Salsabeaver Posted July 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2017 Hey guys! So this is my first 'Making Connections' thread, I thought it was about time I did this and opened some doors! So Byrn is an Historical Archeologist, as such -- you'd be seeing him alot in ruins, especially around Belah'dian structures and supposed haunts of the Mhachi civilization. He's also a Thaumaturge researcher, making notes in his field. . Yeah, so? I feel he'd be a good fit for people who are also researchers! It'd be nice for him to bounce back ideas and theories with, after all: peer review is always nice! He's also open to take in students, feeling he needs some experience in that! In addition, he knows quite a bit about Black Magic -- but he wouldn't go up to some random Joe-shmo and talk about it. He would if he trusts you alot! As with his background, may hap his Ala Mhigan-ness will attract some people in that regard too: good or bad! Okay, but who is he? A great question! Byrn is the type of guy who's rather friendly and quite a bit eccentric. Actually. . . that's an understatement, he's freaking weird. [Although that maybe the players fault, for she too is weird.] Yet, he has a certain charm to him that makes him seem like a fun person to be around; always having something to say, mundane or clever otherwise. However, that's just the surface! He's quite the suspicious person, not really talking much about himself -- unless someone asks -- and has a hard time talking about his past history. Yet, he seems to carry around this noblility-like atmosphere. Get to the point! So what I'm looking for are some of the following; although, I'd be pretty ecstatic with anything because RP is fun! --Students interested in studying Historical Archeology or Thaumaturgy! -- Fellow researchers and scientists in his subjects! -- Other black magic practitioners, and any leads for a Gem of Shantoto. -- Mayhap some Ala Mhigan people, maybe he'll knows you! Maybe! -- OR maybe some enemies! Can always spice up rp with a little bit of animosity! All in all, this is just the beginning stuff -- anything can happen with future rp! [Course, there might be more; but I'm a dork and not realize it at first when posting this.] Interesting. . . what're your boundaries? Another good question! I'm fine with anything really, but the major thing is that we never ever mix OOC with IC -- but that's a given! As long as whatever is happening is spicing up the RP and making things very amusing or intriguing -- yet that wouldn't be a problem, since I'm a very easygoing person OOC. [[EDIT: WHOOPS, forgot to add a picture of the man!]] What do you look like? Like this! Tada! 1 Link to comment

That'd be lovely! I've saw your journal entrees after making this and I went -- "Oh gosh, this person is amazing." We should totally meet up one day, in fact Byrn is going to be looking for help in an upcoming story line! And you're far too kind, Kasi. 1 Link to comment

A'kos Posted July 24, 2017 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2017 Would love to meet and hang with both you guys A'kos isn't an academic researcher, more of a professional student. Although he undervalues what he does know, his main area of expertise being magitek, more the mechanic who's read some books on engineering than an engineer himself. Great love of archeology all the same, and of learning in general. Link to comment
Cocotsu Posted July 24, 2017 Share #7 Posted July 24, 2017 Cocotsu Cotsu is a student of all things aetherical. Would love to have them meet and throw ideas between each other =3:tonberry: Link to comment
Salsabeaver Posted July 27, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted July 27, 2017 @Akios Ooo! That's interesting! Byrn would definitely love talking to you, since he's trying to understand Magitek -- so it'd be a win-win situation. In fact, I'm going to be doing some plot stuff soon -- nothing too major. Just him finding a group and delving into some ruin for science. @Cocotsu That's even better! You'll get to hear Byrn go on his lectures -- but yeah! We should meet up sometime. Mwuahahaha, Byrn's scholastic empire is slowly rising. Link to comment

Mwuahahaha, Byrn's scholastic empire is slowly rising. It may grow in to a massive beast which cannot be contained and takes over the world! *evil crackle* In all seriousness, I know Rowena and her friends would easily be able to talk shop with Bryn. Rowena loves exploring Ruins and examining the creative structures. Her friend Emrys and boyfriend Laurent are all about the preservation of ruins as well as destruction of dangerous relics since people seem to think it is wise to sell them for profit. We are in the midst of starting up an FC to actually go with this theme (this isn't a 'come apply post') and I'm sure more people will turn up looking to talk about the history of Eorzea and the lost civilizations once part of it. Ellavione Bourdeaux Posted July 29, 2017 Share #11 Posted July 29, 2017 Howdy there Bryn! Reading your post made me smile. It sounds like you and your character have a tone of positive energy and are a blast to be around. That said, I think my character Aly might be a good student for you. She is a Galrean defect who pretty much knows nothing other then what the Empire taught her - which honestly wasn't much other then the Eorzean people needed to be "helped". Having a teacher she could learn the true history on, perhaps even going on a ruin exploration or five with, would be very beneficial to her character. I can also think off the top of my head two or three people in my FC that would be interested in meeting Bryn over a drink and discuss different studies, ruins, exploration, and close encounters. I especially would LOVE to introduce you to my fellow FC mate Threed. He is a researcher of sorts into the Aetherical and I think you two would get along famously! So please feel free to reach out to me (Alyria Winchester) in game or stop by the Rest on one of our Tavern nights. I'd love to get some RP going for my lady and introduce you to others who might help brighten your day. Cheers! :tonberry: Link to comment
