  1. ((Note: This takes place right after this scene. If any character happens to be at the Sagolii desert, whether or not you're from the Hipparion tribe, feel free to join if you'd like!)) The sky had turned into a black mantle, immense and beautiful above the calm desert. Underneath it, two insignificant figures could be spotted moving in the vast land of sand. K'nahli had been walking for a while now, her annoyance displayed with the hurry of her movements and the deep marks her feet left. She had yet to let go of her younger sister's hand. K'mih turned her head back for a moment, noticing how their siblings were no longer in sight. Careful not to trip, her gaze travelled to her sister's back again. "K'nahli..." Her voice was soft and careful. Also concerned. She knew that K'nahli hadn't been happy with the recent meeting, but it wasn't clear if anything of what K'mih said had contributed to her mood. Whatever K'nahli was thinking, she wanted to know.
  2. (I'm very sorry for the late reply, the forum didn't give me any notice that I'd been quoted (X_X) ) I always turn it off manually myself as well. I've never been troubled by that, truth be told, since toggling it off is very easy. Sorry that I can't be of much help. I love the screens people have been posting. Keep them coming!
  3. Haha, this sounds like fun. It's nice to see Costa del Sol become so lively. Sadly, none of my two characters are good material for this kind of event (mainly because they live too far away). I'll see if I can find any reasonable excuse when the time comes. If I can't, I guess I'd rather not force the story, as much as I'd like to participate. Clearly, I need a lalafell.
  4. K'mih's bicolour eyes opened wider, brightening at K'ailia's words of approval. Surprising as it might be that anything of what she'd said could be found useful in any way, she couldn't help the resulting rush of joy. Just a moment ago, the young Miqo'te had been afraid of being completely useless; being told otherwise was always a relief. "I'm very glad, K'a--" Both her words and her hopeful smile were interrupted by K'nahli's not very amused tone, followed by her hand grabbing her younger sister's. The blue haired Miqo'te took K'mih away from the meeting spot, rushing back to the camp as if the meeting was over. "¿E-eh? B-but... K'nahli...!" Despite her timid attempt to understand what was going on, K'mih didn't oppose her sister; she hardly ever did. She trusted that K'nahli would share what was in her mind once they were alone. Or so she hoped.
  5. I believe that Theodric's point is quite clear and means no harm, so I'm also surprised at the strong reactions it's getting (especially when the word "despise" is even involved) o.oa I tend to be quite chill when it comes to RP. I admit I'm the kind who thinks that people should RP as they like and I should just deal with whatever happens. This attitude placed a past character of mine in a very uncomfortable scene where she was nearly raped (it didn't go further because I had to finally step ahead OOCly and let the other player know that I very much wanted my character to be saved asap *laughs*). That wasn't the nicest thing for me, so yes, Theodric's point basically means that we must set a limit on things that we allow when we RP. No idea of why anyone should despise that, but oh well ^^; I doubt I have misunderstood him. Also, if there's something I will avoid when I RP? That's very touchy RPers. People who make a big deal out of other people's harmless opinions, and who try to make other people feel guilty for stating them. I like being able to have a casual conversation with someone who, hopefully, won't jump on my neck over anything I say.
  6. Thank you very much for your comments! It took us a while to make, so I'm glad you liked the scene >///< Kismet> I tend to use SweetFX, but I actually didn't use it with those screens. I did photoshop them heavily, though ^^ LiadansWhisper> Those screens are really good! I love how you make any corner of the world look beautiful and interesting. For example, Aleport didn't catch my attention in-game much, but your screen makes it look like a different, more eye catching place. At least that's how I felt when I saw it. Nice job!
  7. "E-eh?" The pink haired Miqo'te's eyes grew wider, startled by K'ailia's sudden attention. Having the spotlight for such a delicate matter was difficult, especially when her thoughts had become such a mess. For a moment, all K'mih could do was lower her eyes, apologetic. Luckily for her, K'nahli spoke again, regaining all the attention much to K'mih's relief. The time her sister had gained for her with her apology helped her gather some of courage. "I think..." her voice could be finally heard after K'nahli's intervention, albeit it didn't raise much. "Adults have seen many things we can only imagine... They have more knowledge than us on how the world works..." She looked at her sisters, trying to find the right words, afraid that she'd be unable to convey her message. Afraid of being unsure of what that message even was. "Perhaps we should also ask for their opinion, perhaps the whole tribe should sit together and discuss what to do... Because... we must do something, and this much should be acknowledged by everyone. I-if we seek the good of our tribe, shouldn't we count on the whole tribe for this?"
  8. I didn't tell you ;_; I simply said that I had guessed you would and was even happy that you kept Miah alive through her original name but you wanted to change it! Sorry, I meant that you suggested it and I liked the idea *falls*.
