I wrote this as an example of a RP story on another server and thought I would post it here as well. A simple story that I used to give a better idea of who Skaenmoen is. -----------------------A Favor for a stranger---------------------------------- The tavern was ill lit that night. The large bay windows held nothing but dull reflections of the deep overcast skies, blocking any and all light from the beloved moon, Menphina. Scattered were small gatherings of patrons spread about the place, all huddled at their respective tables and absorbed in their own affairs. The weathered front door opened slowly and in walked a extremely tall and pale female Roegadyn. She peered in and straightened her tunic as she made her way into the tavern. Her height alone gathered a few looks from the patrrons as she strode pas their tables attempting to project as much confidence as she could. Her outfit was simple, but clean and neat, which alone marked her as an outsider. She walked up to the barkeep with a gentle smile on her face and leaned in to speak in hushed tones, "My name is Skaenmoen. I'm from Limsa Lominsa, Captain Eifaren sent me." A look of relief spread across the old barkeep's face and he looked up into the Roegadyn's eyes with hope. "Yes, yes of course. I wasn't sure the Captain would send someone." "You have good friends and I hear you are a good man. I came as soon as I could. Please, where is she?" The man nodded and guided the young Roegadyn to the back rooms where he and his family lived. Obviously not built for one of her size, Skaenmoen had to duck beneath the doorways as she was lead to a small chamber near the rear of the building. There in the dark and dusty room laid a small midlander child, no older than seven or so. She was bundled up in homespun blankets with a damp cloth on her head and bandages wrapped up the girl's leg. The bandages were old and dirty, the wound having bled through staining them. A miasma hung in the air, tainting it and giving a bitter taste on the tongue. Skaenmoen knelt beside the child's bed and slowly removed the bandages from her leg. The little girl moaned and grimaced in pain as the final bandage was peeled from the wound. "Good sir, hold her hand. What is her name?" The barkeep nodded and mosed to the other side of the bed and grabbed her hand, as his eyes began to water up he stated, "Annabelle, her name is Annabelle. She is my only daughter . . please save her. Ple . . ." "Don't worry, she will be fine. I can treat the wound and the infection." The barkeep nodded with tears in his eyes. Skaenmoen pulled out her ash wand from her traveling pouch and placed her hand on the girl's forehead. "It will be okay Annabelle. Your father is here and I will help make you better." Light began to shine from the wand as the Roegadyn closed her eyes and began to focus on the engergies of nature and healing. Soon a slight flash illuminated the room and with it the miasma passed, filling the room with fresh air. The wound took on a more healthy look and any sign of infection was removed. Again Skaemoen allowed herself to feel the flow of nature and to have it pass through her as she help her wand above the girl's leg. Another flash of light filled the room and when it was done the girl's leg was as good as new. Annabelle sat up with a smile on her face, no longer pained by her injury or made ill from its infection. The girl dove at her father and embraced him as tightly as she could. Tears fell from the man's face as he held his daughter equally tight. As the Roegadyn made her way out the room the man caught her gaze and silently mouthed his thanks. Skaenmoen closed the door and made her way out of the dark little tavern and headed back home with a slight smile on her face. As she looked up she saw the light of Menphina had managed to pierce the overcast skies, lighting the way as she walked.

Definetly! I will be on today, so feel free to look me up.
-
Sounds good to me! I am really easy going when it comes to rp, so message or walk up anytime. And with a name like mine, if you think it is me then it probably is. Lol
-
Thanks for the RP and the LS Konner! Nothing like good RP right off the bad to validate a server swap.
-
Yes! They sound exactly like what I am looking for! Thank you!
-
Thanks all! I will probably start my hunt for a good alligned knightly style FC tomorrow, but suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated!! --After reading a couple posts about Lost River I think she and Shaenmoen would be great to rp together lol. They are both . . . "top heavy" and appreciate what that means. Although I don't think Skaenmoen is anything close to the flirt Lost is.

So, after giving it some thought I decided to change servers to Balmung and give Luna a more Sea Wolf appropriate name. I hope Balmung rp will be good to her and from now on she will be Skaenmoen. I look forward to finding a FC on Balmung and engaging in the rp there.

I VERY recently came across this link: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/61152-Roegadyn-Naming-Conventions I thought it could help anyone looking to make a Roegadyn and wanted a more traditional name. I only wish I had seen this before I made Luna or I would have used it. Almost makes me want to start her all over with a more appropriate name.

