Shoshopu Posted February 3, 2016 Share #30 Posted February 3, 2016 I'm pretty sure mega-Swampert is definitively the best Rain team sweeper, and it's always been one of the better fully-evolved starters not named Blaziken. It's got my vote. Link to comment
Aaron Posted February 3, 2016 Author Share #31 Posted February 3, 2016 That's a weird way to say Torterra. Link to comment
mongi291 Posted February 3, 2016 Share #32 Posted February 3, 2016 That's a weird way to say Torterra. That's... no, you know what? I like Torterra. Not as much as Sceptile, but whatever. Heck, I think the only starters I really don't like are Infernape and Emboar (because, y'know, a Fire/Fighting starter was enough). Link to comment
Aaron Posted February 3, 2016 Author Share #33 Posted February 3, 2016 Yeah bout half the fire starters are lame. I don't even like Charizard. Link to comment
13uddy Posted February 3, 2016 Share #34 Posted February 3, 2016 Yeah bout half the fire starters are lame. I don't even like Charizard. I'm not too crazy about Charizard either, but I do like Charizard from a design point of view. I love dragons and dragon-like creatures, so visually it appeals to me. In the games, however, I rarely used one until I ended up getting a shiny Charmander in Pokemon X from Prof. Sycamore. I wasn't even trying for one, but when I got it I was like "Yep, keeping it!". The only fire starter I'm really fond of is Torchic's line, and I have absolutely no idea why. Link to comment
Aaron Posted February 3, 2016 Author Share #35 Posted February 3, 2016 I loved Torterra ever since I first saw it. Link to comment

Warren Castille Posted February 4, 2016 Share #37 Posted February 4, 2016 Blaziken looks stupid and I've convinced myself 99% of the love for it is because of how stupid broken it is. Emboar is the true fire/fighting champion. Link to comment
Miss Gaz Posted February 4, 2016 Share #38 Posted February 4, 2016 I never got big into fire types. Like....I like Arcanine and thats about it. I tend to play water or grass types. But mostly Psychic and Ghost types. Link to comment
Warren Castille Posted February 4, 2016 Share #39 Posted February 4, 2016 I've never cared much for the competitive scene since Gold/Silver, so I tend to just try and pick cool designs and/or pokes I like. I will always try to find a way to put a Shuckle on my team, even if they're awful in the general sense of the main game. Pokes I like > pokes I don't like with godlike stats. Link to comment
Aaron Posted February 4, 2016 Author Share #40 Posted February 4, 2016 Can we all agree that Rayquaza even before mega evolution is the best legendary? Kthx Link to comment

Legendaries are for scrubs and children. ...you know, I never realized how much I never cared for the legendaries. I distinctly recall tracking down and KOing the stupid lake guardian ones. I think it's my inner hipster. Something is built up to be super hyped and amazing? Yawn, pass. Gimme Gigashuckle any day. Link to comment

Aaron Posted February 6, 2016 Author Share #43 Posted February 6, 2016 So uhh, I tried the wonder trade function on my Pokemon. I got a lvl 100 shiny Charizard and a lvl 100 Jirachi. . . And I only traded a turtwig and a zangoose. . . Looks like Jirachi getting traded for a Giratina so I can have two. Link to comment

I was just getting rid of Pokemon I didn't want in wonder trade and then BAM. Back to back a lvl 100 shiny charizard and a Jirachi. I traded the Jirachi in GTS for a shiny Giratina. Link to comment
Momo Posted February 7, 2016 Share #46 Posted February 7, 2016 You can beat the whole game with just about any decent team, you don't really need good stats, I just go down the list of pokemon that I can get, that I really like and make a team that way. Most of the time though...I am stuck worrying I will get overly attached to a pokemon I caught early on, and be stuck with it no matter how mush I do or do not like that particular pokemon. I am also sexist (on the subject of pokemon), so I only catch male pokemon if I can, unless there is no other choice. (Never gonna give up on you Chansey!) I also catch one of every pokemon available in the game (I don't trade around unless I -must- have something in particular), which means one of each form too, so not only evolved forms. When I get particularly bored...I choose a job or theme for my trainer, and make a team of pokemon around what fits with that theme, say...ice cream shoppe worker, or...aquarium specialist...herder...that sort of thing then pick lots of pokemon to go with that theme. Gets me through, since I buy every version available of the game and play them all. Still waiting on that Crystal remake though...>.>;;; Link to comment
