Finding random RP is indeed an awkward experience. So I would recommend you joining an FC that focuses on RP. There are quite a few of them, and most are listed in the FC section of this forum, so have a look there, find one that fits your RP theme and ask to join/send an application. ^^

Squall isn't white-haired. :3 Don't stifle his creativity with your lore bible thumping. You've no proof that Squall's hair wouldn't be white after dimension hopping to Eorzea. Stop hating fun and accept it. His hair didn't change with all the dimension-hopping in Dissidia. And it hasn't happened to the other characters that dimension-hopped to Eorzea. But I digress. People can RP what they want, but like I said in the Vana'diel thread, those who RP something that is rather "far out" of the current setting shouldn't expect everyone else to jump on the wagon. I personally have some OC character concepts, but instead of having them dimension-jump into the different worlds, I would rather go the route of "How would he be when born and raised in this world". But that's just how I do things. ^^ As long you have people around you to RP with that accepts whatever RP style or character concept you wish to RP as, then go for it. Even if it means you are RP'ing as a character from another world.

Showing off my latest glamour: I wish there was a way to show your character full-body while in-game. I know you can basically just take a screenshot of your character select screen, but then you can't make cool poses. :3

So if I was to have a gun (like the one you can see in my signature) that had the soul of a voidsent, then that wouldn't be breaking the lore? If it is, I will let go of the idea, of course. However, the idea came to me when I first got this, as it reminded me of a character called Remington Smisse from the French cartoon and MMO called Wakfu, who wield several weapons that contain demon souls (the Shushu, as they are called in that world). So thought it could be a cool and neat idea, should it be possible in the world of FFXIV, that is.

Is there any mention in the FFXIV lore if a soul can be caught and kept in a weapon of sort? For example, the soul/essence of a voidsent being held in a sword, or somehow having a weapon that is "alive". Is this a thing that can happen/has happened in the lore of FFXIV?

I've had it happen to me a few times, me sending people a tell without getting any sort of response... but you know what? IT'S NOT THAT BIG A DEAL! I just shrug and go "Oh well" and move on with my life.

Seriously. Straight Elezen are like unicorns. Maybe the Elezen doesn't appeal to most straight male players. Or they are just not in the RPC.

Same reason Ryu is in Smash, and not Chun Li or any other Street Fighter character. Cloud is by far the most recognizable and popular Final Fantasy character there is. I like Cloud... he's not my fave, not even in FF7, but I like him. ^^ It's just so out of place. FF7 was never on a nintendo console. I know there are some other non-Nintendo characters, but I didn't like them being added either. As was brought up in RPC chat, they could have done a FF character from 1-6 since they were all on Nintendo. Missed opportunity for a little black mage, or some kind of FF1 warrior of light tag-team character, like Pokemon Trainer in brawl. Black mage/white mage/(fighter or red mage), plz. Most likely tied in with the fact there will be an FF7 HD remake. There's no pre-FF7 (or post, for that matter... maybe other than Noctis) character that is relevant at this time. Just Nintendo and Square Enix cashing in on the remake.

And naturally I find the straight ones the most attractive. It's like that IRL too, I don't get it! *pats* It's the whole "want something you can't have" ordeal, maybe. The optimal would be just to make an FFXIV equivelant of your FFXI character. Like "How would my character be if he/she was born in THIS universe instead!", rather than going into dimensional transportation and such. Yes, as seen, it -is- possible, however it is a rare occurance, and as mentioned above, it is frowned upon when people RP their FFXI character in FFXIV. That said, you can do whatever you like, really. If those you RP with accept this idea of yours, then have fun with it. But there will be people who won't accept it - or will just ICly treat you as an insane person if you start talking about you coming from another world and such.
