Tali Posted August 23, 2015 Share #78 Posted August 23, 2015 Its super late here, so a proper writeup will come after a good nights sleep! In the meantime though, have some screenies snapped during the night! And a HUGE thanks to everyone that turned up and made it enjoyable! See you all in a fortnight <3 http://imgur.com/a/Ugz7n Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted September 4, 2015 Author Share #79 Posted September 4, 2015 We open our doors again tomorrow night, folks! What do we have planned? Well, I'm glad you asked! With all the fancy swimsuits the Moonfaire Faire has offered, we had clothing on the brain, and have decided to hold... A fashion contest! No particular theme so you're free to be as creative as you like. We'll have one category for men and another for women, and then you, our wonderful patrons, will decide upon the winners! The bar opens as normal at 19.00 BST (GMT+1) and then the contest will begin at around an hour later. We'll make an announcement, as per usual, just before we get things started. Start rummaging through your armoires and wardrobes and show us who's the best dressed in Costa! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted September 5, 2015 Author Share #80 Posted September 5, 2015 We open in 20 minutes and Jino'ya Traore is going to be running the contest. Hope to see folks there! Link to comment
Tali Posted September 18, 2015 Share #81 Posted September 18, 2015 Jackal & Hide are proud to present: The 15th Sunny Seaside Bar Mmhmm, we're back again folks! And this time (once more), the entertainment falls squarely 'pon the shoulders of our budding, adventurous guests for the eve. (That's you. All of you. You're our guests.) The shelves are stocked, the glasses are gleaming, and the stools are sturdy. All is in place. For what, I imagine hearing you ask? For your ideas, that's what (Twelve have mercy on us). For this week, for the entertainment of folks on both sides of the bar, we'll be giving you the chance to go nuts, let that imagination go wild, and create your very own drink for the brave souls and stomachs that want to be the judges. As ever, our 'doors' open at the nineteenth bell, and we'll give you alcoholics an entire bell (Or so) to come up with imaginative, creative names and mixing ideas. Then? Then, at the twentieth bell we'll be clearing out from behind the bar, and handing it over to our flock of fledgling mixologists to create their compelling concoctions to the delight of all, and to the intoxication of the chosen few. Judges will be picked on a first-come, first-served basis, and better have stomachs of steel at the very minimum, 'cause we'll not be providing buckets beyond those the entrants choose to serve their drinks in. Winning entry gets a special place in our hearts, and more importantly, a place on our menu*. Beyond that? It'll be another night of sun-kissed (Rain-drenched) relaxation. And we rather hope to see you all there! Regards, Kilid *That menu's coming, don't worry! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted September 20, 2015 Author Share #82 Posted September 20, 2015 Once again, thank you all for coming last night! The mixology contest went down a treat and we'd like to congratulate... Nailah Quill! Her concoction of strawberry schnapps, melon and banana liqueurs, pineapple juice, orange juice and cranberry juice, which she dubbed The Rainbow ("Because it blows sunshine up your butt!" ™), will now be a regular feature on our menu! It was a close contest, however! Pae'a Atiyeh, Ludivine Goultard and Kalam'ra Shadhavar also made some spectacular drinks. We'd like to thank them, and our judges (Scarlet Heath, Sumi Kha, Aeron Volkova and Stone Wall), for a fantastic evening. See you all again in a fortnight! In the meantime, enjoy some screenshots. DeletedUser Posted October 2, 2015 Author Share #84 Posted October 2, 2015 We open tomorrow night as per usual, folks! Once again, our entertainment for the eve is going to be... D-D-D-DODGEBALL! Kilid has previously explained the rules here. Have a read if you're interested in participating and decide whether you want any modifiers to your rolls. It's a lot of fun and proved quite popular in the past, so don't hesitate to give it a go! Hope to see you all there! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted October 5, 2015 Author Share #85 Posted October 5, 2015 Sorry for the lateness but thank you all once again for attending on Saturday! We had a great time and hope you did too. Lots of new faces and the bar was humming with activity all night! The dodgeball match was a lot of fun, and Team Jackal got to stand triumphant once more. We open up again on 17 October but with a slight change: we'll be providing the food and drink for the First Annual Flame Festival at Silver Bazaar, Western Thanalan, instead of our usual location of Hidden Falls. Hope to see lots of folks there! Link to comment
