Slowly but surely! Most everyone I know who was waiting has been able to get in since about 12am til now. The server may close again yet, but this is indication that it will open back up. Good to hear! I've been through many a beta/launch so I can handle a long line or the like, just wanted some assurance that they were actually improving things I guess :moogle:. I'll be sure to get in ASAP to at least lock in.

As others said remember Miqo'te are clan based but not isolationist. They've heard of and seen guys like Paladins, and not everyone can be a hunter. It's very reasonable that maybe your character thought 'huh those guys in Ul'dah seem to have it worked out, maybe I'll take that up to protect my clan'. She'd be seen as a bit of an odd duck but no one would, like, cast her out for it. Maybe in her mind the best reason to go with that style of armor is that, for example, there are some animals that you just can't outrun easy. Speed and precision are nice but sometimes the monster is faster, so she figures she can be the kind of hunter that stands up to even the big threats. Hell you could go full tribal and have her base this concept off something like an adamantoise, RP her armor painted up like one of their shells or the like?

So, downloading the client now, should be ready by this evening, how's the spaces looking, have they been adding more or is it still a battle royale to get in?

You know I'm kinda glad to be in the filthy plebe group of people who will only get in tomorrow, and then most likely spend the day downloading the patch, gives Squeenix some...adjustment time :blush:

I just hope there's plenty of space for us plebes who weren't in other betas! Though since I'll have to download the client I'm sure I won't be in proper until around sunday so, plenty of time to fix things :moogle:

Yea, such is beta (remember open beta is still beta!), expect servers to go down, especially when you least want them to.

There's fairly good odds the 20 gig figure was the 'breathing room' total, as in 'in the long run you'll need this much', I'd suspect there'll be a 2 gig patch for beta and maybe another one around there for EA.

Yea if anyone sees a torrent of it do share. If I understand that right (man I can be derpy) I can download the client just fine like that and then just wait to get my code to activate my account and log in, yea?

Man I don't have a super fast connection, but I can do a 7 gig download in like, I dunno, half a day? I'm really sorry to hear about you guys with super long waits, at least we can be happy it's not the 20 gig version! Well I'll probably be a day or so late but I can't wait to see you guys in beta/Early Access anyway!

Yea when I go to the old download link posted it tells me to go register FFXIV and then when I go to account management the FFXIV icon has "Code registration currently unavailable. " next to it.

Can you help a dumb newbie who just woke up and post a link to where you did that?

Can I download it if I've never entered a beta code yet or do I need to wait for the 17th to apply for Phase 4 and wait?

Yea I'm a johnny come lately here, I only preordered after phase 3 and never applied for beta before then, so I guess I gotta wait?

So to be clear for those of us who never played a previous phase we should still download this, because it'll be patched into the proper game client/early access one? Also we just go sign up for beta on the 17th when it begins and when we get in we can just log in through this? edit: Oh no it says I can't download because I don't have the game registered, and when I go to register it it says code registration currently unavailable? Am I boned until the 17th?

Yea RP groups in general tend to be some of the best places to find LGBTQ(insert other acronyms here I'm sorry I just legit forget them but I love you all :moogle: ), I don't know if it's just the fact that if you're the kinda person who likes to pretend to be a magic cat person your mind most likely doesn't balk at the idea of someone being attracted to the same gender or born in the wrong body or whatever, but these threads are almost always great little sources of uplifting in a normally shitty internet.:love:
