The K tribe seems to have several members willing to make it active, so I think we could definitely create a big tribe out of this. It'd be cool if we had a leader figure (or several), who will be supposed to make the most important decisions for the Tribe. It'd also be interesting if we had an active Nunh and several Tias, since Tias are supposed to want to dethrone the Nunh (wounding him, at least) and that might create so much tension and conflict for whoever plays him. Who else is up for joining the K tribe? The more, the merrier! ^^ I've decided that my Miqo'te F'miah will be renamed as K'mih, since that seems to sound like Japanese Kumi and I find it cute. I've also convinced my friend Wolf to play my Miqo'te's sister, who will naturally be a part of the Tribe as well. I have a question, however. have you planned who all the past Nunhs were? I'm asking because my character's last name was initially Yohko, which means that there was supposed to be a Nunh called K'yohko in the past, even if he didn't last much. Would that work or should I change her last name? I'm very fond of it, but I'll try to adapt.

Hohoho, welcome! I'm glad you finally obeyed me wrote an entry post ^^ I can't tell if you'll like the game itself, but perhaps the RP alone will make the experience worth it for you. I'll be happy to RP with you here! (Also, thank you for giving my Miqo'te a sister, now I'm excited about playing her ;w; )

It certainly was a strange situation for the two of them. The little guest’s eyes had quickly avoided the other girl, her nervousness was palpable, and Clover couldn’t but perceive a trace of uneasiness in her strange accent. Perhaps she didn’t want to go out after all? “.........” The brown haired girl turned her head back to her mother in confusion, as if wanting to ask how good of an idea this actually was. The poor woman gestured with her hands now that Alana was looking at the side, encouraging –more like silently commanding- her daughter to take her new friend out. Just in case her signal hadn’t been clear enough (and judging from Clover’s silence, that seemed to be the case), she also spoke with her permanent smile. “Oh, it’s no trouble at all! Clover will be happy to go with you. She needs a break from all the working! Have fun, girls.” At that, Clover’s eyes returned to her new friend and nodded after a second, before she started walking out of the store. Both their fathers were busy with the merchandise and the friendly talking, leaving the girls to their own business. Clover kept walking, expecting Alana to follow her. She wouldn’t turn her head towards Alana until just a moment later, when they stood right on top of a bridge. A crystalline river greeted the view under their feet, gracing the moment with a soft, watery murmur. Clover’s expression remained unchanged, serious as she usually was, albeit not necessarily unfriendly. “Is Gridania very different from the place you live in?” She asked, and it wasn’t just mere curiosity. She needed to know where Alana came from in order to figure out what would be interesting for her to see.

Very nice!! I love your lines and the way you display your character's charisma. I have to applaud (and envy) your patience too, as you've drawn many different fanarts. I'm always amazed at people who can draw a lot and post often ;w; Last but not least, as the fujoshi I am, I appreciate all the BL *laughs*.

I love this idea! I'm up for any event that manages to reunite a lot of characters together. Truth be told, I doubt my main character would (initially) want to tell any kind of story to anyone, but I hope she can still attend the event as an spectator.

Miqo’te Mating Strategies Explored: a biologist’s point of view
Clover replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in Lore Discussion
Speaking of mating strategies... does anyone have any idea of what age do Miqo'tes breed at? I'm fearing it'd be a very young age. I don't want my Miqo'te to have had any experience with males (unless the RP itself naturally changes this fact), but I don't want to imagine she's 11 just to make sure that she hasn't done anything *sweatdrops*. I wonder if 16 would be a good age for her. I feel that making her older would be pushing it. -
Thank you! I'm glad if you do (>///<)

Night breeze. I miss this game, I can't wait to play it again ;A;

Naunet> Thank you very much for the information! That sounds awesome. A traditional Seeker tribe was exactly what I was looking for, as it's so different from the human society and I'm already going to RP that one as my hyur. I also love how unique your character is, for I never thought I'd ever see a Miqo'te in her 50s! However, please let me know if I understood this correctly. Your character has detached herself from the tribe, and her three daughters are currently missing. If that's the case and I joined the tribe, would I be alone? ;w; On a side note, I've always liked the idea of my character going on a journey to find missing members from the tribe / family members / anyone who detached themselves from the tribe and who is considered important, hoping to convince them to come back. Not sure if such a thing could be applied here.

