  1. Arianys would love the market. She's not much of a vendor yet but she would love to come poke around everyone's wares and be a social butterfly lol
  2. Have you tried adding stress cracks to the stone, around the edge and middle? Also do you just want the stone, or the whole apparatus, because adding the supports will make it look far less boob-ish.
  3. I haven't played much on Gilgamesh but Balmung is the legacy server so there's going to be a lot of 1.0 veterans on there, and it also means the RP community is more established BUT Gilgamesh is a great opportunity to forge new RP relationships and communities so really it's a 50/50 toss up.
  4. I guess Cactuar has one too? I think I saw that thread somewhere around here. But Gilgamesh and Balmung are definitely the most populated and easiest to find RP in.
  5. Just wait till later tonight. I had to wait till around 11:30 pm or so to make a character on Balmung.
  6. It's also important to note that the other hardware components of your build must compliment your card, to maximize it's efficiency. A fairly weak motherboard or processor will bottleneck the graphic memory capabilities of your card and cause it to give you less performance than you could be getting. Make sure your mobo is allowing for maximum data transfer from your card, and also ensure your RAM is able to keep pace.
  7. Arianys is a glass cannon - she fights using lightning quick maneuvers and pinpoint precision bow shots, but in a straight-up fistfight, she may as well punch herself for all the good it will do her. She also has no pain tolerance, so she tries to avoid being hurt as often as possible. Out of combat, she is very well-educated and well-spoken, classically trained in the harp and lute, but she is also very naive and has no street smarts to speak of. She is overly trusting, and despite her lofty upbringing, has a fondness for red wine which sometimes gets her into trouble.
  8. Not going to read through 7 pages' worth of replies, so hopefully no one has said this yet, but there's always ONE race in every MMO like that. WoW: Draenei. GW2: Sylvari. SWTOR: Twi'lek. It's unavoidable. Edit: Also this game is Japanese, so, you know, sexy catgirls.
  9. *runs to Sal* Saaaaaallll the Cap'n is making bad touch!
  10. *stabs nat with an arrow* I'm also the ship sniper!
  11. *poke* Join the SGC guys! The ship bard is pretty li'l me!
  12. Updated... update. Also made a Lancer on Gilgamesh to see which server I like better, so Gilgameshers add Saidel Atherion.
  13. Update! Went with Balmung, because it unlocked first. So, fellow Balmungers, feel free to add me as a friend! Arianys Windgrove is the name.
  14. [*]Will update/edit later
  15. Still waiting for the new character restriction on Gilgamesh to lift. I suppose, being a new popular game, that peak hours are longer than normal.
  16. Ach! Finally got the game downloaded and booted up and I can't create a new character on Gilgamesh OR Balmung! Ffffffffffff Square!
  17. Yeah, probably going to roll on Gilgamesh. Also, after studying the lore for a bit, the name I chose seems to fit all right for a Hyur, so, barring it being taken, look for Arianys Windgrove on Gilgamesh!
  18. I finally got my hands on a digital download copy of the game! It hasn't finished downloading yet, but I thought I'd make my introduction post anyway, so I can start getting to know you all --MMORPG background Started waaaaaaaay back in the early 2000's with WoW, which I still play to this day. I played Diablo 2 (if that counts as an MMORPG), Guild Wars 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Neverwinter. --RP experience I have a multitude of RP experience, starting with tabletops. I am an avid D&D player (DMing a game currently on Roll20) and have played Vampire: The Masquerade, Warhammer 40K, and Pathfinder. I was a high-ranking officer in my GW2 guild, and a Lt. Commander in my SW:ToR guild. --Character ideas/info I still need to brush up on my lore with Eorzea and whatnot, but generally I prefer to play female characters who are younger, plucky, and favor quick DPS classes like rogues and thieves. My fallback character that I will most likely create first is Arianys Windgrove, though the name may change if it does not fit the lore. --How did you learn about the coalition? Through the all-knowing master of all, Google. --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I am a heavy RPer and prefer to be in-character 90% of the time. The only time I am typically not in character is during dungeons or raids. If you see me on the streets, please walk up and say hi! The best RP is the one that's played off-the-cuff. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) I'm 25, married, with a 2 1/2 year old son. I work in IT and am going back to school for programming. When not gaming, I'm drawing, reading comics, or spending time with my wife and son. I like pizza and tacos, and my belly reflects that As an aside, I have not yet chosen a server, obviously, but I was leaning toward Gilgamesh, since I am a new player with no past experience of Final Fantasy MMOs. Can anyone suggest whether I should go with Gilgamesh or Balmung?
  19. Feel free to move my inquiry if this is the wrong thread. I haven't bought ARR yet, but I'm considering it. It seems like a pretty decent MMO, good mechanics, IGN gave it an 8.6 (though it's hard to trust IGN, to be honest). Right now I play WoW, and I have for several years. I'm a member of a prominent RP guild on Earthen Ring, and am still enjoying end game content and the new patch raids, for the most part. Basically my question is, how full and robust would people say is the RP right now on either (unofficial, it seems) RP server in ARR. The games seem evenly matched in other areas (ARR squeaks out a slight victory for seniority [long-time Final Fantasy player] and because I like the graphics more on ARR) so really, the availability and quality of the RP is what would make or break a sale for me. So feel free to give me your honest opinions! I welcome them all
