Yea going by NPCs Lalas have a good century and a half in their active lives, and who knows how much in the elderly stage. They do indeed tend to stop aging around 20, but at a certain point some of them seem to get quite old looking quite fast, which always lead ME to believe (pure head-lore here) that vanity is a factor in a lot of Lalafell's and appearing youthful is a big thing. Also it should be noted for Plainsfolk, while indeed they have a large amount in the...well...plains...the city of Limsa Lominsa has a good deal of Plainsfolk making up their navy so it's very much not unheard of a Lalafell to be a seaman type. My Lalafell is actually a 'backwater' Plainsfolk type, she grew up on a small farm but when she found an aptitude for magic she basically used that as her excuse to get the hell off the farm and see the world. It seems there are a few NPCs kinda like that too, so maybe the urge for travel is a common one?

I totally just wanna log in and get my CE prizes, I'm still trying to settle on what class I'd like to focus on but I think just the basic 'you can't play right now' is making me wanna play more :tonberry:

I ordered from Square online too and just got my code today. I think the 30th is the last day when you can play without a code entered? I'd wait a bit before worrying, you know how Square has been with getting stuff to people, slow as balls. If you don't have it by tomorrow afternoon maybe email customer support with your receipt?

Mandragoras are, historically, a fairly docile breed except for some unique situations. It's easy to imagine one being 'tamed' in some way. The main factor seems to be they react poorly to violence and malice, so as long as he's not a dick to it it should work.

So, I've made a Roegadyn character, and really think she has a of interesting potential as a character given what little I know about Roe to begin with. Basically right now all I have is what's on the official site. I just have a few questions that I haven't been able to find the answer to still. Do Hellsguard still have a 'proper' name like Sea Wolves, or is their more 'outsider friendly' name the name they're given for life? How deep is the divide between Hellsguard and Sea Wolves? All I can find is the basic info on what the differences are, but how long ago was the divide? Have they always been divided due to region or do a lot of Hellsguard have Sea Wolf ancestors? Does Hellsguard disdain for alchemy have a root that's been explored? Were they victimized by an chemical foe or some such, or is it just the general 'perversion of the gods' that they don't like? Is their belief of volcanoes being gates to Hell a 'normal' belief to others? Do scriptures about the 12 mention such a concept or would your average faithful type look at the Hellsguard as primitive and backwards for something like that? I think that's all the questions I have that would help me flesh out writing her a bit, thanks in advance anyone who can provide some insight!

I actually like the prices, it's high but not insane. You have to work for it but it's not something out of reach. I appreciate that. Also, unless I missed it, it's a one time fee right? Not a LOTRO/Aion style rent system?

It'll take me a bit to decide what class my chars will be IC since I have near no experience with 2.0 classes, but even then I have the generals like 'magical Lalafel and tough fighty type' so that shouldn't hamper anything. I plan on starting right away!

For most of the races there's a decent amount of stuff for players to make up. Basically what's on the site is the core info that's canon. There's also obviously stuff like naming conventions which I believe our wiki has in each race section, and hinted at but never explicit things like the nature of Miqo'te tribes.

Where do you see that, 'Active service accounts'? I see FFXIV under my account, but the registration on it is when I signed up for 1.0 (2010). When I click on 'select service' and the FF14 image it brings up the "On this page you can perform various actions on FINAL FANTASY XIV service accounts" and the "code registration is currently unavailable" page, and then right under that it lists Active Service Accounts and Cancelled Service Accounts, FFXIV is listed under the active part. This is a fresh account too, not my old 1.0 one. When I go to my profile proper it also listed FFXIV as registered (oddly it's dated as registered yesterday though?)

So if we bought a digital copy through Square's store how would we get our proper game code when the game launches? The receipt I got called it a pre-order code.

Well my Square profile now has FFXIV: ARR under registered games, I think that means I'm all good doesn't it?