As Alana spoke, Clover simply stared at her, curious, green eyes glued to the poor girl who’d been left alone in unknown territory. She didn’t notice how unnerving being watched could be; she didn’t even notice she was starting at her so blatantly, as if she felt like some sort of ghost who could observe her surroundings without being seen. "That’s very nice of you, Alana!" Clover’s mother said, smiling tenderly as an attempt to make her young guest a bit more at ease. Of course, she didn’t miss this chance and looked at her daughter. "Clover is always helping us as well. You don’t know each other yet, do you?" "Clover, why don’t you go out with Alana and show her around while we work?” Her father added, forcing the situation. “I have to help Mr. Black now; just leave everything up to us and don’t worry." The brown haired girl’s lips parted as if she was about to say something, but nothing came out of them. Her father left the store with both a smile on his face and fingers crossed, while her mother placed an encouraging hand on her back. With no other choice, Clover took a few steps towards her new friend. "Hello, I’m Clover..." she said without raising her voice much, as politely as she could even if she wasn’t smiling. Clover wasn’t visibly as nervous as the other girl -partially because it wasn’t her the one who’d been brought to an unknown place-, but the moment was also tense and awkward for her. "...Let's go outside, I'll show you around if you'd like..."

Character creator (*o*) I wonder if it'll have some new hairstyles!

What games are you playing/looking forward to?
Clover replied to Orlog's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
My main game is Mabinogi:Heroes (Vindictus EU server). Even after FFXIV is released, I don't think I'll leave that one. It's some sort of a home for me. I also play Tera sometimes, but only when there are RP events. The only non MMORPG I also play is Skyrim. As for games I'm waiting for, FFXIV is the main one right now. I used to wait for Blade and Soul and I even started RPing a story based on it with my partner, but I don't care much about it right now. -
//Note: Obligatory apology about my English mistakes. I hope to keep learning >A< Year 1571. Like every other morning, Clover had woken up early to help her parents with the store. That was all the 12 cycles old girl seemed to dedicate her time to, and despite how helpful she’d been, her parents had been worried about her alarming lack of friends. It wasn’t normal, not even healthy for a girl her age to spend all her time taking care of adult business, instead of playing outside with other children. “Clover, you should start doing the things other girls do,” her father had said one day. “Wouldn’t you like to have friends you could play with?” “...What for?” was Clover’s reply after an almost offending moment of silence, keeping the serious expression she usually sported. Sometimes, her father had thought that perhaps she was too mature for her age. Other times, more so lately, he pondered on how maybe she’d just grown into a very clumsy, very awkward human being. Perhaps it was his fault; he should have encouraged her to play more when she was younger, instead of using all the help they could get to get their store running during difficult times. That morning, a morning like any other, some familiar customers rang the bell. It was Clover’s mother who answered it, displaying a very bright smile when she recognized who it was. “Good morning, Mr. Black!” She greeted the man, inviting him in. Clover bowed respectfully from her position beside the counter, albeit she still forgot something important. “Clover, smile...” her father reminded her in a whisper, keeping a friendly expression as he looked at their customer. It was then that a petite figure caught both his and his wife's eyes. “Oh, you must be Alana!” Clover’s mother asked, smiling sweetly at her. Upon hearing that name, Clover’s eyes darted to the blonde girl. She’d been informed of the Blacks’ daughter, a girl around her age she was supposed to talk to if the chance ever arose. Now that the time had come, however, she was unsure of how to proceed... She stood there for a moment, tense and motionless like a troubled sculpture. Her father looked at her sideways with expectation.

Balancing character personality (Mundane or Mary Sue)
Clover replied to Averis's topic in RP Discussion
Interesting topic! Generally speaking, my characters (especially my main characters) tend to be normal people. Some might be stronger than others, but none if them is remotedly close to legendary. Characters that had led common or average lives are what I enjoy playing the most because they can develop in any direction as the story is actually roleplayed. It doesn't mean that none of my characters has had any sort of weird past; some of them did, but my main characters usually do not. In any case, I do love it when other people play very special or very powerful characters, as those set the stories and scenes that will help my character's development! It's very cool if other characters easily overpower mine or place mine in very bad situations. In the end, I just want to see what kind of emotions my characters can develop, what kind of emotions they can make me feel, and what kind of emotions they're able to provoke in those that surround them. "When role-playing with others, what character traits, personalities or actions have you found to be interesting and enjoyable to RP with and/or what have you seen just not work or appear too boring to engage your character?" I enjoy playing with many kinds of people and many kinds of characters. If everyone was the same or always had the same traits, now that'd be boring ^^; As for breaking the lore... my only problem would arise if the majority did that. It'd be odd if breaking the norm became the norm. Ironically, that'd make lore followers more special and rare! -
If you ultimately choose K, I would be happy to work with you to help merge the "lore" of the tribe with those characters myself and several others have established for a K' group of our own. They could be the same group; or they could be two halves of a greater K' whole! If my character was accepted in your tribe, I'd do my best to adapt to anything you've planned. I'm just so happy if I can be a part of a true Miqo'te tribe (>A<) Could you tell us a bit about how your tribe works? Also, to L Tribe players: L is the second most voted letter. Are you playing together too? Could you tell us a bit about what you've planned for your tribe?
-
Thank you! I'm looking forward to the game's release so that I can start playing with you all. I'm definitely up for my characters to make friends from any race (albeit my hyur is not the friendliest person around, so I guess my Miqo'te will do the social RP instead *laughs*). As for the Tribe, it seems K is winning so far. It's a nice letter, I need to check the Japanese name creator to see how to pronounce it. (Edit: And done. Her name would sound very similar to her previous one, which makes me glad).

