  1. K'mih wasted no time after her conversation with K'ailia. Her trial was a few suns ahead, but she still felt in a hurry to make sure that every piece was correctly placed. Bells felt like seconds when your time at home was subdued to a countdown. And so she ran, as fast as she could, asking her fellow Miqo'tes about the location of a certain Tia. He was a very unusual person for her to talk to; a solitary boy, one who'd never participated in any hide and seek game. She didn't know him much, she'd never trained or played with him, but there was something she was aware of. "...!" She stopped abruptly right outside the encampment, where shadows grew darker and bigger, on time to witness the dangerous dance of arrows. The shocked Miqo'te remained silent for a moment, unseen and wide eyed; she didn't remember having seen K'nahli do something as perilous when she trained with her bow! A few seconds later, the Tia was attempting to repeat his little game. "Kiht..." K'mih's Young voice tried to interrupt him, to hopefully make him aware of her presence before the arrows would be set free again.
  2. (Oh... so that's how it was...) K'mih's eyes grew wider at her sister's story. That'd been such an unfortunate accident! She took her advice to heart and decided that she'd ask her mother to weave a mask for her, no matter how odd she'd look among the other huntresses. A thankful nod to her sister proved that she'd do as she suggested. "I-I'm not good with bows either," she commented, smiling slightly as her eyes rose to the night sky. "Even if K'nahli has tried to teach me on several occasions, I'm still so..." The image of K'nahli's back -bow tensed and expression hidden- interrupted her words, her previous thoughts. Smile fading, K'mih's unblinking eyes fell to the horizon for a few seconds. She shouldn't fail the hunt, not when K'nahli seemed to believe in her, but the possibility couldn't be ignored. "..." There was a moment of thoughtful silence. Then... "I think you'll enjoy the Conjurer's Guild," she finally said, smiling as she stood up to jump down the rock. "When you return, you must have become a great shaman!" It was reassuring to know that at least K'ailia would be alright.
  3. K'mih's eyes opened a bit more at her sister's words. So she just had to spend a while away from home, learning something, and then she could return? What was more, her mother would come with her as well so that she wouldn't be alone. Hearing that felt reassuring, somehow. It was still something K'mih would rather avoid, but at least it no longer sounded like an impossible or unbearable task. "Ah..." She tensed at the mention of her trial. With a nervous little smile, her gaze fell to her own legs, fingers entangling with each other. A nod was her first answer. "In seven suns......" A pause. "I'm a bit nervous..."
  4. The sky had darkened when K'mih finally found the person she'd been looking for. It hadn't been an easy task; K'ailia tended to be found in the most unthinkable places, always climbing whatever she could find. Even now, K'mih almost missed her petite figure over the boulder. "......" With her target located, The pink haired Miqo'te clambered the huge rock up until she could sit right beside her half-sister. The air was filled with melancholic nostalgia. It wouldn't be the first time that the two of them would sit down together to observe the Sagoli desert from a high place, but it sure felt like the last. "K'ailia..." K'mih's eyes were akin to an apology when they looked at her, her voice soft, even shy. She didn't want to make her sister any sadder, but she really needed to talk to her about the matter. "Where will you go...?" ((OOC: Any other member of the Hipparion Tribe is free to join! ^^))
  5. Welcome to the community! I hope you'll have fun RPing in this game ^^ I tried RPing in GW2 back in the day, but sadly I was limited to the Spanish community, which wasn't too big. It was still a good game, though! As for the official unofficial RP server... it's a bit complicated, I guess. I mean, the choice was clear for me, especially now, but it's become a touchy subject. It depends on what you're looking for. An already established RP community where the vast majority of RPers (both veterans and new players) will participate? Or would you rather start in a fresh server with no veteran players, so that you can help to build a new RP community?
