I think you've confused several arguments for another thread. The only real thing to talk about here is about what the moderation policies do, which is simply outline that, effectively, someone can't just be an ass to someone. Passively or agressively. This isn't an automatic moderation thing, as in the end it's up to the mods to make a verdict on any post that is reported. As for your whole point on triggers. Not - really sure at all where you're coming from here. Because there's a huge difference between trying to censor conversation, and not wanting people who have yet to recover from scarred events to feel like utter garbage. Because, you know, that's also part of the whole 'don't be a dick' in the rules.

Ignoring a lot of the bullhonkery going on in the thread, I will put in on my two cents, as this is actually a really old article. This was going around maybe two years ago. And at first I was on the side of "No" until I spent more time to really digest it and process it. Because my immediate thought was to go "but we have gary stu's..." But the fact is - no one actually ever -uses- Gary Stu. It's Mary Sue. And it's been that way since the term first came around, which was used to put down a lot of early/younger fanfiction writers, much who were predominately female. So. I don't know? I've mixed feelings ultimately about it. At best I think it's a microagression more than a more typical sexism. It's just something we've all come to accept as ~part of our culture~, despite the fact it's just kind of problematic by itself. It's just an outdated relic of an era where webrings were still the best way to get into fandom. To be honest I've kind of grown away from even using the term, because it's just kind of spiteful by itself and mean hearted. Roleplay and write what interests you.

Discreetly, I avoid the issue entirely by playing an older character. Years tend to blend together and become meaningless in comparison to how a younger character might develop from it. But to be consistent I'd use IRL years unless an expansion is a time skip forward more than a few years. But past experience with previous MMO's ( WoW, ) has made me prefer the iRL approach. I mean come on Blizz please sort out your timeline, we're lost and confused.

Honestly, I don't think it would be too much of a stretch for there to be imitations of the Warrior's set. Especially in a post 2.0 canon. A Warrior of Light using it is more than enough reason for crafters to have put together their own spin on the armour, with varying degrees of success. It's also possible that there are in fact other warriors out there. I remember reading somewhere that there is in fact still Warriors about, but they just have isolationist tendencies.
