  1. I'm working on leveling DRG at the moment, and he'll be pretty geared when I hit 50 as well (thank you end-game greed drops). I've only done the first three turns of BCoB, but I want to get into more raiding and EX stuff, so I'd love to help out. (Also have i101 PLD)
  2. When I last did a server transfer it was $18. Not that bad, certainly not the most expensive server transfer out there.
  3. Reilan and Wolf can just hire each other for stuff.
  4. Going to be waiting for lore and naming conventions before I go into any great plotting for my Au Ra but I do want her to be a Machinist.
  5. If anyone asks, Reilan refers to himself as a sellsword. Inquiries about his past yield little more than "I was a knight of House Fortemps."
  6. As long as he's making pay, he really doesn't care what he's doing! As long as it doesn't contradict his code, or involve anything "of a barbaric nature" as he likes to put it.
  7. I have a three year old son. That's enough pets for me.
  8. Can confirm, Reilan thinks Highlanders are good meat shields and not much else
  9. Reilan is SOL due to lack of Elezen players. Looks like he'll be pathetically hitting on Miounne at the Canopy again this year. Le Sigh.
  10. Another leggy Elezen dame. Thank you Based Square-Enix.
  11. To be honest, I like that facet of the established lore. I like the fact that everyone in Eorzea is not all kumbaya and sunshine and rainbows. It's a tumultuous place, with real tension between the races (with varying intensity) and it provides a unique angle from which to approach your roleplay. How would my character's preconceived notions and prejudices affect this decision? For my part, I do play Reilan as a traditionally-reared Ishgardian Elezen, with all the prejudices that entails. He won't be a racist dick to your face, but he has subtly different reactions to things based on which race perpetrates the action he is reacting to. It makes me really think about how my roleplay is going to come out, and it's a great way to tep outside your comfort zone.
  12. You sir, are engaging in the wrong type of dark rituals.
  13. I'm pretty sure the fact that they can cross-breed alone indicates different races, all one species.

  15. I was in WoD last night and had one of those situations where myself and the other two tanks were just sort of silently waiting for the others to take the lead. Finally I Shield Oath'd and just said fuck it and went ahead and started MTing. Immediately the higher geared tank came and ripped all the aggro off me, and maintained it. This happened for every single trash mob and boss. I even politely waited at Angra Mainyu since I thought maybe she's just waiting for everyone to get situated? But we still waited far past that point and she didn't move. Every. Time. Do you want to MT or not? FUCKING DECIDE.
  16. I think that's just a common thing in general. When you're really into a conversation or interaction, some of the finer details just go by the wayside. I can easily recall at least two situations where Chachan was supposed to be eating or drinking something and completely blanked on it until much later. Which leads to him enjoying his "now room temperature juice" and whatnot rather often. When that happens to me I just go with my character having been drinking/eating the whole time, so without emoting actually drinking any alcohol, they just progressively get more drunk. Ghost-drinking~
  17. Reilan is an Ishgardian sellsword with a bad work ethic but excellent tank skills. He could certainly prove an unwilling and lazy shield for Estabella, given she provides him with ample opportunity for snarky commentary, a sack full of jingling gil, and even more ample opportunity to be condescending to anyone who isn't an Elezen.
  18. Given that we have no specific lore on this and we'll only see some if someone at SE is bored/going to be fired anyway, I'd say go nuts (lol) with whatever your little heart desires to keep babby-making at bay with.
  19. Welcome to Balmung! I'd say poke Reilan for RP but, being Ishgardian and an Elezen, he can be somewhat... ahem... condescending to Miqo'te. That said, if she can stomach that, please send me a tell for some RP!
  20. I've done a few gil-for-art pieces and for a colored one-character piece I usually charge about 200k gil. Uncolored pieces are less, more than one character is more. Part of it is personal comfort, part is also buyer generosity, but I'd say that's a comfortable starting price.
  21. I wholeheartedly support the creation of a third RP server to alleviate the stress of Balmung's current server lock woes, and would love to help facilitate the flourishing of RP on Siren. I'll make a new character there when I have some free time and I'll get in contact with one of you to see how I can help.
  22. This. More than once my characters have gotten hammered without a single emote about drinking the alcohol in front of them.
  23. "My lord commander! News from the front!" Reilan watched the messenger scurry into his command tent, lifting his gaze from the maps scattered about the war table. "Speak then lad, what news?" "The front reports that the last of the Dravanian horde has been rounded up and summarily executed, m'lord. The surrounding lands are firmly under Ishgardian control. Scouts work to locate small pockets of Dravanians in the hills but... 'tis over, m'lord. We've won." Reilan watched the messenger for some time before striding gracefully from his tent to observe the surrounding landscape. The skies were mercifully clear of dragons, and cheers echoed through the hills. Clearly the news of victory had spread quickly throughout the coalition forces of Ishgard's houses and the Temple Knights. Reilan's gaze panned to the Ishgardian banner flying in the breeze next to his tent, under which hung a pennant bearing the sigil of the Temple Knights. He stared at it for a moment before walking briskly to a nearby raised outcropping. As he crested it to stand above the gathered soldiers one of his personal escort called out through a bullhorn, "The Lord Commander speaks!" The gathered soldiers quieted and turned their attention to Reilan. "Soldiers of Ishgard! Holy knights of the Church! Today we give our utmost thanks unto the Fury, for she hath delivered unto us a great victory over the devil hordes we have fought for so long!" He paused to allow the men a rousing cheer. "Let those who doubted our purpose, let those who questioned our faith tremble, for today, we have shown our quality! Today, we have proven the might of Ishgard!" Again the men cheered, louder than before. "Let us raise high the lance of our goddess, that we may herald the return of the glory of Ishgard! And let all of Eorzea, and the dogs in Garlemald know that the strength of Ishgard does not waver! Our faith does not falter! And we! Will! Never! Fall!!" He ended his speech with a thrust of his armor-clad fist in the air, adding his shout to the cheers of his men. Their roar shook the surrounding land to its very core.
  24. I have a Miqo'te Summoner and an Ishgardian Elezen, and I've had no trouble finding a wizard's tower and an exiled Ishgardian vanguard to occupy their RP time, respectively. The only other defined, selective RP type that would catch my eye is a Keeper clan, as I find Keeper tribal lore fascinating. If anyone has that sort of thing in mind, or has one established, I have the inactive alts and Fantasia potions for such an endeavor.
