  1. *Still think she's the only person who was disappointed by the ending of season one of Dexter, mainly because she had figured out so long in advance*
  2. I ind the subte apporach much more interesting as well, and it takes a very well developed char, so should be interesting Looking forward to see what comes out of it!
  3. That sounds good The only thing is, Seraj is currently the sister of Averis' character, so I have to make it fit that storyline as well Or I could create an alt for the purpose, but then I can't promise I'd play it that often Seraj however is not exactly a hero type herself, but that might be interesting too, to have a person with pretty low moral forced into more of a hero position to avoid a bigger evil
  4. I'd love to roleplay with you! So even if you don't find a Linkshell, I can party I think it's a very interesting idea. One of the bggest problems I've seen has been people playing villains way too cartoony, roaming around the major city going "Rawr, I'll kill you all!" more or less... I've also seen a really effective villain once though, who was an evil overlord type. It worked because he was super subtle about it, and because people didn't take the info they found about his guild on the forums, IC. When someone was in his way, instead of going after them directly, he hired other guilds of thugs to roughen them up a bit. The entire guild were more or less evil, but they came off as completely normal, hosting many events etc. It worked very well because [*]THEY played it very well, without godmodding [*]The community played along. No hero metagaming that he knew what was going on, etc.[/list:u] There was people who suspected things, and with reason, and it was cool to see them trying to prove it. So yeah, that's one way of doing it You could start your own LS!
  5. Hehe, thanks One thing about this: The style is sort of meant tobe used in a webcomic I might try to start for FF XIV. I've never tried anything like that before though, so we'll see how it goes. So I tried to keep it light and fluent, because I might have to draw it fast when I don't have much time ^^ And I sort of liked the sketchy look of it, so I'll probably keep that for the webcomic, at least for now, then it might develope later on.
  6. Just make sure to get Windows 7 64 bit if you get more than 2GB RAM I really should upgrade, that's the only thing about own computer that sucks (only 2GB RAM), but I don't have Windows 64 bit... Or money
  7. To me, the Mithra looked more cat-like, while the Miqo'te looks more human (with eyes, ears and tails as a cat depending on race). So I guess it's natural that the Miqo'te comes off as prettier ^^
  8. Hehe, I'm really not very good, so don't expect too much of my none-sketchy works. I'm still learning, hehe. But thanks.
  9. Haha, she seem to have the same expression at least Funny.
  10. Hehe, thanks I've never really read One Piece, so it's not on purpose
  11. Seraj as I imagine she will look, more or less. The style is purposely kept sketchy and "unfinished".
  12. I'm currently debating with myself if I have enough money for a CE. The main reason for me to get it should be the week headstart, and I don't know if that really is enough to spend all that money (that I doesn't have).
  13. Ah, so I guess my score of 3000+ was actually pretty good, good to know! Then I'm not so worried anymore
  14. Okay, I'm confused. I thought you wanted a low score? Am I wrong?
  15. I don't know hw much I trust the Benchmark. I got over 3000 and I have a Quadcore processer, and Nvidea GTX 260 (I think) graphic card, it should be enough to handle it. I haven't really had any probems in other games, and what I had seemed to have more to do with the connection than with the computer.
  16. I've personally never really liked that idea. I like, at least in stories, having my character travelling through a desert for days, trecking through mountains for a week, etc. It might not work like that in game, but I prefer it for my personal stories..
  17. To me, time in MMO's have always been relative. There is no way to explain exactly how it can take only a few hours getting from one part of the world to the other, or hang out in a bar and the sun and the moon will have gone up and down 60 times. Both real time and "faster speed" will eventually stop making complete sense, especially since, well, you can't (or at least shouldn't) play 24/7, so there will always be weird holes. So time passes in a speed that seems fitting for me and who ever I play with. And then I try to stay vague, instead of saying "It happened last month", I'd say "It happened some time ago"... I find it works best if people just agree on being flexible and not tries to determine exactly how long things take. And on that note: Travels. I know some roleplayers talk about that. If you are in one part of the country IC, should you be able to travel across the entire country in 10 min to be at an event? I have to admit, I've done it. It's not super realistic, but in games, it's sort of hard to plan several days ahead. But it also depends on the game. If portals for instance is a part of the world, it's not unrealistic.
  18. Oh, this is neat! I wasn't sure if my name sounded like a Miqo'te at all, but since I just clicked through and found a Suraj, I guess Seraj should work too ^^
  19. Looks great! Maybe we should get some info jotted down on Baltazar's Favor so we can get in it too ^^
  20. I'm not sure... Limsa Lominsa seems awesome, and Ul'dah would fit Seraj very well... But then again, she's in a point of her life where it's not only what SHE wants that counts, so Limsa Lominsa could be a good choice...
  21. I agree that having a mount makes a lot of people skip the exploration, but personally, I enjoy riding around, exploring on my mount, or getting off and running sometimes... Maybe even walking when I feel like it. I'd love to see mounts in the game, but mainly because the idea of breeding your own Chocobo is amazing.
  22. Or add a slight glow to it, or a shadow, which should make it more visible too without being quite as obvious. But yeah, nice signature, especially for a first one
  23. If they release the flayer, Seraj is so becoming one! I don't care how many else is... Almost <.< But yeah, it probably will be popular, since it's quite different. But part of me doubts it will be out at launch. I'll still have to look in to the "of the land" and "of the hand" ones.. For some reason, my characters are never really the crafter types... Maybe because I usually don't enjoy it very much in game
  24. I think one of the biggest dangers for a roleplay community is that it easily becomes to biased. Those of us who are experienced roleplayers, and I'm guessing it's most by the looks of it, will have seen so many horrible characters, so many clichés that it's easy to dismiss everyone showing a sign of them. Sadly, that also closes us to a lot of really great roleplay, because even though they are rare, some people manage to pull them of extremely well. Some of my best roleplay was with a guy who played an evil overlord. Sounds tried and tired, right? He did it really well. The entire guild was based around having a secret agenda, he never came out and said he was evil, instead hired goons from other guilds to do the dirty deeds, making sure it couldn't be trased back to him, all the while his own guild held large scale events, markets and parties. It worked so well, but it only worked because the community allowed it. They could have scowled at the idea, but people played along and that ended up creating some really interesting story lines. But yeah, most of this has been said before, and now it's starting to sound like I'm lifting my finger or something, which was really not my intention! This topic just got me thinking. All above being said, there are things I'd shake my head a bit over too. I'm gonna say being related to a major lore character is one of the worst ones, because you almost HAVE to bend the lore. It wouldn't be so bad if you claimed to be the 3rd cousin of Uther, twice removed, but it's always Illidans son or Sylvanas' sister (yeah, I'm playing WoW at the moment <.<). It's good to be aware of the cliches and then twist them and use them to create interesting roleplay. But in order to do it effectively, you have to be aware of them first
