This would be AMAZING for us! My boyfriend and I started a FC with our friends but they lost interest in the game and so it is now just us 2, but we have a house and a workshop and are gaited behind the 4 player wall. So we would love to be included in the 'small FCs that need help' list Our FC is Echoes of Seraphim.

I just wanted to throw in my own vent over my disappointment.. I am in a very small FC, and we worked hard to save up money to get a house. We missed out the last patch they released wards because we were too late in the day to login, so this time we got up when the patch was released only to find out that there were people that were just way faster than us and by the time the patch was downloaded/installed and we logged in, all small lots were gone. As many others before me have stated, there is a serious balance issue between the plots they give small servers and large servers. They really should give the large ones more; it just makes more sense. Honestly, I'm not all that interested in the housing aspect, all I want is access to Chocobo Raising. That's it. It's a big reason I even got interested in FFXIV and got my boyfriend and all my friends to join it. It's my entire character background. And I really don't want to leave my FC, as I've worked hard to build it up from the bottom, but unless we're lucky with Patch 2.4 or they decide to make chocobo raising more accessible, I guess I'm out of luck. And that sucks. I'm willing to buy stuff I need for chocobo raising from the market board (after all, I went ahead and purchased all the fruits I need to dye my bird the color I want) as long as I can actually you know, raise them somehow. So I totally sympathize with everyone who is venting here... we all got screwed in one way or another by poor planning and lack of communication. *group hug* :chocobo:

:chocobo: Okay so I posted a thread similar to this before and got some good connections out of it, but now I really have a focus on what I'm looking for. So please let me know if you're interested! Chocobo Connections -- Whether you breed, race, sell, train, or are just simply interested in chocobos ICly, Faustina wants to meet your character! I have plans for her in future, and making connections revolving around her favorite thing in the world can only be beneficial to all parties involved. She is a trainer/raises them currently, looking to expand into racing and breeding in future. Adventuring Companions -- In the great quest for money money money, Faustina is often out deciphering treasure maps, hunting down marks, running errands, running dungeons, etc. She would LOVE to have friends to go out and do these things with on a regular basis Possible Family Connections -- Faustina's mother is an ex-member of the Coeurl clan, which means she could have any number of cousins running around that she doesn't know. We can always come up with a story of sorts for how they find out about each other and meet etc. I always enjoy having IC family members to RP with Business Partners -- When she is not out adventuring, Faustina also spends a lot of time harvesting raw materials from the land (botany) and creating garments to sell (weaving); always for profit. Hi everyone! I've looked around the linkshells and the forums and haven't quite found what I'm searching for so I decided to post this ad. I've been a Roleplayer for over 15 years, and have done MMO RPG quite a bit as well, mostly in WoW. When I got into the beta and fell in love with FFXIV I knew I wanted to RP in it but alas time and circumstance have kept me from fulfilling that goal until now. What I am looking for is a group of people to construct solid awesome fun character building/changing stories with that can be drawn out over a few weeks or even months. I have had several roleplaying buddies in the past who I was able to bounce ideas back and forth with and come up with some really good stories, and that's really what I want to find here. It can be a linkshell or just a group of like minded people crafting interesting stories with our characters, but no FC's as I am in one with my RL friends. I'm not too much into the RP where you just converge in a city or tavern and that's all it is, just your characters sitting around talking all the time (no offense to those that enjoy that, it's just not my cup of tea). With the style of FFXIV, I only have one character that I play (though on WoW I had 2 accounts full of characters on the same server lol) as she currently fulfills all that I need from both a game perspective and an RP perspective. Here is a little bit about her: Name -- Faustina Myrron Race -- Mi'qote, Seeker of the Sun Clan -- Coeurl, but she is not involved with them Family -- Her father is a native of Limsa who is an ex-pirate; he works in the shipyards and is also a supplier for her mother. Her mother runs a small stall in Hawker's Alley selling handmade accessories and other assorted goods (not for adventurers, more for citizens as they are only for looks). Purpose -- Faustina is completely obsessed with :chocobo:chocobos:chocobo: to the point that she wants to run her own chocobo farm one day, complete with breeding and training for racing and pleasure riding. To that end, she struck out on her own to find ways to make money so she can eventually buy her farm. She is deeply mired in the summoning arts, but also is a talented weaver and botanist. Recently she has taken a keen liking to treasure hunting. She is generally a nice person who tries to do good and will help others, especially if there is payment involved, but if anything might come between her and her dream she steers clear of it. Brief History -- Faustina's mother left the Coeurl clan to marry her father, and has been completely cut off from them since then. However, she married for love and has no regrets. Faustina is their only child and was raised somewhat sheltered, but had always seen chocobos and been highly interested in them. When she left home to find her way in the world, her father asked a friend of his to watch over her, and thus she gained a companion for most of her journey. As she has grown so much in strength and can mostly take care of herself now, she tends to be on her own a lot, ever searching for ways to make more gil. As for my availability, I work from home but I like to get up and move around/exercise after my work day is over so I'm not online during the week until around 8-8:30 PM CST. I usually can stay on til around 11 CST after that. Fridays I have all night and Saturday and Sunday can vary. I like to do both 'in person' RP where our characters are together in the game doig stuff and/or chat RP, through Linkshells. If this sounds interesting at all to you, please don't hesitate to give me a shout! It could be anything from a new gil making scheme, an amazing treasure to hunt that is worth thousands, etc etc. Sky's the limit!

