What's something nobody expects your character to be/do?
K'nahli replied to Unnamed Mercenary's topic in Fun Prompts
K'nahli is in love with her sister, K'mih. Nah, but really the only thing that comes to mind is that she has a very, innocent love for rolanberries which are quite rare to come across in the desert. The seldom time she has participated in trades to Ul'dah has she managed to secure a few. She likes to keep it a bit of a secret though. If anyone asked her then she'd underplay her interest in them a bit out of embarrassment. Guess it could also be said that Andre has a few written letters addressed to his father that he never delivered but has been holding on to just in case he has a change of heart. -
The towering inferno consumed K'nahli's fiery eyes and blasted her face with a sweltering wave of heat that rekindled much of the receding day's, draining warmth. The weak breeze which rolled across the rocky lands that evening failed to hinder the fire's growth, allowing the light, black smoke to plume almost directly upwards until it slowly dissipated into the stronger winds some distance above. She could feel her gaze tilting upward as she stared deep into the heart of the flames. Her maroon eyes were glazed over with a trembling veil of amber as they remained fixated upon the flames, their unmoving watch, in truth, seeking nothing... though the flames would still gift her with flickering images that mimicked distant memories - some of which bore relevance to the present and others which did not. A tingling trance of melancholy descended upon the girl as slowly as the occasional flake of dried ash which danced before her vision for the short while she allowed herself to play audience to those once-lived tales which had been curiously drawn before her, though soon enough she found her eyes peering far past those images as she wilfully suppressed nostalgic thoughts with less afflicting ones; her new home being the prime winner. As the seconds continued to pass, the bonfire reached higher into the darkening sky. The golden flames which formed into the apex of the flaming beast seemed to lick at the base of the newly-forming stars which shyly began to reveal themselves in the darker portion of the evening air directly above them; appearing as distant beings whose arrival was solely to behold the unfolding spectacle far below them, with their gently, lifting intensity revealing a perceivably growing interest as the ritual proceeded onward in pace with the rising flames. The thick scent of burning wood filled her nose and offered her a mild sense of placidity for a short while, as the flames hummed melodically in tone with the crackling of the wood which snapped and splintered under the fire's indomitable intensity. At that distance, it consumed most other scents but still did not overpower her senses enough that it would push beyond smelling pleasant. The girl breathed in deeply, allowing the sedating scents, sounds and the comforting warmth to embrace her wholly as she continued trying to pay heed to the few of the elders' words that seemed to be reaching her ears.

Alone, but not isolated, K'nahli stood amidst the other hunters and huntresses as each watched the elders speak with an eager anticipation. The maroon-eyed girl looked no different to any of the other miqo'te there - save for perhaps her expression which remained stoic and untelling toward her inner thoughts. She should be excited by such a monumental occasion; that much she knew, but even after having convinced herself that she was better, "fine" even, she couldn't bring herself to even emulate such a feeling. As that thought crossed her mind, the girl could feel her eyes instinctively, edging sidewards in search of something, only to have them quickly drawn forward once more as she defiantly fought against that urge. Though it was hard to distance herself from the insistent yet unconsciously formulated knowledge of where K'mih was at any given moment, she failed to notice her departure upon K'ile's request and continued to assume that she lingered somewhere nearby, not that she would have been served any comfort from knowing the fact. And so the girl continued to quietly stand and wait, her thoughts no less than completely scattered with embers of a dimming hope - the now, seemingly, naively-conceived idea that perhaps the upcoming ritual would finally steal her from useless thoughts, and more.

