In need of some Female Miqot'e for some RP. (Balmung)

R'mah

Recommended Posts

I can't help but roll my eyes at this a bit. Seekers have messed-up gender roles in their society already, but from what we know and see in the game's lore, they don't use their women as currency. Based on your other threads looking for slavers, it seems like that's exactly what's going on.

So my question is this: is this Nunh a player's character, or an NPC created for the purpose of your big plot? Because someone somewhere is either drastically misunderstanding how Seekers work or intentionally writing a Nunh as doing something way more messed up than they normally would and being really sketchy in the process.

Well, considering that R'mah's working on a villain arc, I'd assume this Nunh isn't your typical Seeker. It might be an interesting addition to the arc: one or more of these girl's relatives find out what's going on and track the guy down...

Interesting idea, something that could very well be worked in i think.

God, WHAT?

I'm all for more mature themes, that shit happens, but I feel like this needs to be worked out a bit more before bringing the idea to the ENTIRE community. Wow.

If I was a female Miqote player I'd feel insulted.

You want to kick that Nunh is his Nunh parts too, don't ya?

Since I'm the player of that Nunh and people start assuming some...weird thing I have to clarify

My character doesn't want to -breed- or have anything with them. He mostly hate the female Miqo'te Seeker of the Sun because they never accept him as a Nunh when he challenge the last one and win. They said that he cheated his way into becoming a Nunh. So now he is on a mission to mostly humiliate all of them. He will use them to trade with slaver or anything else he can do to -remove- the pleasure and the freedom of those women.

So no I'm not looking for some ERP thing...:frustrated:

However, her thread title sounds like she wants ANY female Miqo'te. Not just the ones who supposedly wronged you. If you enslave or hurt any innocent sisters of the Moon, or even sisters of the Sun...

I will hunt you.

I will find you.

And I will RP you.

(Armor up your Nunh parts.)

It's interesting how people get so up in arms about this.

First of all, we're all adults here. Or at least teens. So in reality, if the prospect of some sort of trade of slaves for sex (which is the worst of what was proposed) bothers you, then why are you on this thread? Seems like it can do its own thing without you.

Second of all, all the assumptions. Does it matter what the Seeker lore is? Trust me, I know what it is, and R'mah probably does too. But who cares? She only said she wants to trade women to a Nunh. SHE doesn't care what he does with them. There's no fine print here. Assuming that she's ignorant of the lore because she made this kind of advert is rather presumptuous.

Third of all, remember, RP non-transparency. Threatening to beat up her or the Nunh because of this OOC ad is bad roleplaying. You don't know about it. She's not leaving a sign on a billboard in Ul'dah. She's asking people, OOC, if they're interested in a story hook.

Fourth of all... oh my god, sex. Even assuming this WAS about sex, which, as has been since established, it's NOT... why do people act as if the very notion of any kind of RP of that variety is a crime against nature? YES, people who RP just for sex tend to be one-dimensional ('tend', not always). YES most people don't want to see it. YES it should be kept away from the eyes of minors.

But seriously. It's a popular aspect of RP. It's PRETTY MUCH HARMLESS. Do people really deserve to be marginalized for it? Especially if they keep it private? I don't think anyone's talking about turning this board into a recruiting agency for a bordello, but at the same time, if someone wanted to do that, and kept it in-thread (maybe with a Mature Content warning) why should people froth at the mouth over it? Let's have a little maturity. It's revolting to ME that as a culture it's okay to talk about gore and dismemberment and torture, but as soon as sex appears, holy crap.

Because let's face it, this is the real issue here. If this were about any other kind of RP hookup, no one would bat an eyelash. I advise those who find offense here to do what they would NORMALLY do, and just not look.

I assure you Sir, my comment was in jest. ERP is treated as this big, bad taboo subject that needs to be swept under the carpet, even though some of the sweepers probably engage in it regularly. I blame catholicism.

However, since you have made it perfectly clear this is not the purpose of your plot, I will say this: your dude seems like quite the unsavory character. This could make for some very interesting rp for those seeking an antagonist, and to put their characters through the wringer.

I do have one serious, legitimate question though: your FC advertises themselves as good aligned, and yet your slave-trading, personal vendetta against women character seems anything but. Am I to assume you play the role of antagonist towards them too?