  9. Aaah, the sad elitism. One of the reasons why I'm taking long holidays from Mabinogi:Heroes (the other being that only elitists seem to have luck with drops *sweatdrops*). I've been taking my time and enjoying the game, but lately I've been wondering what exactly I'm going to do when I reach end-game. What's more, people (even RPers) seem to only want parties of players who already have the equip which drops in those dungeons (????) and tons of experience in them (????). I guess having friends willing to help you in your first runs is completely essential.
  10. As K'nahli unleashed her frustration and contained annoyance through her words, K'mih's hands travelled up to her chest, head lowering slightly to them and shoulders up in an attempt to curl up against herself. Angry K'nahli was scary. K'mih couldn't help but to feel really sorry for K'mana right now, for the Miqo'te was currently the focus of her sister's anger. Perhaps K'mana would be unappalled, but to the pink haired girl, such a situation was terrifying.
  11. Nervous, K'mih listened to the different opinions, trying to get a better grasp of the situation. She'd been hopeful when she arrived, curious to find out what kind of solution she could contribute to. However, things turned out to be slightly different. Her sister K'nahli had always been a figure K'mih admired and loved. Her words, an unmistakable truth in K'mih's ears. When her sister spoke of pessimism about K'ailia's plan, K'mih really felt that nothing could be done. The embodiment of K'nahli's influence took shape in eyes that travelled down to the ground, together with ears and tail that no longer felt the energy to defy gravity. She only raised her gaze to meet K'ailia's after a moment, unable to hide her worry. Unable to speak or offer a solution, powerless. Around them, the immensity of a darkening sky witnessed their struggle in a world that threatened to crush them, and everything, even the familiar air from the desert, felt wrong. (I'm so small). She thought, voiceless.
  12. Clover's is Cinnamon. K'mih's... I was unsure, so K'nahli told me to call her chocobo Coco. I liked the idea.
  13. This is a shoujo manga scene I RPed with F'yue the other day (he only RPs in Spanish, sadly). We tried to somehow represent it through screenshots for fun, since FFXIV's emote system is absolutely wonderful. Just for the record, F'yue is an an amnesic Miqo'te Clover found unconscious in the river. She has allowed him to live with her for a few days, hoping to help him figure out who he is. In order to repair her kindness, he's been doing his best to be as useful as possible.
  14. I've only played with Japanese voices myself. The only time I heard an English voice was when I accidentally clicked one of the trailers, thinking that it'd be in Japanese. I only heard the crystal speaking in English and I can't say I liked it. Granted, I'm not an English speaker myself, so I don't know how good or bad it's supposed to be; I just know it didn't sound good to me, especially comparing it with her original voice. (In any case, since English isn't my mother tongue, I have no reasons to play a Japanese game dubbed in a foreign language that's not Japanese).
  15. I only liked the Japanese sets 1 and 2. The rest are not of my liking at all.
  16. You have to understand those poor non RPers. Finding random RP that's completely unrelated to you can really ruin your gameplay. Even your life. No reason, it just happens.
  17. Believing that her sister K’nahli might be there already, K’mih ran as fast as she could through the desert. No matter how vast that place was, it was still her home and she'd got to know it quite well; she wouldn’t get lost. When the young Miqo'te finally arrived at the gate, she was also breathless from all the running. “H-hello!” Was her exhausted, breathy greeting. A pang of surprise didn’t take long to be reflected in her eyes when she realized that K’nahli was nowhere to be seen. She’d arrived early, apparently.
  18. Clover blinked just once when the warrior took her hand, eyes opening a bit more than before. Her previous determination had subdued, leaving her with a hint of shyness and surprise. It wasn't just the unprecedented way he was displaying his gratitude, but also his outstanding chivalrous manners. The hyur girl had spent the past five years of her life living in a city of pirates, after all; everything she'd seen was a huge contrast with this young man. Once both were standing, Clover took her hand back slowly, shaking her head in refusal. "You've saved us all. You owe me nothing." What followed was her head lowering in a deep, respectful bow. Even if there wasn't a trace of a smile in her face or voice, her gestures and tone were still full of gratitude. "Thank you very much. Please stay safe from now on." This said, she turned to the carriage. The other soldiers seemed to be out of danger, so it was time to continue the eventful trip to Gridania. 19. I'd like for Clover to ICly join the Twin Adders, so I'm very interested in any RP group who will focus on this, especially if some players will play the role of our superiors. It'd be cool if we had a real Grand Company structure, with high ranks who will take the lead and soldiers who will do as they're ordered. I can't join any FC, however, as I'm already in an European one (X_X) Also, I believe someone was making a FC/Linkshell dedicated to the Twin Adders. I have a fish memory and can't remember the name, but I hope they see this thread and post here! I think you should join forces ^^
  20. Um, my characters' weakness... -Clover: She's been too focused on magic and helping her family's business that she didn't make many friends. Her magic isn't very powerful either, but hopefully she'll keep learning and improve. -K'mih: She's quite naive and impressionable, so I imagine that fooling her would be easy. She's also not the strongest Miqo'te around. Not the weakest either, but anyone with serious training and/or a brain would likely defeat her. That's what I know so far! =========== As for the debate of characters having too many weaknesses or too many strengths or being too happy or too sad, I personally don't care. Each character is a completely different world, and not everyone is going to be a perfect mix of everything. That doesn't happen irl, why should it happen in the RP? Also, I love tragic, sad stories. FFXIV just doesn't inspire me for them because I find it too happy and innocent (yes), but other games like Mabinogi:Heroes do. It's so depressing, deep, and plain beautiful that it remains unrivalled in my mind.