Without the intention to offend or point fingers but... your posts are the only ones that have felt even mildly aggressive to me since the last outburst some pages back involving other people. No-one is really disagreeing with your upset as much as they're saying: "Okay, look... its not THAT big of a deal". ('you' meaning your side from this point on) At the end of the day, this was going to happen one way or another. Yoshi simply could have saved himself some backfire if he thought to mention it but, well, he didn't. Everything you're looking for will be coming along at some point. Your real concerns should be the lack of space even with the implementation of new wards, not getting angry at Yoshi for something he is trying to find a way around. No-one here is blindly defending Yoshi... what good would that do anyone? It's simply a matter of us saying that you should aim your anger and upset at the actual problem as opposed to finding the nearest person to point your finger at and blaming everything on him as though he were able to fix everything but, you know, simply chose not to. He didn't lie, that's skewing the truth to make it sound worse than it really is. Having said that, he wasn't as open as people were expecting/hoping for him to be; if you want to believe that he did that consciously then fine, you're entitled to think like that, but no-one is in any position to accuse him of lying, just as I am in no position to testify to his innocence and say that there is no way that he knew what was going on and could never do such a thing. I just believe that he didn't because it would have been completely unnecessary. To me, its logical to assume that he didn't deliberately hide anything.

(This was clarified for me by Warren but I'll leave it here since it expresses a point nonetheless. Sorry for the confusion) Was this directed towards me? I made my post at work so I had to rush it a little and if I came off a certain way(negatively, that is) then that was not my intent. I am not trying to deny anyone's right to be angry or voice their complaints. My only stance on it is that I disagree with how many people are treating it as though Yoshi knew exactly what he was doing and what was going to happen when in reality that makes no sense at all. Again, he could have handled it better, but everything is always clearer in hindsight and I have yet to hear a compelling argument that can even make me consider the idea that he was trying to pull a fast one on us. It's not necessarily unreasonable, but that would certainly make him stupid. Anyone can look at the trend in MMOs today and see that personal housing is extremely important to the playerbase. I didn't mean on a permanent basis but to assume that going the route he did was perfectly fine as a starting point because, despite what some people say, I think he had an extremely valid point. Regardless of how anyone feels about empty FCs, that's just (clearly much-needed) server space going to a complete waste. Lets not forget that we're a community all socialising with one another, sharing ideas and anticipations about upcoming content that can easily be read into as fact over lengthy periods of time like the one we had leading up to it's implementation... all because a certain aspect wasn't detailed or mentioned previously, whether Yoshi neglected to think of it or simply overlooked it as something that required addressing. I can only speculate of course but the malicious, conspiracy theories(as they almost sound) are just completely unfounded in my opinion. I really like Yoshi and I want to believe that he would "do no wrong", but that doesn't mean that I will make excuses for him or blindly defend him either. I am only doing so because it seems the only reasonable route to me. I know I might receive flak for this and might get mocked in a sense, but it's the wording that is throwing me a little bit. There is a big difference between "feeling" that you have been lied to and genuinely having being lied to. I know Yoshi won't ever read this but I think it's only courtesy to not accuse anyone of anything without true merit; it's very unfair to the man in my opinion.

Is it unreasonable to believe that Yoshi didn't realise that a non-unique housing ward for personal homes was that big of a deal? Throw aside the limitations for a second because that is a redundant argument. Yes it sucks that more people can't get homes even in the near future, but its not like any credible company that wasn't run by completely, incompetent apes would deliver lackluster content, outright lie and break promises if they could help it. People are upset. Fine, you have every right to be, but using strong and repetitive words to instill the idea that Yoshi is being sleazy and sneaky about everything sounds like you're just trying to validate your anger even more by getting more people on your side. Should he have announced it sooner? Of course. But I will run with the idea that he simply underestimated the backlash it would cause, if any, because he had nothing to gain from hiding it if he genuinely thought that it would cause great anger amongst the player base. Even still, he's just a man whom is capable of mistakes. There is a lot the company have to try and deliver that stretch far beyond "mere" housing and sometimes things change and he cannot anticipate everything, including players' reactions/feelings.

You just ruined my mood...! Edit: By the way, I found this guy a few days ago who was clearly too excited about the upcoming festivities and, as a result, could not contain himself.

Hahahaha, I'm glad it wasn't too much of a nuisance then ^^ Here's another crude edit of a screenshot that I though looked dangerously... well, yes. I felt compelled to upload it given the reaction to the hugs from screenshots previous with K'mih(her SISTER, for the Twelve's sake).

