projektai Posted May 20, 2014 Share #126 Posted May 20, 2014 Oh wow, this is exactly what I've been seeking! My character's only recently begun to look into teaching-- are sign-ups still open? He's a WHM, though he could simply just teach Conjury! Let me know how I could get involved, please! Oh, so exciting! I'm crossing my fingers hoping I can make it to your next class. :moogle: Link to comment

Okay, okay, um..I just need a few days to figure things out. <3 Gotta figure out where he should begin teaching, and WHERE he should be teaching (sure, the conjurer's guild, but field trips are a must! ) And just..to get things in order. Oh man this is awesome~ 1 Link to comment
111 Posted May 20, 2014 Share #128 Posted May 20, 2014 Nat could teach fighting with the sword and shield. It wouldn't be "gladiator" training specifically, but more Paladin training. Or rather the precursor to Paladin training, sort of the first step on the path to becoming a free Paladin. Is it ok if I did that sort of training instead of Gladiator? Link to comment
Mae Posted May 20, 2014 Share #129 Posted May 20, 2014 Want to thank everyone who showed up for pugilist courses, both this week and last. You guys and gals have made this a fun and unique experience. ...apologies for Osric being such a blunt a-hole IC, it's just the way he gets with students! >_> I'll be throwing up a doodle sometime tonight or tomorrow for next weekend, see if we can't find a time that works for everyone, both those who've already attended and those who'd like to but can't due to scheduling. Remember: Cheat to Win, Run to Survive. BAH! I -knew- I was missing a class... sorry about that. Time zone changes and going in and out of the deserts in the Southwest have both messed up with my perception of time and availability to do much. Thank you very much for the botany class! I took screenshots of all the information. It was very interesting ^^ Sadly, I know nothing about botany irl (even less in English *laughs*), so my character couldn't contribute much. S'all good ^^ It's a class for a reason, y'know? I'm not sure Nesi would come back to the Botany or First aid ones, I feel like she knows more than the basics those lessons are teaching. First Botany class was designed to give basics on how to not get hurt out in the field (I wasn't able to fit in 'how to test for edibility' since I ran out of time), as the gardener doesn't have a lot of patience with people and would get quickly annoyed when/if people started coming down with contact rashes and cases of poison ivy. Next class should be far more interesting. ----- I'd like to thank everyone who did make it to the Botany class. That day had a loooot of panicking from me (from first realizing I was in the middle of the desert of Arizona and not likely to have a signal to having no-one show up to suddenly having a crowd!). Hopefully the next one will go just as well! Speaking of which... http://doodle.com/dzhqepn8wmn9d44y Same poll as last time, just edited to include further-out dates. Please check it and make any adjustments; as of right now it's looking like we'll be doing 2pm EST on Sunday the 25th. Link to comment

I think it would be fair of the Sultansworn to offer this kind of trainings, sort of "advanced" classes for practiced gladiators, hmm? Link to comment
plutosams Posted May 21, 2014 Share #131 Posted May 21, 2014 I really enjoyed the Botany class and am looking forward to the next one. Khior'a's personality is still coming together, but it was nice to be able to practice a bit. Also, it would awesome to have another conjury class! 1 Link to comment

Knight Kat Posted May 21, 2014 Share #133 Posted May 21, 2014 Lancer class update. Next class will be held on Saturday at 6pm PST. Only two signed up, so I had to go by their availability. However, since it is on a Saturday, maybe more people will show up. Again, all are welcome. Even if your character is only considering being a Lancer. The class is for all skill levels as well. Anything below a Master of the Lance can learn something. Link to comment
Rosekitten Posted May 21, 2014 Share #134 Posted May 21, 2014 I'll try to go to the class this time Kat No promises thus why I didn't want to sign up and have real life sort of explode on me. I'd love to get the chance to attend at least a few classes for my characters personal story progression to say the least <3 Link to comment

Shayrei Posted May 23, 2014 Share #140 Posted May 23, 2014 A notice has been posted: Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Chirurgeon Rysen's battlefield medic course will be postponed until the new moon. I greatly apologize for this inconvenience. Private instruction can be scheduled through the alchemist's guild. -Daphine Rysen ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daphine's world has kiiiinda blown up at the moment so she's a bit unavailable, but still around. Hopefully she'll be able to get somethings together and have another class in the next week or so. Doodle! Link to comment

Blue Posted May 25, 2014 Author Share #144 Posted May 25, 2014 Do the Archer classes have to be held in the actual Archer's guild? It is ideally a good idea to use the guild as the "starting point", when pupils and teacher still do not know each other, so that people have no IC excuses to get lost (everyone in town would be able to direction them to the guild). After that, the teacher can choose the place for training wherever. Mine was just a suggestion though, to gather the students at a known place to then move the class elsewhere, much like IRL. Rosekitten Posted May 25, 2014 Share #149 Posted May 25, 2014 Obvious there is at least one person interested in MRD classes but I was curious if there was others or not. If not I won't worry as much about setting up a time and just get up with the one person who seemed to want them. My main issue is that it's a bit difficult to set aside a certain amount of free time due to having a toddler and a newborn so I guess i'll say that here as a warning if I do hold classes for MRD there is a high chance I will need a moment or two every so often to tend to the little ones. My best suggestion in order for you to essay interest is to make a doodle with the doodle wizard tool (you can see the current open doodles at the bottom of the opening pages in the "pending date" links), offering the dates you can set up classes for (with a fair advance), and see how many people sign up in the next days. When you get a general idea of what day people would like, you can announce the official date (like Osric just did) for your class. Note that not everyone does sign up in the doodles, many will just look at the thread for announced dates and just show up, so don't be discouraged if you don't see many signatures on the doodle (And it works the other way around too, people sign up in the doodle and then end up not coming ). If you feel you can no longer set up a class for real life emergencies, that is fine, just make a disclaimer announcement here so that people know ahead and don't feel lost when the day comes and nothing happens.