Tyriont - Ah I see, yeah that can be beneficial too :3 Naunet - Yeah that's true, that's a more 'hardcore' attitude towards it, I guess? Like I said before, I'm not really hardcore, I just like experiencing everything a game has to offer As much as I love raiding, I think I would get burned out on it if I did it 3-4 times a week haha. :>

They kinda ignored mine, too, but it's okay. ^^; There are definitely instances where you have an idea for a group of people that simply doesn't jive with whatever roleplay concept you want to use for a group. It just depends on the concept you have, as to whether or not an IC or OOC free company is more appropriate. I was not ignoring anyone, merely stating my own opinion on this topic :3 You all have valid reasons to prefer keeping them separate, but that may not work for everyone. Like I said, to each their own (or personal preference). It's nice that there are a ton of options for us all to find our own niche Both of you have a completely different mindset/play style than me and that is perfectly okay! And Ashren, you are perfectly right too in that raiding usually only happens twice a week which leaves ample time for other things to happen. Even being busy with Raid Leading, I had plenty of time to write my stories with my friends/guildies, and to also do other things in the game. I also like Tyriont's set up with keeping the same group but using the Linkshells to do any RP that is held separate from Free Company events. Again, there is something for everyone in this game, it seems to me.

I am in agreement with Ashren, Kaln and others here. In WoW I was in a guild that did both RP and PVE as well as some PVP. We did it all and had no problems managing it. I am not a hardcore raider by any means, but I did a lot of Raid Leading in my guild and we managed to be very successful at it. To me, it's not really a competition to see WHO GETS THROUGH CONTENT FIRST ON THE SERVER, but more of a I want to see all the content in this game, and do it with like-minded people that I enjoy gaming with. I also enjoy the challenge of raiding. At the same time, our guild had a rich backstory and history, and we had regular super fun RP events on top of regular RPing. Being new to this whole LS/FC business, I intend to seek out a FC that does both RP and PVE (with maybe some PVP too, though not required) on the server. I intend to keep LS for other things, like having a place to chat with my friends when we're all doing different things and aren't in a party together. Maybe it just comes from the sense of community (including making RL friends that I now see regularly outside of gaming) I had with my guild in WoW, but I find it most enriching to create stories with people I see as part of my 'group' as a whole. To each their own, but I have seen PVE/RP guilds done successfully first hand, so that is what I want to find on Balmung.

I like his look a lot, it's neat how it gives him a totally different vibe from a caster type! Character wise, he has a lot of mystery and intrigue that makes you want to find out the backstory of him, like others have mentioned. Speaking from a character standpoint, I think if Faustina ever saw him walking around book in hand on more then one or two occasions she would definitely want to talk to him since she loves reading too. And she is a bit quirky/odd, so most likely she would talk to him like she knew him hehe

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I'm looking to do more of a medium-heavy RP. I don't normally RP in dungeons or raids, but most other stuff I can find moments to do some RP in. In the days of WoW, I would often work on gathering/crafting while RPing in chat channels so I will probably follow this here. Views on RP combat and injuries: I kind of suck at RP combat... I just have a hard time imagining it and it can get really out of hand without actual follow through with the game itself (ie sparring or what have you). Mild stuff, like slapping someone or punching them is okay. Injuries are fine if they go along with the story and are warranted. Views on IC romance: I'm fine with it, though Faustina may be hooking up with my RL boyfriend's character Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): These are very important... and they create more chances for RP! Definitely enjoy this aspect of RP. Views on lore: I try to stay as true to lore as possible. That's the whole driving force behind my creativity with my character, after all.
