  1. This will be W'kailia Khai's looks: http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i83/Grand-Dragon/Kailia-Kitty_zps82ac4ae0.png[/img]
  2. Well, there's always less than reputable crews who'd be willing to transport "live cargo" for a reasonable sum... There's a lot of other possibilities as well, including stowing away on a ship, befriending someone who'd take you there (perhaps a wandering Conjurer saw in her a gift, and decided to take her along?), or connecting to a group that'd fund the trip (I have some ideas on that related to an LS/FC concept I have). Maybe she went with a tia who traveled there to create a new tribe, to secure hunting grounds and become a nunh within those grounds, or to gain experience and strength to eventually become nunh. Perhaps that whole part of the tribe moved for some reason? It's also possible she made it there after the Calamity 5 years ago as part of a group of refugees from the devastation. There's also more mystical options, such as seemingly random manifestations of Aether (she touched an Aetheryte and was suddenly teleported to Gridania, mysteriously) or powerful magic (she got caught up in Louisoix's time warp). I have to say the befriending someone who'd take her there sounds pretty good. But so does the stowing away part. She's not going to be the mating type, kinda like an oddball of the clan. She prefers learning about her surroundings over following tribe nature.
  3. Immediately around Limsa Lominsa, there's a variety of small port towns, farming villages, dodo farms, and even a "fleet" of windmills on a coastal cliff that grind grains for the city's bakers. A number of these are populated by ex-pirates, some of whom are less keen on work than others. Most of the "civilized areas" of La Noscea are plains with rolling hills, but orchards do exist. You don't typically run into any significant forest until you get relatively far from the city (in Upper and Outer La Noscea). I'm sorry I don't recall any actual names of places (I rely on in-game maps for that ), but of course, you can always come up with a village of your own as the world is certainly larger than what we see in game. For instance, my Seeker comes from a small and relatively poor coastal village where most of the commerce is fishing and limited tree felling and woodworking. It's something I envision being near the drydocks outside the city proper, as they'd have a need for both food and wood. One of the farming villages sounds good. When the open beta starts, I will make her, but I will need to also make a character that would start in that major city. She definitely would come from humble beginnings. Maybe her love of nature is what prompted her to become a Conjurer, and saved up travel gil to visit Gridania to learn from the Conjurer's Guild there?
  4. Thanks for that information, it helps Well I know for my Seeker, she does enjoy nature and even green areas, including forests. Anywhere with trees and green grass, and farms. And googling images of La Nocsea, it looks to fit what I'd picture her being from. It definitely helps knowing that. I only got in on phase 3, so didn't have a chance to see any other area outside The Black Shroud. What are some villages/towns of La Nocsea?
  5. Hi guys. I like to try an plan out every bit of my characters, right down to how old they are. But I been searching and haven't found any actual charts yet. So figure why not ask here. Question 1: How long do Miqo'te live, like when does a child Miqo'te be considered an adult or even when an adult is considered and elder? Question 2: Where would a Miqo'te be born and raised, namely where would a seeker of the sun been born and raised? Question 3: What is their society like? I know they enjoy the sunlight and would most likely have basic human sleep cycles. I am more refering to their culture itself. Is there any references I can look to?
  6. Took a bit to understand the naming convention of the Seekers of the Sun. My main character's name since I created her in Lord of the Rings Online, and subsequently recreated in World of Warcraft, was Kailia Sweetleaf. Well I found a little name generator: http://fandango.exp.jp/name-generator.php and used it to come up with the father's name. And since in World of Warcraft and even Lord of the Rings Online, she's always been associated with the Wolf, I've converted the name to: W'kailia Khai Wahkailia Khai Kailia of the Wolf, sired by W'Khai Nunh So yay thanks for those links! It's helped evolve my character's name
  7. Well I've played Final Fantasy's in the past. Got the original NES one, loved FF6. FF7 was confusing to me quite often. FF8 was one of my favorites of all time. FF9 was pretty fun. FFX and X-2 became my favorites for PS2, followed by XII. Never tried XI. So given Square's history with story telling, and my experiences thus far in beta, I definitely feel a really high feeling that I've finally found my niche.
  8. Hi, I am new to these forums, but not new to RP. I've RPed in Starcraft, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, and even tried to RP in Star Wars: The Old Republic and Everquest 2. Long story short, World of Warcraft has shown me Blizzard has gone so far down hill and corrupt, that I've uninstalled all Blizzard Products. Lord of the Rings Online I've run into a few drama queens which caused me to quit a few times, and when I tried to return to it recently I found they had banned me from their official forums for no reason. Literally. When I disputed it and sent 2 emails they finally got back to me 2 weeks later that they could find no reason at all why I was permanently banned from their forum for 2 years and lifted the ban. The quality of that game has also degraded since I last played so I decided not to return to it. Tried Everquest 2, while it has a somewhat decent RP community, the games graphics are horrible and buggy. And SWTOR is lacking in an RP community altogether. Even the RP guild I joined hardly RPed. So when a friend mentioned FFXIV: ARR and that it was in beta, I looked it up, liked what I saw, and signed up for the beta. Got in on Phase 3 and I have to say, I think I finally found a new home. It has everything I want. Great graphics, fantastic story, the company that made it admitted their mistakes and worked towards correcting it, and the RP community actually is more organized than SWTOR. So here I am! This game I have good feelings about. And I've definitely got some good vibes from this community so far. So then when Phase 4 starts, I got a decision to make! If there's an RP server or 2, I will have to communicate with my friends and see which one we want to roll on. It will be good getting back into MMO's. I level slowly, and I prefer making things about the journey and not rushing to end game And if anyone is curious what my main will be, it will be a young Conjurer named Kailia Sweetleaf. I will attach a pic of her for you guys
