It seems like an unnecessary and complicated change, IMO. As a main PvE-er I'd much rather be able to use "Fire 1, 2, 3" etc, rather than the -ra -ja -ga suffixes. Also, like Kage mentioned, no one is going to want to re-learn rotation names this late in the game. Note that I am an old-school Final Fantasy guy, and I love the old incantations and spell names. I just don't think they translate well to an MMO aesthetic.

I helped my friend with her crafting by putting on a leopard print subligar and the Halloween event gloves and thighboots and twerking on her crafting station with the /furious emote.

Just based on the other in-game models, I'd probably use an Elezen base with very short rounded ears for a pure-blood Garlean, but a good point nonetheless.

I have a habit of cycling through races for my main character since I don't really RP with him much, I just do PvE stuff. SE has gotten ungodly amounts of my money just from selling me piles of Fantasia. Because I'm bored at work, I'm letting you all decide (or not, you could also tell me to pick a race and fucking settle with it, I guess) what my main avatar's next incarnation will be. Vote in the poll, tell me what a bad person I am for spending so much money on intangible digital goods, and be on your way.

Seconded. More savage armor for WAR pls. We are not goody-two-shoes PLDs or edgy DRKs.

I can't wait to run these dungeons five million times and see maybe one piece of tank armor.

My magecat has done this, though it was with scarification rather than a tattoo. The scars serve as the guides and her own aether serves as the magic which would normally run in the enchanted ink. It's a protection spell, similar to the Echo but not as potent and without the translation bit, and it is in constant effect. The spell is a giant rune that is scarred into her back, and was carved using a tiny tangible "blade" of aether by her husband. Is it possible by lore? Dunno, it's neither explicitly denied or supported. But I do it anyway, because it's fucking metal.

I tend to be the same. I started MMOs as a minmaxer and eventually began to RP as a creative outlet and to help add longevity to games I enjoyed. However this translates into me playing classes where 'efficient' meets 'fun' and sometimes that class conflicts with the original idea for a character. I was curious if I was weird for altering the RP around my character to suit what I enjoy in PvE rather than simply just sorta.. going with it. Perhaps it's more applicable in FF14 because of the glamouring system too and getting appropriate looking gear for my character that's sensible to me/his RP. According to the responses in this thread, yes, we are the weird ones. But at least we can be weirdos together.

Wildstar was an even better example. I built this for my guild to use as a hangout on Wildstar. This kind of plot is achievable by every single individual character. Every single one is granted a plot of land, for free, at level 14 with a full thousand item limit inside, thousand item limit outside, with 40 items inside and 40 items outside permitted to be lighting. That's every single individual character over level 14. Now, why this can't be implemented in FFXIV might be related to age or how the housing parses from the server. However, if it's being limited simply because the wards are the point of limitation, then the wards are liabilities. They could simply give everyone a personal housing area. Then, allow them to purchase wards for vast sums. Then, if they want to get fancy, let the people who own the wards build even larger upgrades. That would allow whole groups of FCs to get together for the ward, but would also mean that there could only be wards as needed. Then, if someone is being removed from a ward, they don't have to have their house sold and demolished, it can just be kicked off the ward and packed up on off-site storage until the account is reactivated. But, as they're moving to demo the houses, it seems that SE is going the route of trying to keep subs active and not using the wards as a developmental opportunity. FFXI did this to an extent. Right away at the beginning of the game (at least when I played it) you got your Mog Home and that was your house. Just for free. They just gave you one. Why this was done away with when its predecessor did it, WildStar does it, and Rift does it, all to wild success, is beyond me.

I play a Warrior but don't RP my main character as a Warrior. He's just a lizard man who uses an axe. Then again I also don't really RP that much anymore, so take that as you will. My other toon that is solely for RP is a Dragoon ICly and OOCly. It depends on the class and what I want to RP but generally speaking my approach to MMOs is PvE first, RP second, and I always tank, so my RP toons tend to be big hulking meatheads with an axe or a Saber replica with a sword and board. I RP what I want to play OOCly, not the other way around.

We're not talking about them. We're talking about people who buy up land for the purpose of re-selling it at ridiculous markups. This isn't ArcheAge, it isn't meant to be a cutthroat dog-eat-dog game world. The issue of in-game realtors needs to be addressed because it's not something that was ever intended to be a mechanic. It's a loophole, and a shitty one, and needs to not be a thing.

Yeah, aside from the gil barrier, I don't see how this really helps that whole scam of people buying up multiple properties and selling them to people at outrageous markups. They should institute a system where a player can only own one house at a time (be it a FC house or private home). Not sure if agree with that, think FCs leaders should be fucked over and having the option denied to have their own house. They basically already do. There is little to no difference between owning a FC house with your own private room and owning your own house. You can decorate both however you want. You are not beholden to your FC members to decorate your house a certain way. They are the exact same thing. Just in one instance other people can come in and fuck around regardless of lock settings as long as they have the same tag as you, and in the other instance people can only come in and fuck around if you leave your house unlocked.

For the most part I'm content with my little group of friends that I RP with on a regular basis. That said, there is one person I have wanted to RP with for like, ever now, and we always seem to miss each other. Yvelont Navarre, please notice me senpai. As for interesting-looking people I happen to spot by the wayside, if I'm in an RP mood I'll saunter up and have my character say something ridiculous because he's a ridiculous little shit sometimes and wants to talk with everyone, but since I play this game mostly for PvE and have little time as it is to RP with anyone outside of the aforementioned little group of friends, this is a rarity. And I'm okay with that. (That said, if you see Rukon or Reilan out and about being derps, don't be afraid to come say hi. Reilan might give you shade but Rukon will be ecstatic that someone new is talking to him)