Thanks Chocobald. I will seek out Farrisil Swyrfrutsyn, and add him when I can.
-
Thanks, try and contact sparky for some rp on Balmung. I'm sure he would appreciate it, and good luck to you too!

I understand completely. I have been told that Balmung is probably a better server for me and the play style I have with Luna, but I feel invested in her on Gilgamesh despite the fact that she has yet to really have any rp experiences there. I wish you the best and hope that perhaps this thread will give us both a chance to meet more role players in game. And if I do decide to bite the bullet and remake Luna on Balmung then I will let you know, but I'm hoping it won't come to that.

Hello all! I have been looking to engage in some rp with Luna but I think my schedule has not really allowed for much interaction with other role players. I was curious what other players are available during the daytime and would be willing to meet up with Luna some time.
-
Welcome! I'm on Gilgamesh but wanted to say hello and glad to see you return to rp!

Character Name: Luna Fairsilver Hells/Sea?: Sea Wolf Gender: Female Timezone: CST Looking for?: Friends/Enemies/Allies/ Server: Gilgamesh 2. Does your character fit the 'common' lore of your Roegadyn or are they singular? (Eg. Raised by hyur so does not understand X or Y = singular) Luna is a far cry from her warrior/raider family line. She is descended from a long line of pirates and northern raiders. The 7th Umbral Era has seen no shortage of pain and suffering. Luna's heart has softened greatly by the pain of Eorzea and she feels it is her duty to aleve the suffering of those she comes across. She has an extreme amount of patience and is very slow to anger. She is exceptionally social and pleasant which has led some of her friends to refer to her as a gentle giantess due to her great height. 3. What are your Rp limits, if any? (Eg: no permadeath, no ERp etc) I'm pretty open on the rp with Luna and don't really have restriction. Although the concept of permadeath is a bit strong. She is a rather naive and has a deep desire to help, which has sometimes placed her in some interesting situations. (Regina/ Female / Central Standard Time)

As many have said before, welcome! Luna is also a gentle giant, so they seem like they would get along well. Although she is not a scholar in training she is a very good natured conjurer with a talent for healing that she hopes will allow her to train as a white mage, one day. OCC I understand what you mean about healing people at 40%, I am the same way lol. I have only been playing for a short time but the forum here are full of genuinely helpful people. I look forward to being able to do some rp with you and more of them. Look me up any time!

Welcome! When you need a break from the grind or finish the run, feel free to look me up. I know someone brought cookies then other day, so again welcome and have a cookie!

Welcome! Feel free to look me up for some random rp sometime. I'm relatively new as well, just a few days in fact. Luna Fairsilver and she is a gentle giantess who is very friendly and loves to meet new people.

I'm new as well, so welcome aboard! Feel free to look Luna Fairsilver up in game for random rp!

Limitless Sky Swimsuit Competition! (On Hold)
Lady Whiteraven replied to Gideon Aryeh's topic in Chronicled Events
When exactly will this be? Luna could be persuaded to participate, if it is for a good cause. -
Hello! I'm very new to Gilgamesh and ffxiv as well. I just started this past week. I look forward to meeting you and any other role-players that are about. I play Luna Fairsilver, currently a conjurer, but debating between persuing training as a whute mage or paladin. She is an exceptionally tall and pale roegadyn gentle giantess. Thanks for the cookies. I have milk!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate all of the info and support. This is why I will always seek to be a member of a rp community. I have looked into the Echo Knights but I believe they are just a LS, and not an open rp FC. Am I wrong? I could see where the pirate thing could be fun, but I'm pretty sure she would be opposed to smuggling narcotics lol. But if you are on the side of good and your goal is to help people then she could see you as an ally, a slightly misguided ally but an ally all the same. I will be sure to look you up when I am back in game.
-
Yeah, I won't be on until tomorrow but I will look for you when I do.
-
Wow, great link! This will be super helpful. Again, I appreciate the assistance. Feel free to contact me in game for random rp anytime.

Murder, Mystery, and all the good stuff
Lady Whiteraven replied to Ari Kagon's topic in Chronicled Events
I'm new to the server, but I'd love to attend and participate if possible. -
Thanks for the rather quick reply. Luna is far from a "neer'do'well" lol. She is currently straddling the line between going for training as a paladin or white mage. She is gentle and relatively innocent, but with a backbone. As a quick summary of my character, she is a child of war. She was raised watching the suffering of others and feeling the need to help the helpless. She is a gentle giant of a woman, a pale roegadyn who tends to tower over most others of her race. I hope that helps.
