I guessed that but I was just giving information incase those who didn't have a voice recording program wanted to be apart of it ^^, sadly I'm not sure if I could commit to such a thing but I do wish you and others who may join you the best of luck with it!

For voice recording software you can use Audacity, it may not be the best but its free.

I'm going to parrot what has been said here but we all started off with no experience at one point in time and yet we are all still learning in a way. Xenedra already gave you the links which are most helpful I may add! So now hopefully the sad part about being new RPER has gone let me just say Welcome to the RPC! please don't be afraid to ask questions and I do too hope to see you around in game!

Xenedra's getting started guide to the RPC This will teach you how to do things like setting up a wiki page for your character it also tells you who the moderators it has lots of very useful information. Eva's Roleplay handbook This isn't a guide as such but it just gives you a general idea of things and it is worth a look to both to new and old Roleplayers. Merri's the story so far This will help you with the story it is a video complied by our own Merri showing you the story of 1.0 so you can be ready for 2.0 I think that will do for now before I scare you off into the deep dark abyss to never be seen again :cry: But anyway yes everyone is super awesome and will be willing to help you! But if you feel nervous about jumping into the world of Eorzea then take a look at our Mentorship program we still have some mentors who have no one to teach and they will be more than happy to help even if you just need help with the lore or getting settled. Welcome to the RPC! if you have any questions feel to ask. We actually have super scientist here who know all the answers to everything (note they may not know all the answers to everything) But they sure know a lot! A lot of people create their own story arcs whilst trying to follow the game lore or just by even following the events that take place with in the world. So if there is a festival players will react that there is a festival. We have no say how the main story goes but we do have a say in how our own story goes, maybe your character is trying to find a lost treasure in Thanalan to come across a dying bandit for him to tell you that he was betrayed and that the item has been taken to some other place. Again it's your story you can choose what happens as long as it's not total lore breaking. My advice is work with the world around you whilst taking note of the events that are going on in the game. I am not sure if I answered your question so I shall leave it at that. If you don't feel comfortable with the lore or just need a bit of help then I would suggest looking at the Mentorship Program. Which is designed to help those who are new to RP or just needing some help in FFXIV RP. All the mentors are really nice and someone will be more than happy to take you on. Hey saw you at the event! so naturally glad to see you here also! I would follow this guide right here for the Wiki creating it's the basic template, but if you need help wanting to make it all fancy and pretty then contact someone in a PM I am sure they will be glad to help out. From what I saw at the event you have your story covered but here there is tons and tons of information you can check out hope to see you about again when the game comes live! And remember feel free to ask questions we luuuuuuuurve questions.

Thank you for the event Blue Skies I had fun! I got to try out Kari's personality for the first time which helped build the character a bit more. Like a few others I did get lost in at the start with all the text I had to change a few settings but in the end it worked out! I hope there will be more events later on. And even though I had a really crappy start to the day that event made things better so thank you once more!

Myself I personally wouldn't mind in in the slightest ^^ it's your character I'm not the one to judge for it If you think your character will look better as a Moon keeper whilst still wanting to be a Sun seeker then go for it.

You can do but you will have to get access to the airship which is around level 16 I think. But as a Marauder you have to get to 10 I think it is to be able to travel by the boat to Costa Del Sol. but don't quote me on that im not 100% sure but the Marauder starts at Limsa Lominsa.

Greetings my friend! sorry for the slow reply Moogle got drunk so I had to run here to give you this message my self! Let me try and answer your questions! People used to use the old Lodestone site for character journals so you could technically also use them as books. As for your last question. Most Rpers are gathered on Gilgamesh at the moment for beta. but when Phase 4 starts everyone will be crawling their way to Balmung. Besaid is a server that no longer exists it was merged into Balmung during 1.0. As for Link shells they are like guilds yes and a chat channel. When someone who has authorisation gives you a link pearl it will grant you access to that channel. To confuse you even more Free companies are a different type of guild as far as I know you can only be in one Free company but you can be in up to 8 Link shells I think. Right now people are playing beta since it's only on for a limited time so the forums are a bit quiet but feel free to ask any questions and I am sure someone will get back to you with answers! hopefully someone more qualified than myself! The people are very friendly here and they are as cuddly as a :chocobo:. But yes welcome once more and enjoy your stay.