  6. Something to lose. K’mih understood that feeling very well. Failing the hunt would likely entail abandoning the life she’d known up until now. She’d be separated from her sister, from her family. There was too much to lose for a young Miqo’te like her. Bicoloured eyes kept observing K’nahli’s movements, waiting, needing something, anything that might ease a slice of her distress. It finally happened when the archer spoke next— simple words they were, yet so powerful. (‘You’re a good warrior, K’mih’). It was odd. The young Miqo’te had been too scared of herself; she’d spent day and night doubting her own capacities, wondering if she could succeed this. She’d only needed those words from her sister in order to feel that she was truly ready. As ready as she could be, at least. K’mih smiled with relief, albeit briefly, for her expression turned into curiosity when her sister approached her with a gift. It was the head of a broken arrow, something that, in the pink haired girl’s mind, represented her older sister’s strength. She stared at it wide eyed for a few seconds, until her gaze rose to K’nahli with another smile, nervous and still genuine. “Thank you, K’nahli!” She said, more cheerfully than how she spoke a moment ago. “I won’t disappoint you!” If K’nahli believed in her, there was no way she could lose. There was no way. Every other Miqo'te she'd been living with had gone through this, she couldn't be the one left behind. And yet, another voice in her mind needed to remind her that her other sister, K’ailia, had recently failed the hunt and would take her leave soon…
  7. With open eyes and parted lips, K’mih observed her sister’s movements with the bow—her precision, her concentration. Her perfection. K’nahli had always been amazing. Everything she did was amazing. So much that K’mih felt a pang of surprise –and anxiety- to hear that her older sister had feared that day as much as she did. “But... K’nahli, you’re very skilled with the bow…” The young Miqo’te said, not raising her voice much in order not to disrupt her sister’s exercise. Concern was, once more, heavily imprinted on her tone. “Didn’t you… believe that you could do it?”
  8. //OOC: Obligatory apology about my English. Please, bear with me as I learn ;_; “K’nahli…” Beautiful shades of red coloured the sky that afternoon, an afternoon like any other to most. Not in the young Miqo’te’s heart, however. K’mih approached her sister, fingers crossed behind her back and eyes bathed in concern; she couldn't quite hide it behind a shy, almost apologetic smile. Disguising her emotions had never been her forte; that something was worrying her was more than evident, especially to the girl who’d spent an entire life with her. Even before K'mih spoke, K’nahli should have figured out the root of her younger sister's worries. “K'nahli..." She said her name again, eyes traveling to a ground that had no comfort to offer. "When you had to go through your Trial… Did your stomach hurt...?" Now that the young Miqo'te had spent 16 years in this world, her Trial of Adulthood had become an unavoidable reality. She'd have to face it in a matter of seven suns, and sleeping at night was getting harder as time passed.
  9. Aah, so cute. I love fairies. I don't think I'll be playing any scholar, but I'll be glad to see other people's pets! Question, can FF fairies speak common language?
  10. Clover has been working on her grandpa's magic shop in Limsa Lominsa for the past 5 years. The shop sells many curiosities, so you don't even need to be a mage in order to have visited it. This isn't a real connection per se, more like "we might know each other"?
  11. *cough* *cough* Y-you're a cruel, cruel person... (._.) ... Anyway, welcome to the Tribe!
  12. Haha, I had to change my Miqo'te's original name just to fit with the K letter. I was more than willing because I'd always wanted to RP my Miqo'te in a real family. If you finally decide to join the Tribe, or if you need more info about it, don't hesitate to let us know! ^^
  13. Clover

    Hiya!

Welcome, and nice to meet you! Doing quests and dungeons in character has always sounded really wonderful. I haven't been able to do that in any game because my partner always said it was confusing, but I'm hoping to try it in FFXIV. I hope you have a lot of fun here ^^
  14. Welcome! I hope you have a lot of fun here. I don't tend to find "bishounen" characters in Western communities, so I applaud your choice >///< By the way, are you going to play a Tribal Miqo'te? Just in case you're unaware of it and you'd like to participate, some players have gathered together to create a real Miqo'te Tribe based on the K letter. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hipparion_Tribe
  15. Thank you very much! ;w; I hope more people will lalaify their characters if the hairstyles are available. I've realized how much I need a lalafell in my life. I'll make one when the new hairstyles are released.
  16. Hahaha! I've tried to lalaify my two characters and died from cuteness.
  17. Welcome! I hope you have tons of fun here ^^ I share what you say about not wanting to play games that lack RP communities. RP truly makes any game a million times more interesting, in my opinion!
