As for Kerr, he plans to name his (and any he breeds/raises) after ships. Perhaps starting with Ragamuffin, Privateer's Boy, or the Drunken Gollywobbler. Gollywobbler is adorable! Link to comment

I remember cause the name is supposed to have two Ls, but I had to drop one : P. This could, of course, change in 2.0. I don't recall if spaces were allowed in 1.0 or not. Link to comment

I agree on Shuttle being really cute and clever. Thanks! I didn't know you could name them in 1.0, although I don't think I was playing when chocobos were available, either. After I mess around with dungeons this weekend, I'll definitely be questing up to the point you get your chocobo companion so I can see what can be done with it. Link to comment

I'm trying to choose between a name for one of my old alts like Agrimony or Glitra, or something overly girly such as Cupcake or Lulu. When he's not stomping peoples faces, he's getting those beautiful nails painted "passion red" because he's a diva and plays no games. Yes, cuddles is -fierce-. Kidding. Maybe I'll name him Diva. It's a name I've taken a liking to and have used for pets in a few other games. I also like how Azthran and Kai sound when said together like that, then once we can get the job bardings deck him out in dragoon stuff. Link to comment

Altho I'd love to come up with something pithy, relevant or even inspiring as far as names go. I'll likely name mine Wump or something otherwise undignified and inglorious as it seems I always tend to when it comes to naming pets in games like this. It's not that I don't like my pet, it's just that I've been a dog owner to some very stupid dogs with, well stupid names. My fondness for their lack of intellect forces me to recall them in instances of pet nameing in games. Be glad I don't name it Kay F Cee... Link to comment

On Earth, Alcibiades was a strategically-minded general famous for defecting from Athens to Sparta, and then from Sparta to the Persian Empire, and then from the Persian Empire back to Athens, having been a valuable military asset to all three competing powers. In Eorzea, it seemed like a suitably pompous grown-up name for a little girl to give to her plush dodo and later carry over to her chocobo. I suppose that one could hand-wave the name onto a dead Scholar from ancient Nym -- the sort of name known only to highly literate people, which Kannadi would have read in one of those child-friendly books about ancient historical figures. One of them is named Naois, and in the story he carries Deirdre across the Loch-Ness on his shoulders. I'll be naming my chocobo Naois again, it was the same in 1.0, though I never really called attention to Deirdre's chocobo ICly. I hope to raise more chocobos when the game is released, so I can include the other names from the same story. Link to comment