Hahahahahaha >w< ;;;;

Completely! Its fun when you can make something at least a bit better(that's my minimalistic goal at least) than vanilla so that you can share it with others >3< Very nice screenshot though! You cannot go wrong with chocobo screens, haha ~ Also, congratulations on getting your mount!

I met Erik today! ....and made a complete fool of myself asking him for such a stupid request when he was clearly placing himself for potential RP... *sigh* If you happen to read this then I am really sorry once again, but I do like your character for some odd reason(and Warrens! ....and Coatleque's..... and Otovann's, but for a COMPLETELY different reason..) I still have a Sultansworn one I'd like to edit but I don't feel like it today, as petty as the changes are, haha. Edit: And Dogberry.

Customize a limit break only YOUR character could do

I nearly spit up my drink because I read that as Clover(as in Clover Blake, the character in the screenshot in the spoiler). -
Customize a limit break only YOUR character could do

Level 1 - Hellfire (I don't know) K'nahli charges toward the enemy while unleashing several, quickly-shot arrows. Upon reaching close-proximity, she slides beneath the foe's legs to evade a naturally-responded melee attempt and closes with a powerful shot consisting of numerous arrows, aimed directly at the enemy's exposed back. For small, humanoid enemies, or other cases where this is anatomically impossible, K'nahli would launch herself over their head with a clean somersault and then conclude with the same back-shot. (If there are any really tall enemies that still can't be slid under then she... can tumble to the side and do a flank shot I guess). --------------------------------------------- Level 2 - Takedown (I don't know) K'nahli fires two arrows that impale the victim by the feet/lower shins to the floor and delivers a third shot to the upperbody that causes them to begin to fall over backward. From there, K'nahli quickly charges forward and launches herself onto the victim feet-first, slamming them into the ground where she concludes with a powerful shot aimed at their neck before withdrawing with a jump/backward somersault. On large or anatomically incorrect foes she would fire a flurry of shots that would cause a partial knockback - enough to gift her with an angle to land upon - and resume from there. For airborne foes she would resemble the above tactic but instead swing herself around to the back of it's neck after launching herself, and resume from there. --------------------------------------------- Level 3 - Daddy's Girl (I don't know) (Requires K'nahli to sustain at least one hit(melee included) before initiating). K'nahli is knocked backward into tumble/slide as a result of being hit. From there the enemy would have entered a sequence where it stops moving for a moment and simply observes. Gripping her arm as though wounded while still sitting on the ground, K'nahli should make some call that is typically seen from boss-raid dialogue that causes her father, K'yohko, to enter the scene and assist her with what is to come. From there they can both join to together to perform some more over-the-top archer and lancer moves that figuratively destroy the boss. Upon finishing, K'yohko could just throw in the old: "I must go, my people need me" dialogue before departing in.... I suppose an asian, gravity-defying styled leap. I'll let the rest of you decide at what point I became lazy with this. -
Ahhh.... but of course you have a whole party rolling on it..! I completely forgot that aspect and was thinking: "So you just need five coil/ST runs?" That makes sense then. Thank you!
-
I saw you yesterday and today in the quicksand and immediately thought: "That's the seductive, dungeon-running Highlander!" Not the most impressive or imaginative terms to have coined you with but its what came to mind... (While I'm on that subject, I also saw Dogberry and Coatleque!(I'm sorry if I misspelled)).

Pretty much this! I'm not even sure about the rest of the patch because it concerns things I am not even sure about (sands of time... upgrade.... i100?) but I had fun today simply with the emotes! Sands upgrade any Weathered soldiery piece of gear on the left side of your equipment screen, and oils do the right. This even includes weapons/shields! Sorry, Clover must have told me this fifty times and I just keep spacing it. Thank you for explaining that to me. Might I ask how many of each does it take to upgrade and if there are any other requirements/catches?

I'd like to see that if possible. I need to save my character's first hug for K'mih, haha >w< ;;; Then again, she might want her first hug to be for Curious G(e)orge.
