The Screenshot Thread [Tag Your Spoilers]

Kestlona at Sable hall, waiting for her meeting with Captain Erik. If only she knew at that moment 'why' he wanted to talk to her. *cure funeral music?* -
Kest blink, turn her head to look up at the group on the stage. "With 'uch a crowd, ah'm surprise 'rass blades 'aven't shown up to shut it down." She was quiet for a moment, letting her eyes take in the scene again...especially the lack of Blades around the area. 'Wouldn't surprise me if he pay the blade off to keep clear of the area while he did this little stunt,' she thought. It would diffidently explain why the two dancing miqo'te didn't have nicer outfits on. "Still," she said aloud, "it smell good, 'hat ever he made." Her eyes scan the crowd again. "'est watch 'our pockets. Crowd like this make easy pickin' for pickpockets." Still she was much like Cliodhna, curious about what the miqo'te would do now, especially since she miss much of what had happen before she came out of the Quicksand.

balmung Shy Keeper Seeking Entertainment, Friends
Star Lin replied to BGJRM's topic in Chronicled Connections
My shy male keeper will be on tomorrow evening. Gotta stop by Doc Oak to finally have his wounds treated but John will be free after that (barring my sister going to bed early because of assessment at county). -
Kestlona came out of the Quicksand, lance strap to her back, and frown at the crowd that had gather. Loud cheers went up from the crowd, causing the black Chocobo chick to hide between her feet. "Come on Alex, let's see what's up," she said, scooping the chick up into her arms. It didn't take long for the chick to find the bit of braided hair to peck at. Pushing her way through the crowd, it was then her nose caught the scent. "Ah, 'hat smell good." It was then that she saw familiar blond hair, through the outfit was completely different from the dress that the other had worn when she first meet. "Cliodhna," she said in greeting, stopping beside the highlander woman. "'hat's goin' one..." she inhale deeply, "and why does 't smell like ah step into the Bismark kitchen?" She then blush as her stomach growl. 'Knew I should have grab a bit at the Quicksand,' she thought.

So, John was out and about the other day, avoiding going to the healer and ran into this certain hairstylist. Jandelaine scared my poor miqo'te to an inch of his life. In other news, I'm going to have to fix which side of the face that he took the sword strike during the battle. I had it original on his right cheek but they only have a cheek scar for the left side. Which might be ironic that he took the wound to the same side as where his mother slap him. She's either going to feel more guilty about forcing the issue about him learning Conjury...or make her want to blame the friends that he made at "That Grindstone". -
Went ahead and ask to be off by 7:30 that night. It's been ok. So either Kest will be a little late or right on time (depend on if the computer gives me the entire day off of just that night).
-
Just a quick update (if work schedule hasn't change) that Kest will be at the auction Sunday, since they gave me that day off. *loud cheer can be hear all the way from South Carolina*
-
Well Kestlona would probably not see a problem with it. "So you have scales and horns? Ok. Say ya want to go for a couple of beers." John would probably be more wary of the larger Au Ra until he realize that the old Warrior, Judge is one himself. John like Judge, even if his speech is...strange.
-
If things go as usually for Saturdays, then I should be off the entire day. John will be there, in all his blushing glory. John won't be in the shot contest though, since he'll be doing healing duty at Grindstone.

balmung The Grindstone - Saturdays at 10 PM EST (9 PM Central)
Star Lin replied to YesGood's topic in Roleplay Events
Ok, just updating you guys for John. Healer's Heart post is up and open for anyone that wants to post in it. Also got a separate post for any Flames that wish to get an update on the battle from Captain Robinton. Don't mind the sleeping miqo'te. -
(ooc: So, this take place a hour or so from this post. Open to any members of the Immortal Flames that wish to give their condolences to John's Captain, offers to take Sam out to get good and drunk after he's finish with writing letters to the mens families, looking for John, or to check on how the injury Captain is doing.) Sam Robinton stares at the first of the three letters that he would be writing to the families today. This was probably the hardest part of the job, expressing the sorrow and lost that they would...that all of them were experiencing today and over the coming weeks. He already made sure that barring the world ending, his own men would have the time to grieve for the lost of their brothers, and the three healers from his unit were resting... He look over the miqo'te sleeping in the chair, though the sleep wasn't restful, if the whimpers coming from the sleeping figure was right. "John," he said, watching one ear turn to his direction. "I'm ok, John...I'm right here..." John's face relax though it still show pain from the injuries that he took. He turn his head, the left side still bandage from the sword that try to take the kid's eye. Sam found it a bit ironic that he took the wound on the same side as he taken the slap from Mrs. Waterstrike. The boot was remove to show off the bandage that was wrap around the calf, where an arrow had hit home. He should pull rank and send the kid to a healer. He snort to himself, John wasn't a kid anymore, not after being bath in the fire of battle. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to do that at the moment. "Still, love," Sam said, turning to one of the two pictures on his desk. His finger ran across face of the young red hair woman. "Can't help but still think of him as that kid that follow us everywhere, asking the others for stories of their adventures." He let his eyes slid over to the other picture, a picture of two lalafells, a Hellsguard, himself, the young woman from the other picture, and a younger John, grinning as he sat in front of their group. "We're the last of our group, Tanya. And as much as I love you, I'm not ready yet to sit at Thal's table with you." Sam stretch, wincing himself as his half heal leg shifted, reminding him that he still had letters to finish and send out. Picking up the quail again he bent back over the letters that he was writing.