Nirri Posted October 5, 2015 Share #86 Posted October 5, 2015 Ah yesh! The saturday where JH-RP struck true at dodgeball and won strong! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted October 16, 2015 Author Share #87 Posted October 16, 2015 Just a little reminder that yes, we are opening on Saturday, but we'll be at the Silver Bazaar in Western Thanalan to provide the food and drinks for the First Annual Flame Festival! See you all there! Link to comment
Tali Posted October 28, 2015 Share #88 Posted October 28, 2015 'Tis the very great pleasure of Jackal & Hide to be able to announce The 17th Sunny Seaside Bar Oh aye folks, ain't no rest for the wicked, and guess what? The wicked is what we'll be celebrating this coming bar! In honour of everyone's most feared favourite night, we'll be bringing the fright with our own special take on All Saint's Wake... ALL SPIRITS WAKE All night long, all spirits* will be half price. You read that right, half price! We've no idea what... eheh, 'possessed' us (Spirits, clearly!) when we came up with something so clearly insane, but might just be crazy enough to wake the dead! The aftermath will be grisly. The aftermath be gory. The aftermath will... probably be splattered all over your floor. How ghastly.** But surely that can't be the only big thing for such an auspiritscious night? There must be more in sight? Such a wasted opportunity, we hear you cry in fright! And it turns out you'd be right; the events for the night are two-fold: Firstly, we found the trick to a good All Saints' Wake night is to have a good old-fashioned costume contest, with the winner being decided by, Twelve help us, public vote. Dress to kill, folks!*** Secondly, and this is the real treat of the evening... a spooky story-off! Bring your most haunting tales and chilling fables, folks! Fact or fiction, myth or legend, if it deprives the audience of sleep that night, it belongs. (We don't expect the costume contest to take all that long, and so we'll be kicking that off at the twentieth bell (20:00) with the aim to get to the tale-telling by the twenty-first (21:00)) Hope to see some new fa-... actually, no, we don't. We hope to see lots of masks and costumes that night, folks! Regards, Kill-id * And all drinks involving spirits ** Jackal & Hide are, honestly, quite relieved we don't have to see any of you the following morning. *** Metaphorically, of course 2 Link to comment
Capheira Posted October 31, 2015 Share #89 Posted October 31, 2015 Short bump for the above post! Just under twelve hours away, so be sure to line your stomachs (or don't!) and get those costumes ready! Start time of 19:00GMT, which is automatically converted here! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted October 31, 2015 Author Share #90 Posted October 31, 2015 With the costume contest over, we're closing up a little early tonight and heading over to the Rendezvous Kimodameshi! If anyone is looking for us, that's where we'll be shortly! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted November 1, 2015 Author Share #91 Posted November 1, 2015 Once again, thank you all for coming last night! Congratulations as well to our contest winners, X'raena Tsunhe, Ciciru Ciru and Rufus Wightman! You all had fantastic costumes, very impressive! We'll see you all again in a fortnight; in the meantime, have some screenshots. Link to comment
Tali Posted November 14, 2015 Share #92 Posted November 14, 2015 'Tis the very great pleasure of Jackal & Hide to be able to announce The 19th Sunny Seaside Bar Imagine our great surprise when, 'pon checking the calendar we realised that, lo and behold, it's that time of the month again folks! It's been go, go ,go of late, and so we thought we'd take the opportunity to make this eve one of relaxation and rest. There's no big event, there's no show-stealing sports, it's just... restful. From the nineteenth bell, our metaphorical doors open (as ever) to the public, offering drinks a plenty and a surprise bonus from our resident renowned songstress Odette, who'll be making the rounds and serenading your collective smiling faces. 'sides from that... business as usual, folks. Hope to see you there! Regards, Kilid Link to comment
Tali Posted November 28, 2015 Share #93 Posted November 28, 2015 'Tis the very great pleasure of Jackal & Hide to be able to announce The 20th Sunny Seaside Bar It never ends, folks! This week for the big two-oh, we're doing what we do best. Dodgeball! Depending on the numbers, we might even split it into two matches simultaneously this time around. Exciting, no? Side from the sandy fields of ball-based battle, the bar will be operating as normal for the first hour, before shifting down to the sands to continue serving during the matches. As simple as can be! Looking forward to seeing some... 'good sportsmanship'* this eve, folks! Regards, Kilid *By 'good sportsmanship' We mean fantastic feats of athletic ability and daring, do-or-die blasts of dexterous devestation. If you want to rub the losing team's face in the sand after, that's really entirely down to you. Link to comment
