The Beta Test errors 3102 and 90000 are still under investigation and unfortunately we have no new information regarding them at this time. We are aware of the frustration these errors are causing and apologize that they are impacting the accessibility and enjoyment of the game. As soon as we have more details, we'll be sure to announce it. Once again, we apologize for the issues and appreciate your understanding.

I think this is the way in ALL MMOs. I have a 95 armorer in EQ2. Top line know all the recipies. And don't make anything but a handful of items to get people past their crafting epic, because everything else is trash compared to loot drops in dungeons and quests.

My first impressions of the character creator is great. i didn't realize different facial structures would give you different accents on the face! Nothing too over exaggerated. Aaaand that's it since I can't get into a server.

*chuckles* Yes, I do know what you mean. In EverQuest, I returned after many many years as the game was free. They had a new server there, Vox, which was only a year old. What a great place to go to, enjoy the game and make a guild? I did good for about 3 months then it all went south. Since my new guild was very different from others on the server, along with real life kicking in .... which is a very big factor for me. I've been married 13 years, I'm 35 and wife is 40 .... so RL will always take priority, my guild of 35 main accounts went down to 5 after a long month of family deaths, vacations, and illnesses. To say I was sad is an understatement. I was crushed. And trust me I put a ton of work into it, I made my own website, worked my butt off ... and it didn't work. So I guess I have a fear of trying to "start over again" on a "new" server. That is a reservation I have about going to Gilgamesh which I don't think will easily be allayed. Yet that could also move into Balmung. If RL takes priority, would any guilds have myself and the wife if we are gone for almost a month? Some can be sudden disappearances though I always do my best to tell people when it will be a planned absence. Eh, more to think about.

I can understand how many new or returning RPers can be torn on where to go. Originally I was like "Oh let's go to this new server (Gilgamesh) where we can start new and make our place in the game!" And now reading this topic I am having second thoughts. And it is difficult. Mine are these 2 .... 1. Balmung has the dedicated, rooted in RP community. Once can tell that by many posts here and other places. This is great for new people to find a spot but it can also be VERY intimidating. I've been on the outside of cliques. I've been forgotten in a few minutes of RP when a person's friend came on. I've been lost in tavern RP where the chat window goes mock 5 scrolling upwards. 2. Gilgamesh would let me start in a place where I can slowly get my groove on, find my place, and make a name for myself. But it is hard with all the rumors and talk about such a possible low RP population. And, sadly, I've been there as well when I wanted to Rp but there is none to find .. ever. On an RP server. So I'm not sure what to do. Servers still all locked for me and the spouse, so thinking to just kinda forget it and sit on this all until head start or live comes and goes. We both already have our RP concepts put together pretty well. I even have a few more concepts in my head but I want to make sure I have the right place to put them all (splitting between servers would be bad for me). How did you all make up your minds?

I asked a guy who had a strong dislike of RPers about this... His answer made sense. In his eyes, what Role-playing means his nothing more than having a character to represent him in the game world. To him that's all playing a role is. And it's a perfectly legit definition I mean it doesn't -have- to go any further. Yet there are people (us) who claim that it's not RPing, that RPing goes further than that, and they (us) start making demands and acting superior like we know better, we are better, and we bitch about immersion... To him us so-called RPer were just weird creeps taking it too far. And all those stereotypes and ERPphobia don't help. As much as it pained me I could kinda understand where the guy came from. Reading the answer this person gave you, it is sad. It honestly sounds like they ran into one person who acted like that, or fell into a flame war on forums some time in the past. And honestly, they are making just as bad blanket statements as RPers are to non-RPers. *shrugs* But, eh .. what do I know. I guess I'm more jaded and got my blinders on after sooo many years in MMORPGs. I just /ignore and move on, and don't let it get to me. (The only exception if the person is doing blantant racial slurs, sexual harassment etc then I don't ignore and start reporting) All I can suggest is do that. But never EVER tell them you are reporting them. They don't care. Trust me. Just do it and move on.

Would love to be part of this, but can't get on Gilgamesh (which I am sure many many other RPers are locked out as well) So guess I'll be seeing you all in head start/live!

Oddly while I was waiting seems lost connection to all EU/NA servers, though the JP ones are still up there. Is this normal?

Well the spouse and I have decided we will wait for Gilgamesh to open ... literally ... we are sitting here hitting refresh every 3 minutes. I have a Marauder and the spouse gots an Arcanist .... Hope we get in tonight!

When I played LoTRO my main was a villain character. It is a VERY small minority of who wishes to always be evil as such ... Which led me to getting burned out and quitting. Way too much drama (pulled from IC into OOC) I never got left alone in any RP or OOC setting ... Granted, I would love to do a naughty deed here and there, I'm all up for it. But I gues it's how receptive others are. In games like this, I think most if not all people who play, want to be the hero. I would be more than interested to look into anything if a person wanted to make such a guild. We could waylay willing people's caravans ... steal things .. etc. Communication is the key!

I've decided to wait til live when I hope to get into the RP server of my choice. For now .. just putzing on a throw away character with the spouse.

I have bantered with the idea of having an IC/OOC journal back in EverQuest. In essence, I'd make an IC post of what I did in the game that day, with pictures and the like, and then below that make an OOC posting of my feelings of how things went etc. I'd be willing to do so here once I get used to it more and it goes live.

Yeah looks like there is no way around it. All servers that people have set as RP are all locked down right now. Goblin; Marlboro; Adamantoise; Cerberus; Cactaur; Odin; Behemoth These are what are unlocked So I'll be making a char to putz on Cactaur for now

I am Bloodwillow and with my husband (who plays Lucy McStuffins) we will be invading Gilgamesh. You'll find us both in Driftwood Coast Bloodwillow is the bodyguard to Lucy.