So, I couldn't get screenshots of my score for the benchmark so I'm posting what I did and didn't do here. All I'll say is that it was weird what I got for some of the settings. Honestly, I don't know what to think about what I've been getting but from the looks of it, I'll probably stick with Directx 9. Standard Laptop (some graphics set on high) 1920x1080 DirectX 11 Score 1837 Slightly Low Standard Laptop (no changes done to Graphics)1920x1080 DirectX 11 Score 3021 Fairly High Standard Laptop (no changes done to the Graphics) 1280x720 DirectX 9 Score 6944 Very High High laptop (no changes on Graphics) 1280x720 DirectX 9 Score 3357 Fairly High. John limp out of the gate, heading for the Grindstone, his leg and face injuries not hurting as bad as the lost of the three from their unit. He stop in front of the large stone, glove hand resting against it. His mind flipping back to seeing his friend injury... and wonder what Berrod and Warren for that matter would have thought of him as he panic during his first battle. And now...now Sam was.... "Thought I would find you here," Sam said, watching the miqo'te spin around. "And why haven't you taken care of those injuries?" The dark hair hyur frown as he look over the other. A frown starting to form even as he use the crutches to hobble over to him. "Are you still upset about what happen. The healers said a couple more session and I should be able to walk... "Sam...I mean, Captain Robinton..." He fumble the Flame salute to the older man. "I'm sorry...I panic and you and the others." John bow his head. "You almost die and we lost Rendel, Fox Smart, and Eric." Sam came up to him. "I'm not in uniform, John so drop the Captain Robinton," he said. "Look, John, you did panic but you kept healing." He watch John shake his head. "We would have lost more if it wasn't for you healers." "I could have done more." "When Thal calls you to his table...not even the best healer can stop it." He sigh, "A soldier know that when he or she goes out into battle, there is a chance that they won't come back. Yet we still do so that our friends and family won't have too." He look up at the sky. "It hurt when we lose one of our own. It will never get easier but the pain does ease in time." He look back down at John, his face wet with his own tears. "If you need to cry, John, then let us cry together for our brothers that did not make it back home." He almost lost his footing as John bury his face into his chest, his shirt becoming wet with the miqo'te's tears, and allow his own to fall freely as well.

Berrod stop by before the rest of the crazy gather and John got to worry over his injuries that Berrod had. Thus, John and Berrod friendship is born. It was so sweet....until Flynt and a couple of others started cheering on them to kiss. Picture taken just before the Grindstone started. Got some nice RP in before I had to leave for the night. Sis had to use my computer, so I had it that John's unit got call in for an Amalj'aa raid. Hope to have the aftermath of that battle in Healer's heart post. Please look forward to it. Hai. -
balmung New Flames Sergeant looking for contacts
Star Lin replied to Stormwind's topic in Chronicled Connections
Oh, this might be interesting for John to have more connection among the other Flames. He usually helping at the Grindstone and hanging around the Red Wings's Sable Hall, teasing 'Sister' Clio or (if Doc Oak feels up to it) training under the command Healer, though he's not officially part of the Red Wings. Kestlona is part of the Red Wings and would be glad to hang out with your character. First though she's probably going to have to face her new CO about some information that just came to light. -
The Bacchus Shots Competition is back! 1/22 @9pm
Star Lin replied to Cliodhna Eoghan's topic in Chronicled Events
So I was doing a tell to Titor when I accidentally hit printscreen. Finally round of the Bacchus shots competition. And yes that is an Ul'dahian soldier uniform that John is wearing. If anyone read Kestlona's story, "Good in the Shadows" then this is what John was talking to Captain Samuel about. Wish I could have stay longer but sis has a 24 hour shift with the EMT. Also might not be on for the whole Grindstone either. Sis wants to use my computer (her's stop working) when she gets off work tonight. -
Just a quick update that shutting down the computer seem to fix the problem. I'm in game now on John.
-
Dang it, try to switch to a different data center. Still got the error 2002. Try restarting my router and that hasn't work either. Now I got to pull all the paper work to try and find my username and password to try and get into my router.
-
Dang it and I was hoping to get to The Bacchus Shots event early with John. I hope it doesn't take too long to work itself out.
-
Just what the thread says. Game was working just fine while I was on Kestlona but I then log out to switch over to John and three times I've gotten the 2002 error code. Any ideas on how to get back into the game?