Tali Posted December 10, 2015 Share #94 Posted December 10, 2015 'Tis the very great pleasure of Jackal & Hide to be able to announce The 21st Sunny Seaside Bar 'Tis the season to be chilly, folks! Of course, it's rarely cold in Costa, but we aren't going to let that dampen our spirits (Or freeze the spirits, thankfully!), 'cause we're smart hosts, and realised that Costa wouldn't be fitting for what we have planned. (What we have planned isn't going to be god for the spirits, much to their alcoholic dismay.) More on that in a minute, but first a notice for all you beautiful people. Our Starlight Celebrations are happening a little early this year, entirely down to the way we space out the Sunny Seaside Bar's (Too much of a good thing, and all that.), and because we reckon most folks have better things to be doing roundabout when the next Bar is supposed to be scheduled for! As such, this coming bar is when we'll be hosting the Sunny Seaside Bar Snowy Seaside Bar? Sunny Snowside bar? it's when we'll be hosting our Starlight celebrations! And now for the biggest notice: We're straight up saying now that the 21st bar'll also be the final bar this year, folks! Inarah and I have plans, and we'll not be asking any Jackal to give up their time when they could be spending it elsewhere with loved ones, and all that wonderful stuff! We highly recommend you do the same, if you have loved ones. (If not, it's the season to find some!) Now... as to where we're holding it? Well, we're hoping to see a lot of your smiling faces up in the chilly climes of Coerthas! It's taken a lot of negotiation, and no small amount of diplomacy, but for a sole weekend, we'll be hosting the celebrations out of the bar in Dragonhead! Naturally, attire suited for a Starlight celebration get together is a must, no two ways about it! We'd also recommend that, while dressing to look good for the occasion, you also dress for war, folks! See, the entertainment this bar? Twofold. Firstly, it's whatever you decide to make yourselves. You've got malms of snow to work with, I'm sure your amazing imaginations can come up with something! Second, we're declaring the entirety of the region outside of the bar as fair game for a snowball fight, hence dressing for war! Inside the bar? That's an enforced no-snow zone, so come and take refuge with a rum. Find sanctuary with a spirit. Bask in the brilliance of a brew. In short, keep us company as we enjoy the warmth of a snowy Starlight celebration. Hope to see you there, folks, and thanks for a memorable year. Regards, The Jackals And now for a quick OOC blurb, 'cause I've not done one of these in a while. First off, the location of the bar, for those who haven't been there before! Second, yes, this is going to be the final Sunny Seaside Bar of 2015! The next one was scheduled to occur on Boxing day, immediately after Christmas day, and we figure that a lot of you will be busy doing other things around then. We know we will, and sadly won't be about to bring you the bar. As it happens, the one after that doesn't happen until January 9th, so... the last one of 2015! 21 bars... S' not a bad haul, that! Thanks for making it as enjoyable as it has been, folks! 2 Link to comment

Tali Posted December 13, 2015 Share #97 Posted December 13, 2015 A~~~nd another bar down! Not just any bar, either, but the final one for 2015. (Have I said that before?) 21 bars in a year... s' not a bad haul, that. Of course, Inarah and I wouldn't have bothered continuing these things in the early days if they weren't enjoyable, and the only reason they were enjoyable is because of all the people that turned up, whether they were a Jackal or no. Over the course of the year we've gained regulars, we've encountered folks that passed through just the once on their travels, and we've met folks that turn up just about whenever the heck they want. In short, more folks than we can count, and you were all amazing. And so, to all of you, a huge thank you. It's the people that make the bar, and the bar, this year, was glorious. So in turn, you're all glorious bastards, and we here at Jackal and Hide love you all to bits. And to all the Jackals that helped out over the course of the year, both those here now and those who have moved on to greener pastures, Inarah and I want to offer an extra big thanks. You've all been trials, and you've all been tribulations (And so have we), but we'd have imploded without your help and support, so... yeah. Thanks, and stuff. S' not like we like you all, or anything. Baka. Anyway, screenshots! Link to comment
DeletedUser Posted January 8, 2016 Author Share #98 Posted January 8, 2016 Good evening, folks! We open the bar again on Saturday at 7 pm GMT, as usual. Our entertainment this week will be a travelling bard who recently crossed paths with us, Savo Kesslivang! Now, it's been nearly a year since the first Sunny Seaside Bar but we're pleased, proud and relieved to finally present our official menu! To mark this momentous occasion, we'll be featuring food as well as drinks from this night onward. Many thanks to Kilid for his hard work on the layout and various members of staff for contributing to the recipes within. Hope to see all you lovely folks soon! 1 Link to comment

It was a great start to a new year and we were pleased to debut our new menu with it. A few snapshots from the evening: See you all again in two weeks! Link to comment
