Sacramentum, to kill the Primal at all costs, or die in the attempt.

Once the oath is sworn, the party rides out to the aether crystal of the Primal, and upon arriving, uses the crystal to teleport to the Primal's home grounds. The party engages the Primal until they have defeated it.

Upon its defeat, the party teleports back to the aether crystal, and fights their way back to the meet-up location. Once the party arrives safely, the Sacramentum is satisfied, and the party may disband if they choose. However, the party is encouraged to meet up at the tavern of the nearest city-state to celebrate their victory.

Also remember, the party members must be protected against being Tempered by the Primal! Not all of us have The Echo, after all. For those without The Echo, you must come wearing full armor or cloth that covers the skin completely, and your outfit must be completely and specially aether-sealed to prevent the Primal from Tempering you.

Sign Ups:

The In Character sign up location changes on a weekly basis, so pay attention to the description above to see if your character would be in the city to see the sign up notice!

Sign ups are on a first come first serve basis, until all required roles are filled! You can either respond here, PM me on the forums, or message me in game. I'll need your character's full name and the job you are going as. Be specific, don't post "I can go as job x or job y", pick one and tell me what it is.

All participants are encouraged to join The Sacramentum linkshell after signing up for the event, and will be removed from the linkshell upon the event's successful completion. You can message me in game to join. The linkshell is completely OOC, and is used to help coordinate the event and answer questions anyone might have.

All participants must be of the required level for the Primal (At least 50 for A Realm Reborn Primals, and 60 for Heavensward Primals), must have the Primal unlocked, and must meet all other requirements to fight the Primal. Previous experience with the Primal fight is not required. However, all participants are heavily encouraged to do their homework before showing up for The Sacramentum.

All Realm Reborn Primals will be queued for using the Undersized Party setting.

Other Rules:

Be nice to your fellow party members OOCly. This is not about progression, this is not about loot, this is not about farming horses. This is about grand adventure and epic tales of bravery and heroism. All loot dropped is considered OOC, and is rolled for using the in-game Need/Greed. There will be no complaining or discussions about loot, period. If you care so much about item drops from the Primals, join a farm group. This is about roleplaying, first and foremost.

We are not farming Primals. We kill the Primal once, and that's it. The Primal might not revive for another Sacramentum for a few weeks or months.

Sounds fun! My paladin, Saga Bearclaw has the echo so she could go without worrying about tempering. Sign me up if the spot isn't already gone!

ADA GOES WHERE SAGA GOES

I SEE YOU

YOU CAN'T ESCAPE

(she's a Monk, please add her to damage)

Wait nevermind we have a monk already and I'm too slow.

Jana is a Summoner IC who is missing a few primal kills. I'd love to have her come; if you're going in unsynced then I can show up as a level 60 MNK. Also I will need to clear a LS spot tonight.

Wait, are you showing up as a Summoner or a Monk? We can take either, but I just want to be absolutely clear before I add your name.

I listed MNK because you said Undersized Party will be used in the first post, and it's my only level 60 class right now. If I misread, I'm happy to go as another class.

Undersized just means that people showing up at level 60 will have full access to their abilities, we'll take anyone that is level 50 or higher, even if we're going undersized. I'll sign you up as a Summoner if that's your preference.

There's still some slots left, and I sincerely doubt we can run this without some form of healing.

If by Saturday we don't see the slots fill, I'll relax the class restrictions. I think wanting no duplicate classes was a bit optimistic (And almost certainly will be in the long run).

Sign up, it'll be fun! Meet some adventurer's you've never met before, fight alongside them, and share stories of your victory afterwards!

Well, if you can't get anyone else and end up nixing the class restrictions, Vann and Ami can go.

Amelia Almandine - 60 WHM

Vallon Jennessy - 60 DRG

Let us know! If you don't get any takers before then, we'll jump in. If you find another DPS and healer to fill the spots that won't go against the class restrictions, then that's fine too. :)