Miqo’te Mating Strategies Explored: a biologist’s point of view
Clover replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in Lore Discussion
This was a very interesting read! I did find it useful. We know we can't apply animal rules to sentient creatures, as it's been stated. However, Miqo'tes still experience emotions and rules that I, as a civilised human being, simply can't comprehend. I believe Miqo'tes are a mix of sentient/civilised and primitive. Since I already know how the former works, reading about that kind of system in its most primitive form does help for me to try to find a middle point. Understanding where their system came from and why it is like that is important to understand the characters and their views. As for my Miqo'te, I was having trouble because I didn't want her to become a mother or to have had any sort of experiences with males so far. I've decided that she views breeding as some sort of society duty, one she'll have to fulfill when her mother tells her to. She's not eager for it because she knows she won't be able to go adventuring much once she has to start raising children, but she'll accept her role because that's what most female Miqo'tes seem to do. I'd never accept such a thing as a human being, but my Miqo'te is obviously not me, and I simply want to understand her better. -
Aah, I forgot to add in the first post that this will be for Balmung server, but Gilgamesh players could do the same as well ^^ Yesss! Having a shared story with many other Miqo'tes sounds so good, especially for people (like myself) who don't really have any friend in this community to plot stories with. I really hope this will work in the end.
-
Well, the success of this tribe will of course depend on how much people are willing to compromise. If no one is willing to switch from their original tribe, then a bigger, united one can't be created (>w<; That'd be a pity, but I'd understand if people don't want to change their characters. In case that happens, I guess I'll either NPC my character's tribe or I'll ask other tribal Seeker players if anyone would want her as a sister *sweatdrops*. PS: Pink hair FTW ♥
-
I hope I'm doing this right. As a continuation of this thread http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=2911 , it's time for people to vote what tribe they'd like the most. The idea is to see which one is preferred by the majority, in order to create a real and united Seeker Tribe. As I stated before, I'll change my character's name to adapt to the winning Tribe. Anyone who wants to belong to it is free to do the same ^^ The more, the merrier!
-
Um, that means that Miqo'tes would set their differences/rivalry aside to form a big alliance. I'm unsure, wouldn't this derail a bit from the lore? I've heard that some Seeker Tribes might look down on any individual who has a relationship with a Keeper; I personally love conflict in RP even if I wasn't planning to take that route myself, but I don't know what everyone thinks. In any case, I'm no Miqo'te expert and I'll adapt to what other players finally decide to do ^^ If people would prefer an IC Miqo'te alliance, then my character will be a part of it as well. Whatever happens, it'll be fun.
-
Such cool characters (*-*) I'm eager to RP with everyone! My Miqo'te, whose name will change soon. Clover with F'yue.
-
Question, would that Linkshell be IC or OOC? I assume it'd be OOC, for I doubt all the Miqo'te tribes are connected to one another (?). In any case, thank you very much for creating it! Before I make a new poll (unless it's been made already and I missed it), let me know if I'm forgetting any of the most popular tribes. They're C, X, W, L, P, K, R. Is it alright? ^^ Even if my main is supposed to be a hyur, I'm excited about this, haha. I need to know how the tribe will work in order to finish my Miqo'te's story.
-
It seems Balmung is being the favourite. I (or anyone else) could make a new poll tomorrow about what tribe would people prefer, so we can see which one might have more members and choose accordingly. So far, tribes people have suggested are C, X, W, L, P, K (once more, please let me know if I missed any). K seems to have quite a lot of members already, from what I've seen... As for representing a whole tribe, of course we could be just a small part of it. I don't even know the differences between each tribe to begin with, haha. But yes, since tribes can be divided in groups, we won't represent the whole thing, so we'll have plenty of freedom ^^ (Spanish timezone forces me to sleep now. If anyone else would like to be making the poll, please go ahead!)
-
Okay, poll done! Phew, that was difficult *laughs*. Let's choose the server first, then later on we can choose a Seeker tribe among the ones people prefer. C, X, W, L, P, so far (if I'm missing anyone, please let me know!) My character is initially from F, but I don't mind changing her name, soooo... unless anyone else wants F, I won't add it to the future poll.