The Bacchus Shots Competition is back! 1/22 @9pm
Star Lin replied to Cliodhna Eoghan's topic in Chronicled Events
John is going to be there. Just finish unlocking Monk for Kestlona. Don't know if I'll get a little RP done for Kest with Erik and Doc Oak or go ahead and hop on John. Decide in a little bit. Edit: NO,NO. I log out from Kestlona and got to switch over to John and now I'm getting the 2002 error. -

So, I was in central Shroud leveling LNC when I came across this. Kestlona just had to get a picture of it. -
The Screenshot Thread [Tag Your Spoilers]
Star Lin replied to Zyrusticae's topic in FFXIV Discussion
So I screenshot a picture of Kestlona for her profile pic on the Red Wings site. Decided to also post it here to show her off in uniform (no hat) and to also show off the Red Wings symbol. -
Quiet footsteps move down the hall, heading for a rough wooden door, only to pause at the sound of voices. The tall figure slip back into the darkness of the shadows, listening in. "Please Sam. You have to do this for me." The voice was young and male. He sound like he was at the straw that broke the aldgoat's back. "Once I'm in Gridania, she'll use it to make them stop me from...." "And this is so wrong on so many levels that if Tanya was still alive, she would kill me, revive me, just so she could kill me again." There was a faint sigh. "Are you sure this is the only way. You could just go to your friends about this." "No, no." the other said. "I don't want them to worry. It's my own fault for pushing the matter. "Then why come to me...no, don't you dare pull back into yourself." Another sigh. "I'll do this but know that I don't like it and Tanya would hate this as well." The sound of papers shuffling could be hear. "I still can't believe she hit you." The sound of a door opening and two set of footsteps coming out of the room. "Take this up front...John?" "I...I think someone's here." **** The dark hair hyur turn his eyes to the hallway even as Tanya's little brother held out one hand, sensing the aether around them. He couldn't help but feel just a little bit happy that John trusted him enough to actually do this in front of him. As much as he wanted to protect him from the world, he knew that he couldn't, and wouldn't do that. Footsteps began to come from a side hall and a large female figure step out. "Kestlona..." "Sorry, Captain...Ah know 'm early," the green hair seawolf said. Her eyes took in the hyur and the miqo'te next to him. "No, it fine." Sam said. He turn back to John, noting the frown on the other's face. He would have to check with the boy late if Kestlona was the one that he sense. "Take the paper up front and turn it in. And you better hope that your dad can keep your mom from beating my head in when she finds out." "I...I'll do it right now, Sir Sam..." Sam watch the kid run off before turn to the seawolf before him. "'ute kid...new member?" "Wouldn't call him cute. He....well, if thing had been different, would have been my Brother-in-law." Shaking his head, he then look seriously at Kestlona. "I just wanted to say that as of today, your files now belong to Captain Mynhier. So now you're his 'problem'." Kestlona frown, "ah know ah 'ana be dumb but ah didn't 'ink ah was problem." Then a smile spread across her face. "But to bea part of a 'rist respond unit." Sam shook his head. "Yeah, you'll get to help out in emergency. First in...last out." He snap off a Flame salute. "So as of right now, you're official dismissed from my command. And I still have paper work to do." He watch her snap off her own salute, turning sharply and heading back down the hall that she had come up from. A bell later, Sam step out of his office, moving down the hall. He stop briefly to glance down the side hall that Kestlona had disappear down. He move on down the hall meeting up with his unit. A few minutes later, a shadow pull away from the wall, moving toward door. The figure up, removing something from their hair and then use the object to pick the door lock, then open it and step into the office. Once the door was shut, quiet movement could be heard in the room. The faint sound of something being pull open and a few seconds later a quiet curse was hear. **** Two bells later, Sam step back into his office. He pause for a moment, noticing the misplace candle sitting on his desk. The handle was turn from where he had left it. Eyes narrowing, he made his way over to his desk opening the drawer that held his unit's personal files. He quickly scan over files, seeing the small scarp of paper on it side, at the spot where a certain file was no longer there. Ever since he was told what they had found in her inn room, he had set this up in case she came look for her files or if someone else came. Once he was sure that nothing else had been touch, he took a piece of paper and quill. He sat down, writing out the letter to Erik. Once he had finish, he folded it and the wax seal it. Once that was done, he pearl one of his units runners. "Deliver this to the Red Wings Commander, Erik Mynhier and no one else." The Miqo'te nods and takes off, the corespondents was this on the inside. **** Captain Eirikir Mynhier, I'm Captain Samuel Robinton, Kestlona Guhtgeiswyn's CO until a few weeks ago. I wish to inform you that someone has been through the files in my office. I do not know why she would be search for her profile, unless she suspects that she has been made, or someone is after her for her skills. Though she has not done anything to endanger Ul'dah, it would be best to keep a eye on her. My personal belief is that someone spent a lot of time on grooming her with these skills. For what purpose they train her, I do not know, and until today, I thought she meant no harm to our city and it's people. I can only hope that whatever made her do this, if it was her, is in fact harmless. Regards, Captain Samuel Robinton

Maybe if John knew Erik a little bit more, he would probably come to this. That might change if what I got plan comes to fruit. Not going to give too much away about it. If he makes it, I'm sure the 'grownups' would get a good laugh over his 'kid' reactions to what takes place.
