  1. I've actually started hosting an FTP server holding the patches as I get them. They're all here [link] for people to grab. There's even a RAR holding all of them too.
  2. I added 2010.08.09 and 2010.09.09 to the FTP. The "All Patches" RAR has been updated and now includes the 09.08 and the 09.09
  3. But what will I do whenI'm bored waiting for a group?! :bounce: If you're Lalafell? Run around like Cleveland Brown, Jr.?
  4. That's pretty much what I thought. FFXI didn't have much customization to begin with.
  5. http://www.darwinawards.com
  6. Ah-ha! So that is the key! Is there a a controller toggle for that?
  7. I played the demo, but I don't think I was a fan.
  8. A skill and style! That's two up on me.. my skills stop at stickfigures.
  9. I've got an FTP up and running with a .rar. that provides access to every patch up to what's listed. All patches through D2010.09.09.2000 Others can be found here. It's run on my home network for now, so we'll have to see how it goes. EDIT: Fixed links... should work properly now.
  10. Should I host a direct FTP or HTTP for each patch (not including the client, hell no), how many people would use it? While I know using uTorrent (MicroTorrent) isn't hard in most situations, sometimes you need to get the patches from a unilateral source. For example: I work at a LAN center, and at such a place, uploads tend to cause tetchy network to get more tetchy until the whole tetchy thing falls over and screams till I promise not to touch it's upload anymore. Okay, so it isn't that bad.. Aaanyway. If I were to host something like that, how many people would use it? I need to consider how many connections and the bandwidth involved. I've got hosting with DreamHost, who tends to get mad if I open it up too much. I also have my home network as well that I could put on an FTP server and hope it doesn't kill things.
  11. Stupid people and their digital knickknacks that won't mean anything after it's all said and done. Enjoy the progression, variety is missing in a LOT of other MMOs.
  12. I am seriously hoping for Japanese voice overs somehow.
  13. Don't forget to map the controls in the config tool FIRST. Wired 360 controllers are my favorite, simply because they are a no-brainer for current games. They do have problems with older ones that can't recognize the right stick and triggers though.
  14. I use a gamepad, so it's a bit irksome.
  15. Does it work with windows vista 64 bit? The wired 360 controller should. Considering it's in effect what Windows 7 is (on the gaming front), it should be fine. Wireless controllers are the problem.
  16. I used to use MotionJoy for FFXI, but with FFXIV being able to use all of the axis properly, there's no reason to subject myself to the pain that is trying to make it work every boot. In the end, I use a wired 360 controller. Works perfectly, no batteries, has vibration and supports current games as well, no question asked.
  17. "NEEEEERRRRRRRRDS!!" Thanks.. now you've got the Japanese version of "Bicycle built for two" stuck in my head.
  18. It's the same thing. Offensive spells with an AOE ability get the same button, however getting to that button without having to grab the mouse is (so far) eluded me.
  19. Use a third party BitTorrent client (I use uTorrent [AKA: Microtorrent]). In ../users/name/my documents/my games/FFXIV beta blah/downloads/patch folders/metadata you'll find you already have the .torrent file as is. Just open it in another torrent client and you're good to go. Pop the file into the directory per standard and it should punt you through. The good news is that it means it isn't a network issue, but a technical "stumbling" of the patcher.
  20. Yes, because some Mo'qui-whatever saved you on the boat, or some silver-tongued Hyur managed to save your rear, or some pointy-headed ICO-like guy saved you from a tree. Ugh.. I really should get some sleep.
  21. It really creeps me out how much that list seems directed at religious fundamentalists. I mean, all those things like "witchcraft", "false gods", and demons beside obsession, violence, suicide, arson, rape, torture, and genocidal fascism. It used to be a very problematic claim. Where do you think "Dungeons and Dragons" from the Dead Ale Wives came from?
