I love love love the theme for Shiva (pre-Diamond Dust track). It's so powerful and foreboding, it really makes you feel as though going up against the Queen of Ice is going to be some shit. I am also a huge fan of the Pharos Sirius updated track (Light in the Storm I believe it's called?). Very enjoyable to listen to.

It is? I am not an authority on the matter, having only done the first 2 quests, but that seems unlikely. I mean, I doubt the Athenaeum Astrologicum would even be there if Astrologians were considered heretics. I recall some quest text that said a Sharlayan astrologian's father was killed for spreading the practice of astromancy in Ishgard, but maybe that was a past thing and Ishgard has relaxed it's stance on it.

Sharlayan astromancy is considered heresy in Ishgard. There is known lore (I'd have to dig to find it, I think it's part of the AST quests) of Sharlayan astromancers being put to death in Ishgard. Just something to consider. Otherwise everything sounds chill to me :thumbsup: Edit: By astromancy I mean astrologians. I've heard both terms thrown around.

It largely depends on his backstory. If he's a native of Doma, I imagine his name would follow strictly Doman conventions. If his parents fled there, he would have to be fairly advanced in age (I think) to have arrived before the Garlean occupation of Othard, and then you have a bit more freedom (false name, Miqo'te first name with Doman last, etc).

Well, the point would be that there's no real art to re-discover. They're a non-magic combatant in a wizard war. The Imperial Guard to Nym's Space Marines. And through some zany magical mishap, are locked in time until the present, when they are freed and begin to piece together their past, and work through the realization that everything they once knew now lies in ruins. Or wanders the Palace as a little green toad thing that stabs people.

So, following up on my thread about "mundane" soldiers in the War of the Magi, I wanted to proffer a character idea I've been mulling around in my head. Namely, a soldier/knight character who is somehow placed in stasis/suspended animation/frozen in time/sent forward in time/etc from the Fifth Astral Era during said war, and awakens in the current time. The most likely background would be a Nymian soldier who fought under the guidance of the Scholars, but I think work-arounds could be found for them to be some sort of Amdapori guardian as well, placed in some sort of suspended animation when the elementals began to overrun the keep. Just a rough outline for the moment. Feedback/constructive criticism welcome.

I've since been informed that Nym, who I forgot about till now, did in fact employ mundane soldiers led by tactical geniuses (the Scholars) and were able to fend off superior Mhach numbers quite easily despite little to no magical prowess. So I suppose that answers my question.

Hey folks. Quick lore question/theorycrafting debate. Is it reasonable to assume Amdapor and Mhach would have had non-magical combatants at their disposal during the War of the Magi? Perhaps as second-class citizens or maybe something akin to lowborn conscripts that would serve and protect the higher-class White and Black Mages? Grunts wielding swords and spears and whatnot?

I can come on Rukon as a white mage.

I'm not an expert on the RPC wiki specifically but you might need to actually put something in the page before it'll show up on the listing. Just a guess on my part, though.

Ugh. I'm not sure I did it right then. I 'published' a character page (or so I thought) but it didn't turn up in the all characters list or the player character list. You speak of the characters list in the library itself, yes?

However I'm not sure I grasp the whole 'go to the Character Profile page' part. I don't see any Character Profile link, outside of the link that takes me to the main page for ALL character profiles. >.< I did search my character's name in the search box on the main wiki page and I got the classic Red Link related to my character name that I could edit... Do I just edit this way? And afterwards how does it link to the Character Profiles list? Do I have to do that manually or?... Sorry. I'm daft in the wiki department! Once the page is created it is automatically added to the Characters list. You can just edit from the page itself using the "edit" button.

Umm what? They look like they're the same race. Only the Au Ra Look drastically different. The Roegadyn look much like Human Male and Females. If you put a Body Builder Male and Female the differences in appearance are about Roegadyn proportions. Gonna second this. I don't see all that much disparity between male Roe and female Roe.

She really needs to meet Magma Dancer, who serves up as many drinks as you can pay for. Most of my alts, by the numbers, are Roes, in fact, and not one Futa among them. Let's make it happen.

I have a FemRoe bard that I like to think falls outside the norms of people who play Roes. She's not a lumberjack, nor a warrior of any real sort. She's a songstress and a drunkard and a bowmaiden and instead of doing pull-ups she prefers plastering makeup on and going to get hammered and sing bawdy love songs. Maybe it's not as atypical as I like to think it is, but either way, she's tons of fun to play.
