While - at the very beginning - this gathering was offered by Ojune and meant to escort Carina to Dragonhead, I only thought that we would find here a few low level in need of some protection to join the Coerthas. But things didn't go this way. MANY people gathered there and it was like the events actually began in Fallgourd and the procession which followed impressed me. I gave a lot of coats. In fact, I gave them all and my own as well. And this honestly both surprised me and made me pout a little : How many people didn't come to one of those events before because they can't afford some clothes ? So.. I suppose that in a way or another I'll offer my help on this side. Even if it's just a small thing (As I won't be able to craft some i110 gears for every single people coming haha ^^) at least I'm glad it helped a little. I took several screenshots of the events, I know that Jancis likes them i'd be more than happy to help you gather mats for coats next time; just shoot me a list and i'll bust out the botany gear ....and uh...punch some boars in the face for their skin.. >.> 1 Link to comment

For the clothing thing, my character could potentially have pulled off going without winter gear because she's had a lot of experience with cold temperatures, but I OOCly feel embarrassed going to an event looking unprepared and in low lvl crappy looking beginner gear. If I had my main on Balmung I would totally donate crystals and other mats as needed. I just thought of something neat- what if someone made a charity drive IC LS to connect crafters and gatherers to make clothing for events like these? Link to comment

Forever alone X3 I'm sorry, I'm fine, you don't have to look, I'm just amused X3 It was great to see you again! Also the whole walking back to Gridania and flying to Ul'dah was nice afterwards. Was literally going all day. By that time later on I figured it was a little late for a party so I'm sorry for that. Honestly it would be so convenient if the alliance thing didn't require 8+8(+8). I was late too and didn't know right away that I was supposed to have come with a party in advance. (Missed out on my chance to try and volunteer as a guard too.) I was really busy that day and didn't get to RP much, but maybe next time will be better! I am so sorry because I didn't realize you were late and without a party! I usually notice people showing up after the fact and then find them a group quietly. With so many people there from other linkshells I kind of assumed someone already grabbed up Jana and was entirely my fault; I should have asked and made sure. :blush::blush::blush: When the event was starting we called out everyone without parties and got them paired up. Ilwe'ran was a big help in getting some new people connected together and if I remember correctly that's partly why Alexander and Amara got acquainted before at the Halone event. I love the big events, but not all of them need to be an amass of text flying by for the entire time so for the two hours of the main thing it was nice to have "rooms" for people to talk in while still all being at the same event. I know I and many others have offered time and again for people to shout out that they don't have anything and go to find said person online and 'hook them up'. The only night gear I've ever remembered seeing is in the wvr demimat book (requiring field IIs I think?) which seems pricy and I thought I remembered most dress items being pretty expensive to make, though I forget what the bridesmaids stuff costs now that you can vendor purchase the set. I'll have to check the MB for RP clothes then, I guess because there is so much star lvl vanity clothing recipes that I assumed all vanity clothes were at star lvl and therefore prohibitively expensive to newer players :blush: I never used glamour on my main so I've never paid attention to this kind of thing 1 Link to comment

Everyone new it's so easy to feel that everything is 'beyond amazing' and then find out later that 'oh, it's only sort of amazing' and more importantly as things aren't brand new anymore they (at least in one color or partly) depreciate in value. Granted not everything is possible, but a little creativity can make something simple go a long way. A coat, a hat, come gloves, a hooded cowl. Say it's lined with fur. I guess overall the most important thing is never think about a reason not to go to an event. Make up an excuse, make up a reason, ask people to help to pull it off and get some pre-RP. People crave opportunities to help out and are just crouched ready to pounce on one idea. People are awesome like that. Link to comment

I mean I'm aware that there's an alliance thing you can do with parties but I didn't know it had that kind of limit... I mean, to be honest, I'd say it would not have been too late... The late-comer can make their late-coming post, through the party chat, and the party they're with has that freedom to either respond to it or approach them later on, you know? Definitely better than nothing! But it was fine... The not-so-charismatic but socially friendly and approachable Alexander still managed to mingle.... Err... More or less >w< Link to comment

I also was not sure about this party thing, but I am glad I was invited to one. I got to meet and interact with a few characters I have never met before. I know this sounds silly, thinking about these scarves makes me feel like people would be trying to look like bandits or avoid a spreading sickness... considering what people wear as their character's clothes.. who cares about the face if their arms and everything is exposed anyway. Though at the same time I guess depending on what people wear it'd be hard to see jewelry and it is also very level dependent for the look. You mean you heard things about jewells ? The event is pretty overwhelming on top of answer questions in whispers and other spots. I did an awful job keeping up with the party chat. When I'm on mumble that's about the most I talk and even then it's not amazing (Poor Xenedra :blush:) I'm thinking until Oschon it should be a bit smaller and calmer as a pilgrimage so that should help. And soon we'll have sunshine and other things to worry about, not the cold! Though at the same time I guess depending on what people wear it'd be hard to see jewelry and it is also very level dependent for the look. of course not. this is just some suggestions on items that can be passed out as ppe for the people since from the sounds of it; it's a pretty dangerous area. but in the end; it's your decision and i'm sure ilwe will make whichever items you'll like handed out at the event. i'm just mostly debating the uses for some ideas but offering help in gathering mats for the most part. i really have enjoyed the two events that i've been able to attend so far and a lot of fighting/drama is the last thing i want to see happen at them. trust me; these are very relaxed and enlightening and i'd hate to see them be derailed from that focus :3 Link to comment