  18. I don't mind at all. I think this was only made to promote the new FFXIII Lightning Returns, which I don't care for. At least they're bothering to find an excuse that would make it work with the lore. No-- even if they didn't bother with excuses and treated it as the promotion material it actually is, I wouldn't give it much of a thought, nor would it affect my RP in any way. People tend to love ooc costumes in games, so it's all good if they're released. Other than that, I don't play or follow FF games, so I'm not interested in those. I'm glad for the fans of those characters, though; I imagine it might be exciting?
  19. Haha, three characters might be killing, indeed. That's why I wouldn't start RPing him anytime soon (as much as I'd like to!). His story is still a bit vague. I just know who I want him to be and what I want him to do, somehow. Or let's rather say, what kind of story I'd like him to have with other characters, which is ultimately what I seek when I RP-- action and reaction. He won't be any sort of powerful villain, but that doesn't make him any less of a cruel person. The hugest damage can be the most subtle, after all.
  20. I've had this Black Mage in mind for a while. I might eventually RP him if I find any other character that could suit his story.
  21. We the K Tribe play with the fact that, as stated officially unless I'm mistaken, every tribe might have different habits and views. For example, it seems some of them are more permissive with their members having close relationships with Keepers, while others might forbid it. Since each big tribe has tons of subtribes, we have plenty of room to play one of them and decide our own rules, which we've tried to stick to the lore whenever it was possible. As a lore follower, I must say I'm very proud of how this tribe is turning out (*-*) But I digress. What I want to say is that, as you well stated, no tribe is more correct than the other, since the lore itself allows for tribes to differ on some matters. The lore simply gives us some basic concepts that are common to all: naming system, mating system, where we came from. I fail so much (especially in English discussions) and haven't quite understood your idea, so please forgive me if I got it completely wrong. You mean that, initially, your Miqo'te has no idea of the existence of Miqo'te tribes, which are actually his roots. He might come in contact with them as the story develops, receiving a cultural shock (?) If that's the case, you can count on my Miqo'te character! I'm certain that she'd be interested in any "lost" Miqo'te; she might even try to convince your character to embrace his "true nature" (as she'd call it). If I got it wrong, I apologize *sweatdrops*. Just a side note, there are many non-tribal Miqo'tes around the world, so your character wouldn't be alone in his non tribal-ness (sorry for making words up).
  22. Go with what you prefer. Others are going to give your character a deep, critical evaluation for all of two seconds, and probably won't even notice a difference between a shade or two of skin-tone. It's 99% likely that if the skin-tone is going to bug anyone, it's you, the primary player who is playing the character for hours on end, so go with what you like. Aah, thank you! I actually... don't know which one I prefer, as I like both for different reasons. I've spent the past two days thinking non stop about it; my head's exploding *laughs*.
  23. I literally spent yesterday's whole afternoon (and part of today's) playing with the character creator, until I felt sick. Since the majority of people I've asked told me they like this skintone better, I guess K'mih will keep it... Though, I kinda wanted her to be a bit tanned... Clover (my main) hasn't changed at all from the beta, but I took a screen of her out of nostalgia. And this is a black mage I'd like to RP someday...
  24. When Alana talked about her chocobo, Clover managed to return her glance—or what was almost a glance. Even if she was still unused to the farmer’s accent, the initial awkward feeling of spending time with a stranger had diminished slightly. Perhaps it was due to her interest in hearing those stories; Clover had never owned any chocobo, and albeit she had visited a few farms in the past, that kind of life differed significantly from her own. Alana was a bunch of different experiences, from the way she hung from trees to her coexistence with different creatures. At the girl’s latest question, more like an invitation, Clover turned her eyes to the fluffy animal which definitely had been enjoying the petting. A slight nod was the first indication that she’d move closer, and so she did. Slowly, a hand travelled to the bird’s beak until a soft stroke was born from her fingers, much to the animal’s delight. “I’ve never had a chocobo of my own...” she commented with an inexpressive tone, merely for the sake of comparing their experiences. Her eyes were glued to the happy animal she was petting. “Ah, I heard... that one of the chocobos would give birth soon, but…” “The farmer said that one of his chocobos will give birth in a few days!” Two kids had approached them, excitement colouring their eyes and voices. “Alana should come to see it! Please come!”