I don't wanna throw more brace in the fire, because this thread is far too hot enough but...I'm kinda surprised at how people is more shocked and indignated at the thought of ERP then slaves trade. I'm personally shocked at none since it's just fiction, and not everything can be cute fluffy happy, but...sure the thought of a Nunh collecting wmen to trade them as slaves and with the purpose of humilitiang them in the worse way possible would disgust me much more then a Nunh building an harem O.o

Sounds like a good villainous story to me! I think maaaybe the misunderstanding might have risen from the assumption that this was a recruitment purely for the sake of ERP without a character background that was well thought out.  Which can happen, although I haven't seen it on these boards, but I can see how people can get a little prickly about it.

I would hope every villain does not have to explain themselves to get players involved, but I think now that the explanation *is* out there, this might actually get more people interested in this arc.

A little chiming on here.

This whole concept is very poorly explained and portrayed. It sounds like ERP and it sounds like slave trading IC. If someone wants to play that way, more power to them, but I caution everyone about the dangers of the dark side of fantasy. Many good folk have fallen from grace all because they thought "what if" and tried out a darker setting. RP -is- about having fun and to some it's pushing the boundaries to explore new mindsets, outlooks, and possibly lifestyles, however I'm always concerned about those who move into that castle in the sky.

Karaan Nolan's player is a decent sort, albeit honestly kind of strange to me. I've RPed with him in the Harbingers and though our characters didn't get along, he was always fair, civil, and friendly OOC. I respect that. If he's working on this antagonist, I believe it's all above board. Not so sure about R'mah frankly, due to observing that player as well. This is all one man's opinion though and folks should choose how to take this info. R'mah has put a lot of effort into this story of hers and that's commendable.

Personally? The whole thing gives me the heebs, but to each their own.

Another quick explication

Karaan Nolan (Main) is in the Harbinger of Dawn who is an good align company

In this thread, I'm talking about T'iathar Nunh, my alt who is not in the Harbinger Icly (I 'm in there because I want buff :P or until I find a place to put this misogynist Nunh who see all Seeker of Sun Female like...enemy or thing (and I must insist on the Seeker of the Sun, my character have nothing against the Keeper of the Moon )

And yes, I find it funny that people are shock about the erp, but not about the fact that he wants to enslave and humiliate them.

And thanks Black Hat :)

If you wanna ERP that is your business, but I don't think you should advertise it.

I also am shocked about the humiliation and enslavement. If you need to do that, do it to NPCs don't advertise for people to put their characters in that kind of position. It feels fetish-y

I think this thread has been pretty clear that this is not an ERP request.  From my reading these are characters to be played once, maybe twice as a part of a transaction like extras in a movie.

I think people are shocked by the search for ERP not because its ERP, but the fact that ERP is the actual goal. There is no depth or interesting development that can come from it so people tend to just think that anyone looking for it is just seeking the perverse side of it all. I am also of this mindset. Here, I'll give you an example.

Two miqo'te that left their tribe, were useless at hunting and had no noteworthy skills so then turned to prostitution to make money. This has a possible story because its not something they particularly want to do rather than were forced to and they could eventually rise out of it and ultimately, erp was not their actual goal.

This sounds reasonable to me. I'd hate the thought of the people you'd encounter doing such a thing but overall it seems fine.

This topic on the other hand, no. The goal is ERP itself and I cannot see any interesting RP in this.

Sidestepping that, what I wanted to say was that I don't understand where you are getting this idea that sunseeker females are just sex slaves for nuhns. You make it sounds as if they are obligated to do it no matter what and there is nothing more to their being.

As a final note, I got confused somewhere through the topic. I'm not sure if this was actually the point after all, despite the title and OP's suggestive posts but just consider this reply to be an explanation if that was the case, as so many people at least seem to think it is.

I would like to mention that the slave trade is infact part of Eorzean Lore. So the idea that there would be people interested in buying or trading slaves, ICly, should not come as a surprise. If you don't believe me go level the Arcanist. Also, just because a person has there character doing something involving something of this nature that bother many OOCly does not mean that the person behind the character supports slavery OOCly.

Just reading this thread there seem to be too many people up in arms over RP. Keep IC in IC and OOC in OOC. Also

So no I'm not looking for some ERP thing...:frustrated:

The person who is being accused of advertising for ERP states right in a post saying he is NOT looking for ERP. That was not the original purpose for the post, yes it could have started off explained a bit better, but hindsight is 20/20.
