  1. Yup, I got ya. Found you in the online list.
  2. I sent everyone on the list and the others that recently posted. I couldn't find you ArmachiA?
  3. After that last "job" you decide to lay low in Limsa-Lominsa. No one would assume to look for you here, especially when the guards are more likely to keep their eyes on the well-known pirates that frequent this port city. Besides, you heard whispers of a mysterious group that has docked here. You think that maybe you can find some new "opportunities". Providing you can find out who they are. But first you want to head to the market area. After that last encounter you need to replenish some supplies and maybe see about getting your weapon repaired. You look around and try to get your bearings. There are a few people walking about and the city seems quite alive. You can hear the sea all around you and the air seems crisp. You rub your hands together, ready for some interesting activities today. Baltazar's Favor is a mature, close-knit role-playing guild that strives to enjoy and explore all the aspects of Final Fantasy XIV and above all promote friendship, humility and respect to each other. Language: English Primary Time Zone: NA & EU Server: TBD Leaders: Kashemia(Seraj) - Iroh(Dal) - Averis(Azia) Website: http://baltazarsfavor.mmoguildsites.com Game-play Style: Casual / Moderate (real life comes first) Role-play Style: Moderate / Heavy Guild Chat: OOC IC Headquarters: The good ship Baltazarâs Favor, usually docked at Limsa Lominsa. IC Element: Mainly using blackmail to employ shady characters to do good deeds, but there are many ways one can find themselves working for Baltazar's Favor. Cross-Guild Interaction: Very open to other RP guilds. Especially since we'll be small. Age Requirement: 18+ Application Criteria: Closed until launch Rules: Find what we offer and are looking for here: How to join. General Goals: Baltazar's Favor seeks to provide a close-knit atmosphere where everyone who logs on is someone you are happy to see and they are happy to see you. Since we are a guild of friends and like to play with friends, we don't accept open applications. Instead we invite friends that we make as we go to keep our roaster full of intelligent, mature, fun loving, skilled players and role-players. We never want anyone to feel lost in the crowd, or that they're "that Templar we needed to fill out the second party". Every member is a family member. Even though we have guild leaders and officers (if needed), we like to keep things democratic. Everyone should feel and know that they have a say in the guild. The leaders are mainly here to handle the day-to-day business, make sure events are made, etc., and handle conflicts should they arise. We want to avoid OOC drama. While conflicts can happen and are at times unavoidable, we expect our members to handle them in a mature and sensible way that doesn't disrupt others, and show understanding for each other. Though we are a role-play centric guild we also are here to play the game. We absolutely love a good dungeon crawl and advancing our characters like any one else. Roleplay Goals: As a role-play guild we tend to remain in-character most of the time in public channels. (/say for example). We wish to keep our reputation as a role-play guild in the foremost of our public image. We seek to keep a close relationship with other role-play guilds on our server. As a small guild being involved with the role-play community is important. Baltazar's Favor respects the lore of the game. We have no characters from outer space, vampires, gods, robots, demons and etc. We also have no level 5 Highlanders who can "own" the character you've worked on for six months because his character sheet says so. We greatly prefer that characters grow and make a name for themselves through active role-play rather than from a line on your character sheet. The guild's stance is "Role-play through the game, not above the game". Other Information: Guild Chat: In game guild chat will usually be OOC. Since we're all friends, we love to chat together. We do not believe that active OOC communication in any way deters from role-play. Vent: We currently don't have a chat server, but if we do get one it will never be required and preference will never be shown for those that use vent over those who don't. Alts: Alts are welcome as long as there is room within the guild for them and that they have a story that fits with the guild. Inactive alts are first to be removed if needed.
  4. Oh... I can't believe I'm partially the cause for this thread... which is funny because I tend to not RP romances. It could also just be that I haven't found the right person or situation that I felt comfortable enough to explore that avenue with. My characters have had "crushes" and sometimes awkwardly flirted, but that has been it and it's usually a comedic type of thing. An interesting topic none the less. :afro:
  5. Hmm... maybe we should start another thread on role-play relationships. Could be an interesting topic. 8-)
  6. I've been trying to get better with these common errors myself. I usually find I make these common errors more often when trying to type fast to react to role-play or a conversation in chat. It's usually a matter of typing the words that I use the most often, such as it's instead of its. As such, it doesn't bother me when others do it. Also, with too, it's not just for 'as well' it can also mean too much. Let's not even get started on comma and semicolon usage. :frustrated:
  7. My character will be following her sister, so at this point that will be to Limsa Lominsa. :cat:
  8. I think one thing that makes most seasoned RPers cringe at cliche characters is in how it is presented. If a role-player feels the need to announce to everyone they meet "hey... I'm a lone wolf" then right away a seasoned role-player will probably roll their eyes and back away. Now if the same "lone wolf" just played the part most people would respect it more (and probably not know they were there). Basically, to me, it's really a matter of what you would tell someone in real life about who you are and about your past. Most people wouldn't start a conversation with "I'm an orphan". I think that's why a lot of these demon/vampire/half-breeds are a problem and make a lot of role-players unhappy is because they have to tell everyone that they have horns, wings or fangs etc. If you can't make said character in the game then, as far as I'm concerned, you shouldn't be playing one. I'm not going to remember your character sheet to know that you have these aesthetic elements and telling every new person you meet that you do is just silly. On top of that is the crazy stuff like: I'm from space, another planet, a demon half-breed super evil god, I'm a ninja! (Naruto) and Legoladrizzhiroth son of the king... etc A lot of it is really an excuse to either get attention or they simply can't come up with something more meaningful. So it's easier to just come up with one single (or in worse cases many at once) thing that is "unique" and "cool" and it's usually from their favorite book/comic/anime. But, frankly, after 10 others are doing it, it's not so unique anymore, it's just annoying. If everyone is trying to be unique "one-offs" then no one is. What you end up with is a bunch of people going around basically saying "No, I'm the unique and interesting character you want to know" "No, I am!" etc. Like many others, I won't go around telling anyone they are doing it wrong. I'm not paying their subscription fee, I can't control the world and I also don't think I'm the ruler of RP, but I'll be sure to avoid them later. On the flip side of that, I probably tend to make kinda boring characters by some people's standards. I may have an element of "the dead parents" etc, but I don't play off that as the sole motivation for my character or go and advertise it to everyone I meet. I concentrate on personality traits and motivations like watching out for a mischievous sister. Anywho, that's my take on it. So, cliche's aren't all bad, it's really in how you use it. Some things, however, are just silly when they really have no place in the world you're playing in.
  9. Congrats! Just wait till the final month before launch... It should jump pretty high. :cheer:
  10. Hey, nice! You got it inked. Looking good :approve:
  11. HEY! Happy Birthday! :joker: Hope you have(had) a fun day!
  12. I'll just add that as far as I know the ram limit on 32bit systems also includes your video ram. So if you have 2gig and then another gig on your video card that all counts. I read this a while ago so my memory (ha) might be a little off, but I'm pretty sure that's true.
  13. We're also loosing a little fps because it's not running full screen. There's a DLL floating around that will force it to go full screen. I got a score a little over 2800 on high with SLI and about 1900 without. I hope to at least pickup a new video card before launch. I'm looking at a Radeon 5870 or a Nvidia GTX480. My specs: -Core 2 Duo 3GHz (E6850) -2Gig 1333MHz DDR3 Ram -x2 8800 GTS 512MB (XFX Alpha Dog Edition) -MB Nvidia 790i Ultra (XFX) -Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 32bit -24" LCD at 1920x1200
