K'hane and Sazhi'to stop to reflect on things while in the middle of their Eternal Bonding pilgrimage.

I usually pick character names that just pop into my head and sound cool. Reilan Orycia isn't a strictly lore-abiding Elezen name but then again Reilan isn't really a typical Elezen (save for the part where he thinks Elezen is da best and everyone else is just the rest). K'hane's name was actually chosen before I knew the whole letter prefix thing was just for Seekers (she's a Keeper) so I wrote into her background that her father is a Seeker and her mother a Keeper and they compromised on naming their children so that they would keep the tribe prefix while having the mother's last name (her brother's name is K'pazh).

That's actually a really cool idea, and a great way to explain a non-Padjal being a White Mage. Kudos for creativity.

It's not so much that they're annoying because there are ways to circumvent the lock, it's annoying because there are just so many of them. It's hard to take two steps on the forums or in-game without someone mentioning it. After awhile, all that can be said about it has been said, and at this point we're beating a dead horse that has already decayed and become just a skeleton.

You don't pay very much attention to the official forums, then. That's kind of wrong. I'm on the official boards every day and have yet to see anyone being outright hostile regarding alts. You only see people even getting close when someone starts the monthly "open Balmung plz" thread over there and people are just sick of seeing it. Shit, I'm sick of seeing it and I don't even visit the official boards.

The reason you never saw alt-hate with WoW is because alts were necessary. In FFXI/XIV you can play every role with one character if you want to, whereas in WoW if you have a Paladin but you feel like playing a Hunter that day, better roll an alt son, cuz there's only one class per character in this game! Yeah, SE gives you the option to have alts in this game but from (IMO) the intended perspective of someone playing, it's pointless because hey, you can be literally every class/job in the game on one character. Why would you need more? SE doesn't seem to consider RPers when making decisions like this because we're probably not much more than a speck on their radar. That's just speculation of course, but that's the vibe I get from them.

I love SRPGs. Fire Emblem (if it can really be considered one) and Final Fantasy Tactics are two of my favorites.

The closest Reilan has ever come to killing someone who didn't deserve it is the few times he's hunted and killed heretics. His real "bad" sins are flirting with women in taverns just to lead them on, because he thinks it's amusing, and then just up and leaving when their interest is piqued, and being kind of a subtly racist prick to other races because he's Elezen and Ishgardian and therefore one of the "holy people". He sees Ul'dahn Lalafell merchants as petulant children playing politics in their sandbox, Miqo'te have little more use than entertainment, Hyur are impudent upstarts that have encroached on land ordained by the Twelve to be ruled by the Elezen, and Roegadyn are good meat shields and little else. Now, he won't straight up say that to your face, but he's thinking it. Heeeee's thinking it.

I am an ardent Elder Scrolls fan (ESO wai u suk bad T^T). I was always a big fan of the old Final Fantasy games, Tales series, Phantasy Star, Xenogears (but couldn't get into Saga or beyond), Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights... a good mix of JRPG and WRPG. Edit: Forgot Suikoden.

My department is being restructured so the remote support team is a separate entity from the local desktop support team. That means we get a new supervisor. Our new supervisor comes into the office today when it's just me and my coworker, sits down, looks at us and says, "How would you guys feel about getting an Xbox One in here?" I love restructuring. I want to eternally bond with it.

There's also the fact that we haven't seen ANY Miqo'te at all among the Domans. It's Yugiri and then a bunch of Hyur. I can't imagine, if Miqo'te originated in Doma, that ALL of them left Doma to migrate to Eorzea. There would still have to be even a minority population, and at least a few should have survived the Garlean razing of Doma. But the whole thing is speculation anyway, so, *shrug*.

We won't see it because we have Alchemist, but I would love a healer class that operates like the Final Fantasy Tactics Chemist class. Use daggers and pistols as weapons, and heal by throwing potions at party members that need healing. What fun!

My character being a proud Ishgardian and his FC being a rigidly Ishgardian unit, I forsee much time spent in Ishgard for Reilan. For my alts? Probably not so much.
