  1. Just as I was done with this event, another player said "There goes our SAM trainer". ... Would be an interesting twist if she stayed around and became just that.
  2. ... I'm watching, but... nothing's happening. I don't see it. Or maybe you just don't have it. ;3
  3. We will reach Miqo'te status of horniness soon enough! Though it is still not within our reach... yet!
  4. I hope the set will be dyable. ^^ Or rather, I hope the white part of the vest can be dyed black. It's most likely the red that will be dyable though, if it can be dyed.
  5. I just wish they were Xaela scales dark or could be dyed to be. But ah well. Not gonna RP a demon though, still full Au Ra. But they look cool.
  6. That short messy hair is super cute on male Highlanders. :3
  7. At the launch of Heavensward, this happened ALL the time. People posted about it on reddit alot. I guess because most people wanted to play Dark Knight and/or Astrologian. I do wonder why it's happened now though.
  8. Vachir Crimsonborn - formerly known as Vachir Toshin - is a male Xaela Au Ra from Othard. His tribe, the Toshin, lived along the Northern mountainsides of Othard, away from most other tribes and thus was rather unknown to the rest of the world, even other tribes. They worshipped a god, Kharash, who turned out to be a voidsent summoned generations ago. His essence laid dormant in Vachir as the entire tribe was wiped out by the Garleans, assuring Vachir's survival. He fled to Doma and joined a resistance group, killing Garleans, until Doma was destroyed as well. He then fled to Eorzea along the many Domans. While in Eorzea, he learned about the culture and customs of the Eorzeans (though he find most of it rather strange), but he is trying to carve his own path in this new, odd realm. He felt incredibly lonely though, even with his newfound friends, and wanted to make sure his god was still with him. In a foolish attempt to try and summon Kharash, the voidsent awakens within him and takes over, almost killing them both. But by the effort of his friends, Vachir is freed from the dark entity which was ultimately destroyed. Knowing his tribe had been living a lie for generations, that everything he believed in was nothing but deception, Vachir now has a hard time finding his place in the world, struggling with finding out where he belongs and what he should do with his life. He is a hunter though, and he uses these skills to profit the mercenary company he is part of. His biggest wish is to one day be able to slay a Primal.
  9. I like the costume alot. Pretty cool. Would love to own that armour set. Hopefully a pair of daggers that fits can be obtained as well. ^^
  10. Vachir means Thunderbolt and was picked from a list of Mongolian names. As I found out, it can be both male and female, as most of those names on said list. I just thought it sounded cool. ^^
  11. Depends how my mood is. Lately, I haven't been as much online, but then there are these long periods where I spend almost all my sparetime online. I recently decided to take a break, try other games, do other stuff, concentrate on some IRL things. I've always had a hard time finding the balance though.
  12. *Fire, Fira, Firaga, Firaja First one has always just been Fire, Blizzard, Aero etc, and the first upgrade then replaced the last letter with an -a, like Fira, Blizzara, Aera etc. ^^ I do see the points people make about the numeral ones being easier to manage and it's also easier to just add more numbers on a "Fire" spell for further upgrades... but I still think the "-a, -aga, -aja" spells sound cooler. And if Square Enix is just going to keep making spells like "Fire VIII" in the future, they need to replace the people who are giving these spells names. I'd rather they came up with completely other spells and names then, than just putting more numbers and upgrading current spells. That's just lazy design.
  13. They look alright, albeit boring. Not the ones I would've chosen. Nor did I. But I might make use of the male one in either case. It's cute.
  14. You misunderstood what I was saying. I am saying that the Gothic styles are not the same as Victorian styles. That's it. Ah, gotcha. ^^ I think I'm calling it Victorian Gothic as in the modern term gothic, meaning the dark clothing based on the Victorian style. Like shown in the link from the wiki I posted. I can see alot of the Heavensward armour being inspired from the Gothic era, like those pictures you posted.
  15. Well, FFXIV isn't set in one time period. It's kinda a mix of many different ones, because... well, fantasy world. The devs can pick and choose whatever inspiration they feel fits the theme. The new armour sets, along with the Scholar's eso set kinda fits the Victorian feel.
  16. Gothic Fashion is a subset of the Goth subculture, which is very heavily detached from the historical period marked by Gothic architecture. Squeenix seems very much aware of this, considering that the Heavensward NPCs in Ishgard wear clothing inspired by that historical period. So this is still out of left field. If anything, I would say that they've decided to go Full Steampunk at this point, considering that we're now at the cusp of the "Great Sky Age." Well, more Steampunk'esque, as there's actually no real steam being used. But I see what you mean. Hence why I think the style is more Victorian gothic, which Steampunk is also based on. I like it though. FFXIV has many mixed styles in their armour sets. It's cool. ^^
  17. What you just linked is in stark opposition to coats and top-hats. The architecture used for the expansion is indeed Gothic, but that was already stated. We're talking about the armor. There's a link talking about Gothic fashion in the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_fashion Seems like some of the new armour is inspired from this.
  18. Typical, the Primal minions look cooler than the Egis.
  19. If anyone is in doubt what "gothic" means, Google says: Gothic ˈɡɒθɪk/ adjective 1. relating to the Goths or their extinct language, which belongs to the East Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family. It provides the earliest manuscript evidence of any Germanic language (4th–6th centuries AD). 2. of or in the style of architecture prevalent in western Europe in the 12th–16th centuries (and revived in the mid 18th to early 20th centuries), characterized by pointed arches, rib vaults, and flying buttresses, together with large windows and elaborate tracery. English Gothic architecture is divided into Early English, Decorated, and Perpendicular. And you can read some more on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic Either case, it is gothic inspired.
  20. Why is it upside down? Looks like he is playing air guitar.
