Thanks for posting this I love it when companies release character creators early, so I can spend dayyyyys making my character pretty without feeling guilty that I'm wasting playtime.

Oh oh I just saw this and I love your style! I'd love it if you could fit Maeve into the list. I have all my appearance info on my wiki page (in my sig) and it includes some character reference images too. I see you have quite the list to do so I understand if you never get up to it, I just think its so nice of you to offer this in the first place.

Maeve has been influenced by some characters, just bits taken from here and there really. They are: Her positive personality traits and also her willingness to sacrifice and make those tough decisions - Moiraine Damodred from Wheel of Time Her darker side - Morgan (Eva Green) from Camelot and a mixture of things from my most beloved actress Lara Pulver, when she portrays Isabella Thorton in the BBC's Robin Hood:

I'm glad you posted this because I admit I've been a bit confused about this as well. I don't understand why Linkshells (which I too assume are like chat channels) appear more popular and there is a link to them on the navigation menu yet there is very limited mention of free companies. I'd want to join a more traditional 'guild' rather than a chat channel. >.<

Glad you like my little highlander! To be fair they are a bit butch compared to midlanders or the cat people (yeah, the weird Miq-- name hasn't stuck with me yet) which is very unlike me, but their faces are much better imho so thats why I went with her. When you say you will play around in the CC for a wee bit, just er, dont do what I did and spend a full 2 days in it . Its addictive.

For my highlander I think she will be around the 65-70 mark. I'm only 5'5 in real life and always wished I was a bit taller Its freaky when I meet males that are much shorter though, I can't take them seriously as I figure they probably have short man syndrome.

went on a holiday recently so here are some snaps from that:

First of all, you better stop calling yourself old as I'm exactly the same age and that means I'd need to start calling myself old woman! :dodgy: lol In anyway case welcome and I hope to see you around Balmung

I. Basic Info Characters:Maeve Raventhorn Primary character:Maeve, no plan on alts. Linkshells:None atm Primary RP linkshell:None atm. II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): It really depends on what guild I end up joining. I have had some really good immersive experiences in the past in a heavy type of rp guild where no ooc was allowed. However, lately in other games since I haven't been able to find that I have been more of a medium type roleplayer. Still keeping /say IC but also taking time to hang out with with friends and just grouping up to do dungeons oocly etc. Views on RP combat and injuries: My best experiences with RP combat have been with a GM type person overseeing the whole thing. This way it ensures that it is fair and the moves being pulled are valid etc. I prefer just to rp my actions out with the use of ingame combat or dice, because I like to believe that most people are mature enough to take into consideration their IC combat experience and have both strengths and weaknesses. To me the best rp experiences I've had is when my character got injured or lost a fight as this had more opportunities for character growth and development. Views on IC romance: I haven't had a rp romance in a very, very long time. I don't mind them if people can separate IC from OOC but too often with friends I have seen that line blurred and feelings get hurt. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I like this type of rp and believe it adds depth to a character and presents more rp opportunities. No just family ties, but perhaps past business relationships, an old enemy, someone from the characters childhood etc. Once I put up a character profile and anyone is interested in having a connection with my character please send me a message as I'd love to hear any ideas you may have. Views on lore: I believe everyone has a right to rp how they like, whether in line with the lore or not. HOWEVER, I have a choice whether I rp with such people or not. I really try to be consistent with the lore in any game I play, however, FF is new to me so I hope that if I ever do make a mistake someone will inform me. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): IC for /say, /emotes and can go either way for /linkshell or /whisper. One thing that gets me is when RPers need to explain all their IC actions to me in a private OOC whisper. Relax, I trust you (untill you give me a reason to doubt you) and really it is more interesting if I don't know. I like to find things out in rp and there is nothing better than a well roleplayed twist or surprise that I didn't see coming. In addition, when I am rping with a person one on one (or even a small group of up to 3-4) I prefer paragraph rp. To me it adds much more depth to the rp or not just hearing the characters response but witnessing the small details such as character mannerisms, the inflection of their words, face expressions etc. Nevertheless, I have learnt to adapt to large group rp (which I will openly admit is not my favorite) and will respond in short sentences to keep the rp flowing. Hi everyone! I've come to Final Fantasy after the encouragement of some people on the Wildstar forums and luckily enough got into the most recent beta so I had the opportunity to give it a try. This being my first FF game it has taken a bit getting use to and I very much feel out of the loop in lore yet the game itself appears fun, I'm excited to hear you can sit on chairs (sad, I know) not to mention the fact that there is housing! I've been a roleplayer for more than a decade (I'm 28 for all those curious folks) so I am not new to that part, just the FF specific setting so I'm going to have to work hard on my character concept in the coming weeks. At the moment I'm leaning towards a highlander as they are the most 'womanly', as opposed to young teenage girl looking, of all races. Well apart from those big orc like things.... Roe something? as you can see I really have a lot to learn lol In any case, I'm glad to be here and look forward to playing with you all. P.S - Yes, I'm Aussie as the title of this thread suggests. That is why Im leaning towards making a character on the Balmung server as I need a server that will be active during Oceanic periods, and more ppl = more chance of that.