  21. "K'mih? What's that?" K'mihgazu had caught her sixteen years old daughter reading a mysterious piece of paper. Her curiosity only worsened when the girl, startled, hid it quickly behind her back. K'mih was too much of an open book to keep secrets from her mother, really. "I-it's... a letter from K'ailia..." The young one confessed, looking at her mother with an apologetic smile. Suspicious, the woman extended her arm towards her. "Can I see it?" Was her request, but K'mih limited herself to lower her eyes to the ground, keeping the note behind her back. "K-K'ailia wants it to be a surprise, I don't think I should betray her..." "What kind of surprise?" "If I tell you it's nothing bad, will you trust me...?" "......" K'mihgazu believed that K'mih had grown into a clumsy, naive girl, but she definitely was an honest Miqo'te. If she said it wasn't bad, her mother would have to believe it. There was a long pause, before the woman finally sighed. "Alright." "T-thank you, mama!" With that, K'mih hurried out of her tent, leaving a curious mother who wondered what the mischievous K'ailia was up to this time.
  22. I thought the AoE system was a bug *falls*. I guess I prefer real time combat systems (like Mabinogi:Heroes/Vindictus or Tera), but I must say I've ended up enjoying the FFXIV system as well. Still not my favourite, but not bad either.
  23. Clover would have insisted, indeed, but it wasn't necessary. It only took the warrior a few seconds to realize on his own how much he needed medical attention. She helped him on his way to the tree and knelt down by his side, facing him as he rested his back against the trunk. Then, she proceeded to take a quick look at his wounds. It wasn't difficult to assess what the most severe one was-- the injury crossing his chest from side to side, without a doubt. Her expression remained serious the entire time, clearly concentrated on her task; she was unaware of his gaze on her, and truth be told, it was also irrelevant at that moment. It wasn't the first time she had to deal with such a situation, was it? Ah, but those memories weren't something she needed now. Even if everything had been fine back then, even if she did well. Holding the small branch, Clover closed her eyes and placed both hands in front of the warrior's chest, not quite touching it. A soft, warm light started emanating from them. It wasn't a quick process, but it'd be enough to at least close the wound and prevent it from bleeding. As she did this, his voice could be heard as a question. The girl's eyes remained shut as she replied, her expression still the same. "My magic is not very good yet, but I'm glad I could be of any help." Little by little, the young man could feel how the pain from his chest diminished. After a moment, Clover's eyes opened again, and this time they raised to meet the warrior's. "How are you feeling now?"
  24. I *think* my alt K'mih Yohko is in the linkshell. Please kick her out whenever, I wouldn't mind!
  25. The beasts had finally fallen, victims of elezen and hyuran blades. With this small battle -which luckily didn't cause major loss beyond their own deaths-, their threat had been temporary eradicated from that path. "Phew, that was dangerous!" the bearded traveller said, taking a sip from his bottle of wine. He really needed it. The rest of the passengers also displayed relief, for some of them had feared the worst just a few seconds ago ago. Clover grabbed her bag and jumped her way out the wagon to run beside the injured hyur, the stranger who'd defended them almost at the cost of his life. He might not be the only injured soldier, but he was the one whose wounds she'd witnessed, at least, and it was clear that he needed medical attention as soon as possible. Besides, he didn't look like a Wood Wailer, nor did he seem to be as prepared for battle as they were; it was as if he'd joined the skirmish out of pure altruism. "Please, sit down against that tree," she spoke from behind, interrupting his inspired moment of contemplation. The girl's face remained serious, her tone a mix between a request and a command. She made it clear that she was there to help him, and that any kind of refusal would not be accepted. ((OOC: I'd love to add more screens, but being on a trip makes it difficult ;_; ))
